I would give zero stars if I could. Beware these people care about one thing only and it's not you or your pet. Just money and if you don't have enough your friend dies. Period . I will own no more pets because of the greed people like them have brought to the business.

I was house sitting for my son over the New year weekend. While he was gone his cat Punky stopped eating, had soiled herself and had lost the use of one of her back legs. Called VCA, was told they were full and couldn't see her and to call …

This place was wonderful dealing with the anxiety of my service dog being attacked. They were good to understand our separation anxiety and kept peter in a loving environment. The doctor that worked with us was easy to talk to and understanding. Thanks for helping him!

WORST VET EVER. NO COMPASSION. We went in because our BullDog had UTI & as soon as The asian lady doctor saw him she told us that he had “16 Kidney Stones” because other dogs she had treated within that same week, had that amount of stones. First of all, how did she know if she had not done NO X-RAYS on our Bulldog. She went soley based off past experiences. She then proceeded to tell us that he needed Surgery ASAP or he would die within the next day. The estimated surgery bill would come out to $9,000 & up. Not including anesthesia nor treatment. We told her we could not afford the surgery, so she immediately said to put him down. We refused to put him down in that moment because there was no proof of his stones & because I had to consult this devastating information to my parents before “putting him down.” She then got extremely aggressive towards us & started calling us inconsiderate because we wouldn't get the Surgery or put him down in that instant moment. She started acting hostile towards us. How rude of a professional to judge your decisions or force something against your will on your own dog. THE MOST INCONSIDERATE DOCTOR. Fast foward to today, we took him to get some UTI Medication/vaccinations, & he is 100% healthy & happier than ever. HE NEVER HAD KIDNEY STONES. Imagine how many dogs have been put down because of supposed examinations without doing any XRAYs on them!!! Do not trust this lady!!!

The Vet and the staff were compassionate and I was happy they could examine my beloved dog, Mel late Monday night. They are the only animal hospital open 24 hours in the Coachella Valley. I was in total shock that my dog Mel was in a final stage of having diabetes. I thought maybe she ate something, but I had no clue or indication she was diabetic. The doctor was wonderful and gave me the facts and the odds of her survival... not good. They escorted me to a room where I could spend some time with my dog before I agreed to have her put to sleep. I never had to put my dogs that my family and I owned and the staff allowed me to sty with her to the final end. I am still in mourning and will be for awhile. But I thanked the Doctor and the staff working late last night and their understanding. It's been difficult, and Winslow, my other dog .... he knows she's gone...he's sleeping a lot today and sad, too. Thank you VCA Valley for your help and understanding. Mel was born July 2009, she lived 12 wonderful years and she saved my life... Now it's just Winslow and me....

We had a great experience here - our dog was taken care of even when they were extremely busy. Kelly at the front desk especially made the experience fantastic. She did a wonderful job communicating the process and procedures, was very friendly, and overall a pleasure to work with. We are so happy our dog is doing well and fully recovered, thank you!

Pray that old nasty women isn’t working in the evening. Believe she’s the vet. Extremely EXTREMELY rude. Avoid at all cost if she’s working in the evening. Rest of the staff were great, it’s a shame they have to work for some bitter old women.

My family can't begin to express our gratitude for the compassion, clear communications, and dignity we were offered during the process of losing our sweet little cat, Sinclair. They did everything they could to save her, let us know when it became a situation beyond repair, and have supported us in our grief. Thanks especially to Mickey for being a gentle light during this dark time.

Late evening visit and I was not hopeful for a good outcome. VCA helped us through our cat’s last few hours and were incredibly caring and compassionate. I asked for a private cremation and was stunned at the beautiful tribute we received when we picked up her ashes. Above and beyond. Thank you so much ❤️

600 bucks and 5 hours later i was told to call another vet because they dont do dental work here. If someone checked in a dog for broken teeth but you dont do dental work wouldnt you say im sorry but you might be better off going somewhere els. Complete waste of time and money. Unless its midnight and an emergency, go somewhere els.

We had an incident with our dog around 4 in the morning. After searching on line we were surprised to find VCA in Indio was the only 24 hour vet. We arrived around 5. After filling out a form we were told the wait would be about 45 minutes …

I took Bosco, my Malamute in on 9/19/2021 at 9:00pm because he collapsed and could not stand up. After examining him the vet’s assistant presented me with “a plan” for treatment which was going to cost approximately between $1600-$1800 for blood work, X-rays, etc. When I told them I couldn’t afford that they presented me with a different “plan” which was $681. I paid that and left Bosco there because they said they would call me with blood work results. I received a call from the vet at 2:00am saying I could pick him up and they would send him home with some prescriptions which costed an additional $229.93. I didn’t even get a chance to administer any of those medications because Bosco passed away a few hours later. For those hours he yelped in such excruciating pain. I just wished the vet could’ve found it in her heart to be honest with me and tell me it would’ve been best to put him down, instead of sending him home with medication which gave me hope that he would overcome what he was going through. It’s sad to say that even at the vet you get what you pay for and to some vets this profession has become more of a busine$$ to them than them actually caring for our beloved pets. I am very heartbroken and disappointed. I rated them one star only because I can’t leave zero stars. ????????

