Waited 3 hours to be told that they need to keep my dog over night for something that a previous time took less than an hour at their garden Grove location and wanted to charge over 1k

I don't usually leave reviews but after my experience I feel I need to advise people away from taking their pets here. My experience is very similar to those in the comments, where I left with the feeling that I was being told lies (or a stretched truth) just to get money out of me. We brought our dog in after a few seizures that day. When we where seen by the Vet she asked why the dog needed a visit. I explained what had happened and she immediately jumped to talking about putting the dog to sleep as an option, OR she could run EVER test to see what's wrong. Now I understand the need for tests but we are tight on cash and wanted to just try tests that made sense for what we came in for maybe we could narrow the search and lesson the cost. We weren't asking for any freebies but at the sight of any sort of deviation from the 2 option, she got annoyed and impatient. After saying a brief 'we don't have the cash is there anything else we could do?', she said "I don't know what you want from me". Seeing how the conversation was going in a circle I decided there was just one thing I wanted to know before I made a decision and I asked if the dog would be in pain if he had another seizure. She told me "very much so" which I now know after getting a second opinion is not likely. Long story short she had given us the option of putting the dog to sleep or get charged $1600 to diagnose (so we can then find out how much I'd need to pay for a cure if there was one). Dog is in good health and ALIVE. Keep yours that way by staying away from here.

We had a very hard situation of having to put our beloved pet down on a Sunday. We were in a panic about her not seeing our regular vet as we weren’t sure what to expect and we had heard a lot of bad stories about emergency vets being overly busy and all that. Even though it was one of the hardest things ive ever had to do, I feel so grateful that the receptionist, the nurse, and the doctor all were extremely kind and gave their heartfelt condolences. They also made Lola comfortable and gave her fuzzy blanket and soft dog bed too. It’s a high stress place and I saw more than one customer act very ugly and rude (to the point that I personally would have refused their service or called the cops! Cussing at them and all that). But that sweet receptionist said she wouldn’t let it bother her because she knew they were having a difficult and stressful time. These staff members are heros. They deal with super high stress emergency situations all day and they deserve your thanks and appreciation. Mine too. Kindness goes a long way in these tough situations and I appreciated them.

One of the worst places I have ever had a animal seen. Billed me 944 for a exam and some diagnostics that they never even conducted. We were lied to, called dumb by the vet tech, and they were as unprofessional as can possible be. Jenn there supervisor used racial slurs with me even.

I was very happy with the care our dog received. Dr. Joval was kind and thorough and we felt like our dog was in good hands. Everyone I spoke to, on the phone and in person, was kind and courteous. I think North Orange County Emergency Pet Clinic is an asset to the pet community, and I take comfort in knowing that they are there for our pets if we need them.

MONEY FEENS!!!! I’ve had two experiences with this place, shame on me for not learning my lesson the first time. I lost not 1 but 2 pets because of this place. I won’t go in to details because the loss of my babies is too present but, just observe and I cannot be lying that before they comfort you and tell you how your pet is doing they will worry about getting you a quote first. Of course that’s their priority not your pets life. If you decline their services be careful. They will probably be upset and are not afraid of showing it. I wouldn’t be surprised that they do something to cause your pet more harm if you decline the services. I have a gut feeling that they might’ve caused my pets death because money was their priority and I chose not to spend it there. If you truly love your pet don’t bring them here!!!

DO NOT COME HERE!!! We brought our puppy here last night because she wasn’t acting right. She couldn’t keep her balance and wouldn’t eat/drink. They took her to the back and told us it would be $1,600. We asked for what and they said they didn’t know yet but we would have to pay that up front before they did any tests. Then we said okay just give her back to us and then they proceeded to tell us we had to pay a $100 examination fee before we could have her back. We asked what the diagnosis was and they couldn’t give us an answer because they didn’t run any tests, X-rays etc yet. We were extremely confused as to how someone can charge for a service but not perform the service. We paid for a $100 examination but didn’t get an examination, or any answers. Beware of this place!!! If you love your fur babies you will not bring them here. MONEY HUNGRY PEOPLE!!!!!!!

Excellent price points for any beginner pet owners. Love the environment of the clinic, their establishment is the best, and they treat every customer with the proper care. This place is just speechless when it comes to their services.

If you can wait to see your normal vet please wait. This a cash business. They charge you hundreds of dollars just by walking in the door. I was a vet tech for 18 years and I had to work very closely with his hospital when they were further up on Harbor Boulevard. They have advised my husband‘s grandfather multiple times to put multiple pets to sleep when all his pets needed was an actual exam but this hospital doesn’t know how to do that. They will charge you $1000 and in the end they will tell you to put your pet to sleep and when you take them to your regular vet your vet will charge you $100 and keep your pet a life for years to come. This place is here to take your money they don’t care about your pets they never have they never will there are very few veterinarians in this world it actually do things for the pets and they’re not in it for the money

We took our 2 week old kitten here, we were referred by another Vet Hospital because it was serious. His name was Osha. He wasn't eating and just sleeping for about a day. We took him here and waited a few hours for any news because they said they had a few "Emergency Cases" come in. The Doctor did blood work, told us he was healthy and completely fine minus low blood sugar and low body temp. Charged us $120.00 Then sent us home. Osha died an hour after my husband got home.... They could have TOLD US something was wrong! They could have TOLD US he was dieing so we could have prepared our 13 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER! But NO, they lied, charged us for whatever they could and sent us home telling us he was perfectly healthy and he was FINE! HE DIED!!!

