My little girl had an ear infection, our regular vet couldn't get us in for 2 weeks. I called all over trying to get her in anywhere. They got us in that day at 5:30. While we were waiting be seen, the vet was actually leaving because the front staff hadn't notified him. The vet took it so well. Acted like it was no problem, answered all our questions and concerns. My little girl was eager to go inside, which was a first! She was happy to go back with the dr, and happy when they brought her back. They had good energy and I have never experienced such a great experience with a vet before. We found our new regular vet! I have turned 2 other people on to them and they had similar experience

I really enjoyed the service here! A long time ago this place had a different name and my grandparents used to being their dogs here. Even after the name change I feel that my dog was well taken care of and got a great quality of care of the Vet. Even with all this COVID mess they still managed to do great while working within the confines of the regulations put on them. The staff were careful and friendly and the Vet was straight forward and didn't give me any hesitation about the information he gave me regarding my pets health.over all i would recommend anyone bring their own dogs here.

The best vets I’ve ever dealt with. The pricing is very reasonable. The main Doctor we always see is very knowledgeable and can often accurately diagnose without expensive tests. He’s got an eagle eye for any issues that may need to be looked at. The front desk ladies remember my pets by name and are so sweet and friendly. We once had our pug have an allergic reaction to a vaccine and the staff was so quick to get her back to normal and didn’t even charge us!

My dog got Kennel Cough from this business. The owner refused to accept liability. Clearly, this place has Poor Air Circulation, Not Sanitized, and Deceitful. They wanted me to bring my dog back there then purchase medications at my expense. Absolutely ridiculous and I will never be back!

The people who work here are sweet, professional and caring. I came here for the first time in 2019 and was sold by how gentle the Dr. was with my baby.

Our friends gave us a puppy from Tijuana(a rescue). My husband and I been wanting a little fur baby in the house for some time.Mom:(I waiting for a long time!!!) Our pet vets became our first place to bring our Furbaby. We didn't know the rabbit hole we were going in to save this puppy. We were just bubbling with love for our fur puppy. We had our first crash course on a puppy rescue. We had her for a good 10 days. Beautiful soul her veins were too small for them to find out if there was anything else wrong with her. My husband and I loved all over her. Constantly caring for her constantly telling her how much we loved her. She got so much love but she had another path to go to and that was not including us. We were heartbroken. Even me writing this brings tears to my eyes. But what I'm trying to tell you is this place went up and beyond to help us and our fur baby. The nurse Rebecca the sweetest soul. She comfort us when we was so scared. We just wanted to make sure that we were giving her the best care that we could. And we did. And so did Our Pets Vets. RIP Bella.... We're looking forward to seeing our pets vets again. They are now a family to us ❣️ I know you're wondering if we gave up on having a dog...... No. this veterinarian gave us the strength to try again. That's why that's why we cherish this business so much. Now that I talk to your ear off go take your pet to the best place in la Mesa. Hands down you're going to feel the love that I felt. They know what they're doing... they know their business and they do it well ❣️AK

The staff is friendly and informative. Becca was extremely nice and positive! My dog was having stomach issues and they got me in the same day I called. Everything was explained clearly by the vet and he answered all my questions; I was very pleased with the service. I will continue bringing my dog here!

I have been coming here for years and up until June was very pleased. I made an appointment in the beginning of June for my dogs annual exam. Everything went well on that visit. We discussed options for cherry eye removal on my beagle. I came home and weighed the pros and cons of the surgery. I decided to do it, although apprehensive, because my dog is my baby. I give them a call back less about a week later to schedule the surgery. They got me in for the following week. Which, I took off of work for so I could be home with my baby post-op. I show up on the scheduled day and time, they come out to give me the paperwork. Which, was for a dental procedure that I never scheduled or even inquired about! I told them that's not what I was here for, that I made the appointment for cherry eye removal. The receptionist goes back into the office to talk to whomever, which took at least 30 more minutes. At this point, a different receptionist came out and told me that they don't even have a vet there today, and that they don't offer that service anymore. EXCUSE ME!! I then told her that I made the appointment a week ago, and took off work for this. A general heads up would've been nice. I then asked her, what if I was here for this dental procedure, who was going to do it...?? At that, she had no answer. After that, she looked at me and with the rudest tone in her voice she said, well what would you like me to do about it. I was beyond flabbergasted. I called and reported her rude behavior the next day. Not sure if it did any good. At this point, I was ready to write them off. However, flash forward 2 months. My dog and I were on a mini vacation in the mountains, where my dog proceeds to have what appeared to be a seizure. Considering I have not yet switched vets, I called them. After all, she was just there 2 months ago. I call in a panic asking what I should do, the receptionist told me she'd have the vet call me back. Never received a call back. I have now switched vets, so I could make sure my baby was okay, the new vet called University pet hospital several times to get them to send her file over, and n response from them at all. This is shameful and disgusting. Glad I got a new vet that is caring and considerate before anything else bad happens.

I've been taking my pets to University Hospital since the '80s, when I didn't even live in the neighborhood. Of course it has changed owners a time or two and the current Dr. Munoz is a gem! We've had very good treatment and advice, with compassion and understanding...not too pricey, either. (Per a bizarre review here, I have never seen any rude behavior from any staff, current or past.) Highly recommend.