My dog was critically ill, but I didn't know it. One of the front desk guys(Edgar, I think) recognized my dog needed emergency help, and got him triaged right away, even though the wait was 8 hours for non critical patients. I would not have known that if that person didn't recognize the signs right away. I knew he was wheezing, but didn't realize how bad it was. My dog got great care by Dr. Partida, who always called when he said he would, and called me back too. All of the staff we encountered were incredibly kind and helpful with all of our decision making for what kind of care we could give our pup. Everything was explained to us along the way. The Drs.and staff got our lil guy well enough to come home with us so we can love on him for as long as he has left. The only down side is the expense of it all, but people gotta make a living.

I took our dog here at 2am after one of her sutures broke loose after a bad spay by Animal Samaritans. Dr. Medearis was very kind and I knew she genuinely wanted to do everything she could for our dog. Unfortunately, or dog's health quickly plummeted and she passed away at the age of 6. I know that doesn't seem like a good experience with VCA but it was. I don't blame them for her death, (I blame Animal Samaritans). The staff at VCA did everything they could. Yes, the price to save her was very high ~$7,000, and no they ended up not saving her. But this staff really cared, I know they did. Afterwards they sent a card, a free clay print of our dog's paw, and a dog angel pin. They also all seemed to know what had happened because whenever I called a new person would pick up and express how sorry they were for what happened. I don't believe our dog died because of VCA. I believe that they did everything they could do and that Dr. Medearis did everything in her power to try to save my dog.

Very poor communication when it comes to finding out what was wrong with dog...the male nurse that was taking my dog to the doctor was extremely rude and seemed like as if my dog had all the time in the world to just be standing around being smart telling me "what time it actually is" after I said its been 2 days since we noticed something was a little off with my dog and now she was in very much distress....the doctor didn't want to get to into detail about what might be wrong. She probably didn't even take a look at my dog first getting there. And of course after sending another nurse the total came out ridiculously high. But after finally settling a payment the nurse of course was so quick to take me to the front to pay.....waited 4 hours to get a call from the doctor that constantly repeated "There's nothing I can do beyond this point" and after I asked her how much the medication came out to be she hung up on me midsentence.......dont recommend this place at all they basically seemed like they could care less and that they just want the money...they were so eager to get that part done....

I brought my dog in for an emergency because.he was having severe back pain and constant vomiting. I've been here for 4.5 hours and they essentially have done nothing for my dog except run blood work. I've been waiting for an hour for medication for his pain. I was just told to keep waiting because they have more important emergencies Worst care ever. And it cost over $500. Shame on you VCA

My son (Chris) & i have the highest praise for the hospital, Dr Macy and his assistant, Alicia. We have had our dog Brownie in their care since January with several areas of cancer on her body. Every appt was handled with professionalism, the upmost care and kindness and patience, and knowledge. To us they are ANGELS. As of today, August 10, 2021, our Brownie is cancer free. No more chemo or other meds. This is the 2nd time to beat cancer, with Dr Macy's help Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Chris and Gayle Norton And Brownie help helpl

I’m so disappointed in this place. I came in to get my 14 week old pup X-rays and a cast. The poor pup couldn’t walk straight for longer then 1-2 minutes without stopping and yelping for 1-2 minutes. He did this 30 minutes after the initial injury, so I knew it was time to go in. When I got there I waited an hour till some assistant or receptionist came and asked me to walk the dog to check the severity of his injuries. For the first time my puppy bit me while I was trying to get him out from the kennel. I told the receptionist that this not typical behavior and that the pup is acting out in pain. The receptionist was persistent and would not acknowledge my input. Continuing on to check and see if the dog could bare weight standing on all fours. This evaluation lasted all of about 5-10 seconds after removing him from the kennel. After that the pup yelped as I picked him up and placed him back in the kennel. This where the disappointment set in, I was then told by the receptionist that my dog was not in any critical condition, he was stable in their opinion and being that this was an emergency hospital they were not going to see him before others that are considered emergencies. I was then told that my wait time would be 5-6 hours like as if I was walking in for a check up without an appointment. I cannot believe they would leave a dog in this much pain and say there is no emergency here. I’m stunned because I wouldn’t treat a sick rat the way they treat dogs. Completely unprofessional to say the least.

