I've been to many e.r.'s over the years and I'm always prepared for the higher prices. But this is the highest price I've ever paid for a simple feline euthanasia. Over $500 for euthanasia with group cremation and no additional treatment. My cat had large cell lymphosarcoma and I brought all his paperwork. I suspect people go back home after learning of the crazy price and their animal suffers. I find it unethical. I also waited about an hour and a half, which is the longest I've ever waited. I'm giving 2 stars because the staff was nice and the doctor seemed competent.

Please do not take your pet here. We were advised how much insulin needed for our pet even though it showed different on the prescription. Our dog got a seizure and they wanted over $5000 to run tests on her. I denied the tests luckily and the bill still came out to $2800. Once they figured that the dog was receiving too much insulin the dog was fine. They took no accountability and it took many calls to get a hold on someone at the clinic. I left multiple messages and when they finally got back nothing was done. I was reluctant to take my pet here but it was 1 AM. Looking at other reviews I should have left. Be careful. Update…I did share that the vet gave us the wrong instructions and it was denied. My mother was the one given instructions and they were wrong. One of your techs admitted to that. Don’t hide behind lies.

This was my first visit at IVVH. Please bear in mind I work in a veterinary ER myself, so I have an idea of what the competition is like. I had to come here because the doctors where I work don't see exotics. I brought my rat, Charlotte, in for an emergency visit at around 11 pm on 10/11. I was quoted 1-1.5 hours, and I was not done with my visit until around 1-1:30. A slight difference, but no wait is too long for my rat kids, so I waited patiently. The lobby was small, but comfortable, and the receptionist, Michael, was very attentive, to me and other clients. The first thing that stood out to me was that they have a separate entrance for dogs and cats/exotics. I really appreciate this attention to detail, especially since my rat isn't very tame, and with her respiratory distress (combined with her stress from her first vet visit), it brought me comfort in knowing she had her distance from dogs (which I love, but can be loud). The decor is very nice. It maintained that simple, beach bungalow vibe while also remaining clean, a perfect balance of sterility and comfort that hospitals of any kind rarely achieve. I applaud their efforts in keeping the place organized despite the difficulty I know ER vets suffer through overnight. A triage nurse (I didn't get her name, but she was great) assessed her very quickly, within 10-20 minutes of intake, and asked questions about how Charlotte was feeling and what her home situation was like. She had a notepad and was diligent in taking notes, which I appreciated. I went to use the bathroom at one point and it was very clean. The receptionist was also very quick to clean rooms and get people in them, as well as check people out. Receptionists have a very difficult job at veterinary hospitals, especially in ER, and it was immediately apparent that the whole team had great communication skills as everything was done smoothly and sensitively. I heard the receptionist communicate with "the back" when rooms were ready, when clients were ready to check out, and when pets or medications were ready to be brought up. I saw Dr. Bobula, who was likable, warm, and informative. She gave me her card before I left and let me feel like I was welcome to call the office if I had any troubles at home. As a worried pet owner, she put my fears at ease, and gave great tips for general husbandry for my kids. She answered my many questions with confidence and I felt very at ease leaving the exam room. When it came to checkout, I felt the prices were fair, affordable even. The cost of my visit was less than an exam at the vet I work at, and that includes meds. For the wages I make in veterinary medicine, this was a huge relief. I would definitely come back, but given the circumstances, I hope I won't have to. Every aspect of my visit was handled carefully but compassionately, and I appreciated that, especially since I have seen the chaos that comes with working in a 24-hour veterinary hospital overnight, and they handled it with aplomb. I honestly have no complaints about my visit, and I know that IVVH will be my new go-to if Charlotte or any of my future pets have any emergent issues in the future. Thanks, team!

What a contrast to other places!!! Staff are supper friendly, helpful and caring. The vet who saw my baby-in-pain was supper attentive and knowledgeable. Technicians are the ones who put your nerves at peace. I witnessed a really busy night there that was managed carefully.

