(1/2 Review) 2 months. I adopted two kittens and have only had them for 2 months. How much have I had to spend on their vet bills and care over these 2 months? Over $5k. Let’s get into it . My girlfriend and I came into catnap cafe on 10/1/21. Came back the next day (10/2/21) to adopt 2 kittens then known as Max (2mo old) and Stevie (5mo old), now Atlas and Oliver. I should note that I was alarmed by the amount of cats in this shelter the first time we visited. Over 100 cats easily. Multiple sick cats, new sick kittens being brought in and taken out by what looked to be volunteers. Smelt pretty bad as well but hey what can you expect with that amount of animals in such a tiny space. Max and Stevie were not even our first picks to adopt, although great kittens. My girlfriend and I were interested in Tito but decided we could not get him because he had a huge sore on his mouth, another cat I cannot remember the name but she had a beautiful coat but obvious upper respiratory infection. We assumed Max and Stevie were completely healthy at the time of adoptions. Boy were we wrong. We already had a cat at home so we knew we would have to keep the new kittens separated for the first week or so. We kept them our bathroom and made a cozy new home. First thing I noticed when we took them home is that there were flees crawling all over their skin. I was mortified. Ran out right away to go buy a flee comb and came back to bathe them. I took about 20-30 flees off of each of them (some still remaining). Next day took them for a normal check up at the vet. Ran all of the tests to make sure they were healthy enough to be introduced to the cat I already had. Vets provided flee treatment. Results came back luckily their SNAP tests were negative. However their upper respiratory issues were not. They both immediately started treatment, Stevie did manage to start recovering, max did not. I got a call from catnap after we had had them for a few days, I mentioned that they had a flee infestation and upper respiratory issues, clearly upset. At no point did the catnap employee advise me to take the kittens to their partnered vet for treatment. In fact they thanked me for taking care of the issues, no apology for sending me home with sick cats. Rushed off the phone as soon as I mentioned they were sick and had flees. On 10/7/21 Max had gotten worse, we took him back the vet and he started new medication. For the next week and a half his health continued to decline. We consulted with our vet they said to wait until he finishes his medication and if it didn’t get better to bring him back. He had been coughing, sneezing, sleeping, everything you can imagine. His eyes were glued shut with mucus and so red. Obviously in pain, we thought he was going to die. We took him back to the vet on 10/20/21 for emergency treatment. We spent the whole day there trying to figure out how we would be able to afford keeping him alive. He had to be hospitalized, nebulized and kept in an oxygen chamber. He received fluid and medication, the list was endless. We still didn’t know if he was going to make it. We got all of the test results back and his upper respiratory infection had turned into phenomena. I was absolutely livid. How could this supposed shelter adopt out cats on the verge of death. How could they be so careless to have this amount of cats that obviously were not being taken care of. I sent catnap a long text voicing my frustration that they replied to hours later only after I stated that I would have to make a public review. Max had to stay at the vet for a little over a day. Was supposed to stay longer but we could not afford to keep him there. (picture added with rest of review)

This cat cafe seems like it is being negligent about the health of their cats. When I walked in, everything seemed fine—until I pet the first cat I came across. He had extreme nose discharge that had crusted and you could hear the cat breathing through his nose. He also had massive eye discharge. As I continued my stay, I quickly realized many of these cats had the same issue. One was even drooling and lethargic. I felt so uncomfortable that I wanted to leave within five minutes of stepping foot into the cafe. I asked one of the workers if these cats were sick and the response was, “No, all of our cats are healthy! They would have nose/eye discharge.” Not even aware of the COPIOUS amounts of cats with those exact issues. So many of them were sneezing as well. It also seemed insanely overcrowded for such a small lounge. Many cat fights broke out during my visit. Please, Cat Nap, use your donations to help these poor kitties.

Took my 12 & 10 year old granddaughters there. Both love cats but mom is allergic. They had a ball cuddling & playing with all the fur babies. I wish we could do it more often however the cost of the entrance ($20 adults & $10 child) may be too expensive to do on a regular basis.

Such a great place to play with cats! It was a clean space with a relaxed atmosphere. They provide lots of toys for you to use to play with cats. The cats there are the sweetest and cutest babies ever. This adoption center definitely has your forever baby.

Unlike traditional cat cafés I've visited, this space does not tease cat interactions and leave one unsatisfied. I came prepared to try to coax a cat or two to love me, I ended up covered in them. So many of the cats here are so gregarious and friendly, clearly well adjusted from their time in this cat colony. They also all appeared so healthy! If you're in the market to take a cat home or to spend a relaxing afternoon with all variety of tiny kitten to Jeffrey's 20lb adult cat frame, the Catnap Hangout will not disappoint.

I would recommend to anyone looking to adopt a cat to visit and spend time with all the cats who are ready to adopt or foster. Even if you're not ready to adopt or foster its a great place to unwind and be with or play with cats and kittens of all ages.