I went into the VCA Animal Hospital after I was unable to get a timely vet visit. Within two days my cats symptoms went from not eating as much as usual and low energy to bleeding, diarrhea, vomiting, ect. Her symptoms and how quickly they progressed were alarming to me. I went in and gave the receptionist my cats symptoms; food refusal, diarrhea, vomiting, clawing at the mouth, bleeding from the mouth, lethargy, and very obvious signs of dehydration (when you pinched her skin and lifted it, it stayed up instead of snapping back down). The receptionist decided this wasn’t an emergency situation because she was “still drinking water” and I was told I had to sit and wait 6 hours even though there were only two other people in the waiting room. I asked for clarification, it was not the vet will see you within 6 hours, it was you must wait 6 hours before the vet will see you. I did not have 6 hours to sit and wait, I work and have other responsibilities in my day. Thankfully I found a vet that was able to see her two days later, but sadly my cat was suffering from kidney failure and would have passed away on her own within days. The reason I am leaving only one star on this review is because of the rude attitude I received from the receptionist and the fact that my cats symptoms were not seen as an emergency situation. The dehydration, vomiting and diarrhea on their own should be viewed as an emergency. Because the receptionist did not view my cats symptoms as an emergency, she suffered longer than necessary. I also think it’s ridiculous to have people waiting 6 hours to see a vet. Not everyone has 6 hours in their day to sit and wait. It would be completely understandable if the waiting room was full of other patients but that wasn’t then case here. You should also hire receptionists that actually care or are at the very least good at pretending to care. It was obvious to me the girl I spoke with did not care at all about the situation I was in, and overall was very unpleasant.

Amazing experience with Dr. medearis! She explained everythjng to us and gave preventative advice for my compulsive eater. Highly recommend her for emergency care. My dog ate a whole tampon and she was quick to get him to throw it up! They were honest and caring. No unnecessary treatments! Little pricey but to be expected In an emergency

We definitely need another 24 hour clinic because this one needs all the help they can get. It’s unfortunate that we have no choice in an emergency but to take our pets here. Truth is all the negative reviews are right. And if you have the money you probably won’t experience these situations. I’ve had the exact same situations happen to me with my puppy when I took him in for breathing hard and seeming like he was choking. I was told it was that he inhaled his own vomit. But yes there was about a couple of hours of waiting then being told they would need to keep him for 24 hours to monitor and do x rays. All of which would cost about $3000. Then they said if we couldn’t do that it’s possible he could die. Then like many others I couldn’t pay and was just sent home with medication. Turns out he was allergic to the dog food that was given to him which I found out by taking him to another clinic. But what really floored me was before that while they had him, I went home to shower, and I had missed a call from them. When I got out I received a txt from then saying that they were going to call Animal Control to say he’s been abandoned!! I had called back and the line was busy. Not to mention when I got there I waited ANOTHER HOUR! I understand they are probably always so busy, probably understaffed, probably stressed. But we go in just as stressed, anxious, worried, scared about our pets and there is no compassion, there is no empathy, and “there’s not much they can do” unless you have the money. I highly suggest doing your research of other clinics FIRST. Make calls to other clinics to possibly get a second opinion before you fork out the price they give you for whatever they tell you your pet has.

I went both at night & morning. So you could of blabbed my experience of the night shift or vice versa but no it happens every time: They pretty much turned down my dog two times or I can wait 5 hours and see if I get service. In 5 hours any dog can die. This doesn’t even make sense ?? Why would you have an emergency hospital with a 5 hour wait. I had to drive to Mexicali to get immediate attention. & then they were rude on the phone. Totally disinterested and not genuine. Like they’re overworked. They’re attitude made me throw up.

I am very disappointed in this emergency vet. Their lack of communication and follow through of promises is reprehensible. They only care about seeing as many animals as possible, not thoroughly taking care of the ones they've already seen. My cat had not been eating for several days, vomiting foam and very lethargic when I took him in. They did the bare minimum they could for my cat. The only thing they suggested was a appetite stimulant, which doesn't help find out a diagnosis. They did not offer any treatment other than fluids and taking x-rays, then sending him on his way home. Didn't want to try exploring with other tests to find out what's wrong. I have called them multiple times for a week now to get that appetite stimulant, each time they say they placed it as an urgent message and I still get no call back saying it's ready to be picked up. One of the calls I made to them I managed to have them send me the final report on my cat. In that report there were some notes never mentioned to me when I talked to the veterinarian the day my cat came home. I'm still waiting on a urinalysis result, which they said would only take a day or two to get a call back. I wanted to show the vet some videos of another symptom that could be related to what's going on with my cat, was told to send them to an email address and never got a response on the email. I went to another veterinarian over the weekend and they were much more willing to try and find out what was wrong. Also got him on some medications that have made a big difference in how he's feeling. My cat finally started eating after 10 days thanks to the efforts of La Quinta Pet Hospital. It's heartbreaking that this emergency vet won't put forth the effort to call back or explore other options to help our animals when it could mean life or death for them.

I drove 3 hours to get help for my dog. Day in the parking lot for 4 hours. Then very called and asks what is going on with my dog. Cost me almost 400 dollars to get no answers. I went to another vet and with in 10 minutes they found a fox tale near her rectum. Cost 110 dollars to remove including both perceptions. This place is not pet friendly. They are glorified salesman. They kept asking me for different treatments and each time the cost went up. I still don't believe the very was even on site. Had they done a thorough exam they would have seen the infected hole... What a joke and if I could I would take them to small claims court to refund my money.