Very rude. I went in to ask if they did pet grooming for my dog and the women at desk basically kicked me out saying it was only a vet hospital. This is despite that outside was a LARGE sign saying Grooming. I would never go again

I had just got a puppy and we went to this pet hospital for her first check up overall the people are nice but they couldn't figure out why my puppy was they ran a number of test that all come negative after a while we had to stop going there because as my puppy's condition got worse they couldn't give us an explain and the kept running the same which result in a lot of money. A week after our last visit my puppy died unexpectedly. This could have been prevent if they were more reliable. I would not recommend this vet to anyone

The vets are great here but sadly this place needs some serious maintenance when it comes to scheduling... We had made an appointment with a lot of time in advance but the day of they are closed. I understand that it was due to a possible Covid case as left on their answering machine but they could have at least sent a mass text/call to everyone with appointments. We had to miss work for this. I know this isn't an unreasonable request because they do automated texts to confirm appointments so this would have saved a lot of people time. Will probably pay a little more somewhere else but with better reliability.

My husband and I just got a little Havanese pup added to our family and I needed to find a new vet to take care of him. He needed his 16 week vaccinations and they were able to get me in same day. Everyone I interacted with was super friendly and my pup absolutely loved everyone and everyone loved him. They added on a wellness exam since it was his first time and I had just gotten it and even trimmed his nails for me. With the vaccines ($45) and exam ($50) the total was about $95. I’m new to all this vet stuff but those prices seem pretty fair to me, about what I expected to pay. I’m sure you can get cheaper at somewhere like petco, but at least you know you’re getting long term care and not so assembly line feeling. The doc wasn’t super chatty but he was focused on his work which I appreciate. I’d rather them pay attention and do a thorough job than to keep me entertained so I can see how some people can interpret that as rude but he was anything but, he still answered all the questions I had at the moment. The vet tech was amazing and spent more time giving love to my lil kiddo.

Nice vet; always willing to squeeze my cat in, and most of the staff remembered her after a few months of not needing anything. Very cool people.

Two visits, one "emergency" and the second was a last minute squeeze-us-in deal. In both cases, pups are healing nicely. Staff is wonderful. I've only directly dealt with Dr. Soto so far, but he's very calm, knowledgeable and funny (but professional). As much as one can ever say they "enjoy" a vet visit, I would say we did. Please note they have two sweet (very brave) office cats. I was concerned my terrier would lose her mind when the cat came strolling through the waiting room, but aside from taking big "sniffs", she seemed unfazed (as was the kitty). Neat to see.

Very sad today. I constantly raved about everything regarding this vet. I took my dog to get groomed and I can’t tell they did anything to her. I asked for the hair around her mouth to be trimmed and her eyes cleaned. $70 for what? So very dissappointed.

We have used this vet for 4 years now. We have 3 cats and they are great with them all. Dr Munoz and Dr Kelly are both great. Friendly staff-Rebecca is amazing. Today Dr Kelly spent an hour in the exam room with me helping figure out a plan for our FIV+ cat. The staff has understanding and compassion to the fact that our fur babies are our babies. The prices are good and they never push anything on us we don’t feel we need. THANK YOU DR KELLY for being so kind, patient, and helpful today. If you were annoyed at all (heck I would have been pulling my hair out if I were you) you didn’t show it in the least. Thank you Rebecca as always. We appreciate you all!

My story is sad, but Dr. Munoz was so compassionate and very gentle. The staff, Manager: Rebecca Nurses: Emily, Asahi, Jessica, Keanna, Dalia, Erica Are all fantastic, my baby got sick and I was new in town so needed a new vet. We went here and found out she had lymphoma????????????. All I can say is each and every person in this hospital treats you with friendliness and compassion you can feel. Dr. Munoz is a very good doctor I would trust him with all of my Cats♥️ I won’t finish my sad story just wanted to thank them all for the kindness and support they definitely gave me and my sweet little kitty. Literally WORST vet I've ever been to. Doctor and staff are so rude and they tried to charge me 3x what another vet charges for a medication. I walked out and will never be back.

I love this place. The staff is so friendly and the services are affordable.I have never had so many great experiences consistently at any vet. There have been several occasions where I've come in needing immediate help and they are always accommodating.

This is the worse vet I have ever been to.. Very inconsiderate.... Made me sit in the waiting area for an hour and when I didn't want to let them give my dog immunizations they refused to serve me... If I could give a ZERO I would...

One of, if not the best in San Diego for veterinarian practices! 1. Really affordable healthcare in comparison to other pet hospitals in the area. 2. The vet was really thorough, precise, and I have a lot of confidence in her after meeting her. 3. The staff was efficient, really kind, and made an awesome impression of the place. I will be returning here for anything major and minor with my dog!

After taking our injured cat to another vet who wanted to remove her eye, we went to University Pet Hospital. They were gentle with her, communicated with us all the while, and were able to save her eye. Our little Lily is fine thanks to University Pet Hospital!
