This place is a lab where over 200 greyhounds are held captive for years and farmed for their blood every 10 days. The dogs are in terrible condition physically and especially mentally. This place is a warehouse full of caged greyhounds

Disgusting organisation that uses ex racing dogs as blood donors rather than allowing them to be rehomed. They stopped doing this with greyhounds in Europe years ago as it was unethical. All blood donation is done on an ethical, volunteer basis in Ireland.

Easy to get to location with ample parking. Once you get called to go inside, it was clean and staff was friendly. Doc knew what they were talking about. Holistic happiness all around after they solved a skin issue for our aunt who referred us here. Very happy with service and charges were clearly explained before doing bloodwork and etc.

They keep the lights on by using the greyhounds as blood slaves for their onsite blood bank.

Dr. Dodds is a life saver! She treats animals as if they’re family, not simply a “patient”. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So thankful to have Hemopet to purchase our FFP from. They are fast to respond to emails when you have an emergency quick service and I can't imagine not having access to their Plasma for our litters.

Met Dr Dobbs and Dr Kanbe. They met me with my dog under the tents outside and discussed my concerns about my dog. We decided to run tests. Waiting for results. Both very pleasant and knowledgeable.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is an atrocity. Greyhounds are the sweetest, most loving dogs. They just want to cuddle on your couch. Nobody can justify keeping these majestic animals in cages 23 hours a day, every day for years to harvest their blood. This shocking practice does not occur in other states, only in California. There are more humane ways to get an adequate blood supply. Just as it would be unthinkable to enslave an innocent human being in a cage to harvest their blood, these dogs deserve to live with loving foster families until they are ready for their forever homes. Avoid!

Being deprived of exercise, companionship, and stimulation caused these dogs tremendous mental distress, which led some to turn in frantic circles, paw desperately at their cage doors, and try to jump up even while inside the small crates. The frustrated dogs barked and howled ceaselessly, leaving them all with no escape from the noise, which added to their chronic stress. Hemopet staff only made matters worse by yelling, “Shut up!” or “Quiet!” at the agitated dogs. The dogs’ stress was so chronic that many of them suffered from diarrhea and loose stools. Employees said that stressed dogs sometimes fought at night, resulting in torn ears, neck wounds, and bloody cages. Some dogs were caged together even after fighting. One staffer said that she’d seen “some pretty gnarly neck injuries” at Hemopet, and another employee said that her hands were “covered with blood” when an agitated dog bit off part of another dog’s ear. Shame on you!

They have been so great. I have gotten several dogs from them and they have all been great dogs. Hemopet staff have been so helpful.

You won't find a more caring staff than here, and as a rescuer for the last 20 years I've seen more than my fair share of vets! They never upsell or make you pay for unnecessary items. They are unsurpassed (as far as I'm concerned) in their diagnostic skills so you won't waste time. They always have time to hear your concerns and listen to everything you say to get a complete picture of what is going on. You'll never get a eye roll if you talk about something you may have Googled, just a thoughtful discussion. I couldn't be happier with the service I have received here. Going to the vet used to be a horribly stressful place to go, now I feel like I'm taking my animal friends to people who care about them as much as I do and who will do everything it takes to keep them healthy.

4/3/19 Update On 3/28/19 I came back from a trip and 10mins later Jackson my GSD passed away in my arms. I was heartbroken not only because he was my dog but because he was there through some of the most tragic times in my life. This staff was the most sensitive and thoughtful people I've ever met! I could hear the compassion in Amanda's voice when I called back to tell her Jackson had passed, from earlier telling Angel we'd be coming in... On 4/3/19 I received the card signed by everyone from the staff and each taking the time to write their condolences will forever touch me and my families heart. They went the extra mile to do something so thoughtful and became part of our extended furry dog family in doing so. Words can't explain how this touched me personally. Nowadays you have too many vets that aren't in it for the animal, but themselves and give poor advice...

Over priced and they want your money

**** The "veterinarians", and staff at "Hemopet" are tormenting, and abusing dogs.......it is true, and PETA has video and photograph evidence of this hideous dog torture at "Hemopet" .....The state of California should shut this evil place down immediately, and the staff , and so-called "veterinarians", should be arrested for animal abuse!

I volunteer here and it's a really good place that is a rescue for greyhounds. You can adopt if you like. They take really good care of the dogs and do not adopt until dog is ready.

Of course greyhound rescue, more like making money of their blood!! Horrible should be ashamed of yourself!! Poor dogs they don't deserve that.

I adopted a wonderful Grey from Hemopet some years ago and he was "Greyt"! A loving companion who insisted on sleeping in my bed (even though he has his own). I still miss him.

Friendly staff and reasonable price

After reading this I think we should stick a needle into the jugular of "Dr Dobbs" and put her inside a metal cage for weeks. She should not be allowed to practice "medicine" to earthworms. She infuriated me. Close hemopet down the greedy ba tdards.

Today! Awful, Awful! They use greyhounds like lab rats! How can you be able to do this! Terrible place!

Hemopet is the only place I take my pets!!!
