My Akita Beau Jake came from there as a rescue in 2012. They do excellent work in saving Akitas, my favorite breed. #1 is Beau in blanket #2 is Rosie (blend Akita/Husky), and Sara (100%?) adopted Hinsdale in Illinois. Gr8 dogs but special handling.

They're amazing people. They care so much about their dogs. They take the time to make sure you and your fur baby are a perfect fit. These rescuers are truly knowledgeable of the breed. If you're looking for your next Akita these dogs will show you the love and gratitude you crave since they were given this same love. They always need help and donations. Even a few hours a month goes a long way.

Easy to use to look for pets

The folks at A Passion for Paws are the best! It was amazing how greatly they care about the dogs they rescue and care about your experience as a potential adopter. I couldn't love a dog more than my Akita from A Passion for Paws.

These people really, Really care about animals, and there dogs especially of course .There was an adoption fee discussed via email before we came to meet and then on our next visit pick up our perfect beautiful boy , but it was very reasonable,and never actually asked for we asked them if there was an adoption fee and that's when it was brought up , they were much more concerned about learning about us and Making sure we would be good Guardians / Parents for Conrad , and everyone was so caught up in the emotional goodbye that we forgot to pay and they forgot to get paid ! We actually had to Email them to tell them we forgot a few hours later and they STILL hadn't emailed us to ask for the money!! That to me is proof that they are all about the dogs(But don't get any ideas about tryin to get away with an awesome dog without paying for it !LOL) Conrad is the center of my universe and sometimes when he jumps up in bed and walks up to me and stares at me for a few seconds totally silent and still and then just leans into me and slides down nestled and cuddled into my side I get so emotional from how much love this guy showed us from Day 1, it's been amazing ,and still is , thank you , thank ,thank you so much for this opportunity to be with Conrad forever

A great place to take ur pet.

Everyone I dealt with was very informative and helpful. Ended up making four trips there (including picking up dog). Probably won't go there again because one dog is enough; but I will most likely donate to the cause and also refer people there.

The people there really care about the animals that they manage. They're looking to hire some staff members to help care for the animals.

Adopted my gorgeous akita here. They are the best! They allowed me to bring in my dogs to see if the akita would be the right fit. The staff there is wonderful! Helpful, caring and knowledgeable about akitas. Loved adopting from there. I took my time at adopting, they took a deposit and then I was able to take the dog when I was ready. Especially great place to adopt, dogs are clean and so are there cages. Dogs are well kept.