We brought our Yorkiepoo Hans in this past Monday night. It was after hours at our regular vet and our dog was having trouble breathing. Irvine Valley Vet Hospital got him in right away to assess the breathing problem and determined that it wasn’t too serious, but they wanted to give him a more thorough examination after they had dealt with their other emergency cases. It only took about 45 minutes for them to get to our dog (which is fast for an emergency pet hospital) and they did a very thorough evaluation of his breathing and gave him IV fluids and another medication and then watched him for another hour to see how he was doing. Then we got called back and had a wonderful consultation with the vet Dr. Bobula. She was compassionate and went through all of the treatment recommendations, and answered our many questions. We felt no pressure to make any quick decisions about the next steps in care that our dog will need. All of the staff at the hospital were great! We’re very happy with the care our dog received there and would use them anytime whether it’s an emergency or a regular office visit.

I just moved to Irvine a couple of weeks ago, and my 14 yr old dog was having some issues. I suspected it was a UTI and needed to find an emergency vet on a Saturday. I called one place that was too busy to see him, and then found Irvine Valley Vet Hospital. They saw him right away. The facility is lovely, new and clean. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The vet was thoughtful and kind and didn't suggest a bunch of unnecessary tests. We left with 2 prescriptions and he started feeling better almost immediately. He has since fully recovered. The price was very reasonable. Highly recommend.

I was a basket of nerves, when I brought my babygirl, Lola to Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital for a second opinion and more testing to find out the severity of her recent diagnosis of pancreatitis... I felt immediately at ease, I knew we had come to the right place, from the techs, nurses and doctors... we're in good medical hands... Thank you Brittany and Dr. Simpson

This is a fantastic little hospital. I encountered friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have average prices for emergency services. They were understaffed and working so hard and so fast to try to meet the needs of each patient. I heard a lot of people complaining about the wait time, but the bottom line is, if your pet is stable, just sit back and be thankful.

I'd like to thank Dr. Lei and all the staff for taking such good care of Momo! I rushed her over to Irvine Valley Vet Hospital at 3am Saturday morning, 8/14/21, because she was constantly pressing her belly to the floor and shifting her position and looked like she was in pain and also because she hadn't eaten anything since 6pm Friday evening and was also refusing her favorite treats. Irvine Valley was the closest hospital that takes exotics and was open in the middle of the night--next closest one that sees rabbits to my knowledge was all the way in Mission Viejo (Urgent Care of South OC) and I didn't want to drive all the way there and add to her stress. Zero wait time, they took Momo in right away and took her X-rays, which showed that she had a bit of a distended stomach and some gas build-up but nothing too serious, so I was sent home with some medications and advice to feed her Critical Care (which I already had at home). However, Momo is an extremely difficult bunny to give meds and Critical Care to (even when bun-rrito'd) because she hates the syringe so I was only able to give the simethicone (baby gas drops) and the first dosage of each of the meds when I got home at 5:30-6am. For the next dosages, I was unable to give them and I did not want to stress her out any more. At midnight, I rushed her back after getting home from work because she still wasn't eating or pooping; the only thing she did was drink water. They took Momo in for overnight care and kept me updated on her condition and assured me that despite not seeing any eating or pooping from Momo, she was still feisty and that her vitals were normal and expected her to make a good recovery. At around 12-1AM Monday, I got notification from their app that she was finally pooping and eating! Yay! I was so worried sick about her and my other bunny that Momo is bonded to also missed her very much (I wish my other bunny had been allowed to stay with Momo at the hospital because I read that bonded bunnies should never be separated even for vet visits, but I understand their concerns that my other bunny would chew Momo's IV off and why she couldn't stay with Momo). I lost a lot of sleep over the weekend because of her but thanks to the care of those who oversaw Momo's care, she's finally better and I can rest easy now. Thank you so much!

I was so impressed by my cat Mojo's (new) vet, Dr. Bobula. Even after just meeting him for the first time, her observations were completely on target. I also love that she owns cats herself, as most vets feel like they treat dogs for the love of it... and then cats to help pay the bills. But Dr. Bob picked up on subtle things about Mojo's disposition that only a true cat person would even notice. He's entering his senior years now and I feel so relieved to have found this truly excellent vet. She's a keeper for sure.

I brought my puppy dog in for an emergency. I have never been here before but had to find an hospital immediately and thankfully it has been a good experience. The waiting time was 4-5 hours but I waited 1 hour and a half before they could get him in as he was intoxicated and needed treatment asap. They are very busy and they should probably hire more staff. But I am happy with how they handled everything. Every single person in the staff was very sweet and helpful. Both doctors and nurses. Which made me feel better because he had to stay there for over 2 days. They also have an app where they update you every 4/6 hours about the situation even during night time and you can text with the nurses. I wish they offered per boarding service as well because the staff is great and i would totally leave my puppy there.

It is clear that everyone at this hospital has a mission to save animals and they stand by it! They saved Milo’s (my cat) life with the outmost care. My kitty had a severe urethra obstruction and the doctors made a detailed plan for him. They took the necessary tests to ensure they were looking at everything, and performed a surgery to prevent him from suffering any longer. They also explained everything that was going on to me and kept in touch through multiple phone calls and an app where I could talk to the nurses and doctors throughout the night and even get pictures of him. The app is also such a good tool especially for concerned pet parents like me, and just shows that this hospital really does provide state of the art care, technology, and facility. The whole staff really took their time to make Milo comfortable and make me aware of the situation at every step of the way. They all really care about their patient’s wellbeing more than anything! This hospital will always have a special place in my heart along with everyone that came together to help Milo.

I found my little sparrow somewhere and she became my pet but they rejected to examine her since they think she is still a wild animal. When I called them to check if they are able to see my sparrow, they told me that they will if it is my pet and I believed it and took her there. It was 2 hours driving and an hour waiting. When I got in there, the vet asked me how long I kept her and I told her it had been 3 weeks. After my answer, they didn't accept the fact that my sparrow was a pet. My sparrow was suffering from a huge infection on her beak and today she left me forever. I went there 2 days ago, she had a chance to be alive if she got a proper care. I just want to know who is going to punish people because they help sick animal? I will not forget this experience never

We are so happy we found Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital! When we discovered our new bunny had eaten some rubber bands late in the day and was showing signs of pain, we started calling local vets and pet hospitals. Our previous vet no longer sees rabbits. All of the offices we called either didn't treat bunnies or were closing. When we called IVVH, they were friendly and open until midnight. They had us come right away. We filled out paperwork online and waited in the car while they treated our bunny-who is doing awesome now thanks to them! Highly recommend this hospital. Staff is friendly, professional, responsive and we paid less than what they originally quoted us. THANK YOU IVVH!

Be prepared to wait much longer than promised, and pay an obscene amount for unnecessary services rendered. The two times my husband and I brought our dog here for urgent care the wait has been in excess of 3 HOURS after we were told it would only be 1 hour. What a joke. We finally switched vets and realized we’ve been paying an egregious amount for anxiety meds and expression that our dog didn’t need. If Irvine Valley Vet had treated her grass allergy in the first place, she wouldn’t have needed expensive and invasive expression under anesthesia every other month. Hide your pets from this money grabbing trap house.

The staff here is extremely friendly. They made me feel like my needs were as urgent to them as they were to me. I brought in two pets on a ER basis and they got us in immediately. They were very reassuring and did what was necessary and not over invasive. I appreciate the care and response they gave to me and my pets! I would highly recommend them to everyone!!!! 10 stars from me!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not sure how this vet has almost 5 stars. Every trip to this very is a 4-5 hour wait time, hundreds of dollars spent and no reliable answers. I do not recommend this vet to anyone.

Do not bring your pets here.. One of the worst experiences. Took my cat to clear up a rash, he’s had it before and just needed steroids to clear up the rash as has been done in the past. They took my cat for nearly 14 hours for something that should’ve taken a mere hour at most. They decided to give my cat a pain killer, sedative, ANESTHESIA and antibiotics. They risked putting my cat under for antibiotics and pain killers, could have killed my cat. We asked for a refund on the phone, the lady gave us attitude and tried to justify their actions. They emailed us saying they would process a refund. We waited about 2 months and they kept making excuses. We ended up filing a dispute to get our money back. Extremely unprofessional. We paid nearly $400 for something so unnecessary and DANGEROUS.

I waited at least 2 hours for a regular check-up, even with an appointment. Irvine Vet also does not follow-up in a timely manner on medications. I called another vet for a second opinion and they told me that my kitten was not prescribed with the proper medication to address his illness. When I called Irvine Vet to rectify the matter, they said they may need to see my kitten AGAIN for the SAME issue, rather than just prescribing the correct medication. They are money hungry, will not respect your time, and will not return or answer your calls.

First experience there was extremely unprofessional. Dr was super rude and told me I was bad owner and that I should surrender my Service Animal after the fact that I waited there for almost 5 hours. Workers are super rude as well and give you attitude when you ask for a update on your pet. Would never go back.

I had to find urgent care for our poor baby who was suffering some ear pain and made him very anxious. He already had an appointment for the following Thursday with his primary vet, but he was visibly suffering and so I wanted to bring him in to get looked at. I called ahead to check on wait time and explain what was happening and even had our vet email his medical records, and the lady I spoke to over the phone had said that there wasn't any. It took us about 20 minutes to get there, and the wait time changed to 2-3 hours. I was told we HAD no choice, but to wait outside, BUT I found it odd that the couple before me was able to drop off their pet. All would've been fine if ONLY they were kinder and less rude. I was already anxious from worry, and I apologized for being so, but they showed no compassion or empathy, they were rude and uncaring. I had taken our other pet for urgent care twice just months before, there were different staff on hand at their former location, BUT they were kinder. Was it because today was a Sunday and perhaps they didn't want to be there? To be fair, there was an older lady who was a tech who was much kinder, but could not help us. I wish she was the person who was helping us instead. Bedside manner even for vets is very important. Pets aren't just pets, they are a part of our family. Compassion and empathy is definitely important in vet services.

My sweet puppy Pepper is currently being treated here for parvo and is staying at the hospital. The vet, techs, and staff were so kind and were sympathetic (I was absolutely crushed by the news because I tried to unsuccessfully rescue an abandoned pitbull pup that had parvo in the past so I'm familiar with how dangerous this disease is). The vet was extremely thorough during our visit and provided us with a detailed itemized billing statement. I read some reviews below regarding pricing, I believe the pricing was fair especially in light of the fact that this is a state of the art facility, immaculately clean, kind technicians and vets, numerous services offered (including surgery), large space to take care of animals, and 24/7 care. This hospital was also recommended by our vet (our normal vet does not offer 24/7 care and called us after hours to tell us about this place given Pepper's symptoms). I have a family friend who is a vet with a smaller clinic (really far from my home) and he stated that the pricing was fair. Given the higher commercial leasing rates in Irvine (as opposed to Santa Ana), I thought the pricing was fine and the care so far has been excellent. They even have a phone app, and an awesome tech named Sammie sent us a sweet message, with a photo, and detailed update regarding my sweet little girl through the app. You can also chat with IVVH through the app and they provide updates every 5 to 6 hours. I am so thankful and believe that this is the gold standard of care for parvo - hospitalization, fantastic physicians, and state of the art facility. You get what you pay for and what I'm getting right now is excellence from this hospital. I've been to many vets before in my lifetime having raised nearly a dozen dogs and I can honestly say this is by far the best. My wife and I are considering switching to IVVH permanently, plus they're only 6 minutes away from me. Thank you IVVH for loving and taking care of Pepper. It truly means the world to me.

Rabbit vets have been very difficult for me to find in my area. I am so happy I found Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital. It was pretty late when I took my bunny in, and Irvine Valley was very accommodating. They took him back right when we arrived. He was really congested and was sent home with medication. He even got his nails trimmed. I watched them trim his nails and was amazed at how relaxed he was during the whole thing! Our visit didn’t seem very expensive either. Most importantly, I felt like the people at Irvine Valley genuinely cared about my bunny. He means the world to me and I felt like they really understood that. They were very kind to us, very thorough, and took their time with him. The next day, Bruce Wayne was back to his happy and hyper self. Thank you, Irvine Valley, for making my bunny feel better, and for taking such excellent care of him!