Our Goldendoodle puppy suddenly became lethargic and wasn't eating or drinking water. We took her to NOCEPC where she was taken in right away and examined. The technicians were very polite and professional. Our puppy was treated by Dr. You who was extremely thorough and very compassionate. (He obviously noticed the fear and concern with us.) Daisy was ultimately treated for dehydration and a digestive issue. We are extremely grateful to Dr. You and the entire NOCEPC staff!

I wish I could give them 0 star but my one star is for Jessi the nurse I believe who helped me out. Please do not take your dog/cat here cauz they will rip you off your money. Somehow they play with your mind and especially the female vet Dr. Zuko who I believe will purposely make you feel guilty for not letting them run the test which mind you would cost around 900 bucks When I was refusing to run any test she gave me a very mean/accusing look. The funny thing is that they will make everyone run the tests and all of these ppl will eventually have to pay a fortune for something which is as simple as a stomach ache Please be smarter and take your pet to somewhere where you are sure your dog will be treated with care not with the tendency for a doc to loot you off

I have taken my puppy Louie to this emergency vet twice this year and each time they have made sure Louie was safe and well taken care of. Yes, they are pricey but they get the job done. Just got Louie back after he got some food poisoning. He was lethargic and not acting like himself. Thank you for healing our baby!

BIG TIME SCAM Took my cat in for bleeding of the mouth. They gave him a shot for infection. They said he needed tests for $900.00. I said no. I paid $200.00 for the shot. Big mistake. I was about to go and they said MAYBE he needs dental work. They knew that all along and were going to charge for the tests which he didn't need. Went to Banfield the next day. He did not need the shot. All he needed was a tooth pulled. Stay away from those PARASITES that prey on pet owners. If you can, wait and go to Banfield. Very honest place to take your pet. Thank you and good luck. PS. I can't believe there are any positive reviews for this business!!! Must be a lot of naive people out there with a lot less money!!!

Merciful and tender care by Dr. Jovel AND staff. We said good night to our boy, secure in the knowledge his suffering was over. I’ll never stop crying and never stop missing him. But I was deeply grateful for the honesty and service here.

Dr. Backus was the BEST! She took care of our cat and was very no-nonsense in her approach. She really understood how stressful the situation was for us, both emotionally and financially, and went out of her way to help us. She even followed up with a phone call after the hospital was closed to help us find the best continued care for our cat. I only wish that she worked in a regular office so she could treat all of our pets. She is the kind of vet that all drs. should strive to be.

Poorly resourced abs most uncaring staff with no regard to the safety of of the pet needing attention. I called before I came in on the night of 7/31/2021. My dog had droopy eye after grooming and seemed in pain and discomfort. Her vision seems impaired. After observing her st home for a hour with seemingly worsening condition, I called this emergency clinic among others and was told that I really should bring her in to be seen that day. I was transferred to a vet tech who took my and my dog's info and sent me the link and the address of the Fullerton location, indicating that my dog's information has been taken and given to the Fullerton clinic so just go in. As a single mom I put my 5 years old son into the car with my 14 years old furry baby and drove about 1 hour to the clinic. We arrived and being told they did not receive any information about my dog and the wait is 4 hours. We arrived at approximately 8:30pm, I am sitting here writing the review at 1:51 AM, and my 5 years old son is sleeping in the back of my car. I was told at 1130 that there were two dogs before mine. I was told at 1230 that the doctor is examining my dog. I was told at 1:30 that they need my permission to give my dog a corneal exam. When queried about how much longer till the completion or corneal exam, I was told that she's unable to predict as another dog crashed on the table while the doctor was examine my dog an hour ago. Since the doctor has been diverted to resuscitate for one hour, my dog has been abandoned for 1 hour and no one knows how much longer. I work in a hospital as a nurse, so do understand about the triage concept. However, at this point my dog hasn't been since the day the vet tech felt very strongly that needed to happen. She is a very gentle dog who gets anxious easy and drools and shaken up. When questioned on whether she was given meds to at least ease her pain, the answer was no. My Chewy could've been kept at home comfortably resting without the emotional distress and be brought into a clinic appointment in the morning which I already secured. This clinic maintains minimal staff at night, does not divert pts when overwhelmed and understaffed, and is overlooks the wellness and safety of pets with a focus of turning profit by patient volume. It is not safe, nor reliable or compassionate. Do try to avoid for your and the pet's good.

My 16 year old Irish Jack Russell suddenly wouldn't eat, had chills and lethargic. It was Saturday afternoon and my Vet closes at noon. No choice but to seek out this Emergency clinic. Up front it was an hour or more wait time. Then Doctor called to get permission for x-rays and labs before diagnosis. 2 hours later Doctor called back, sent text x-rays and lab report, and recommended treatment, for additional cost. Two more hours and $1,000 later my dog was released with 4 prescriptions. No idea about quality of doctor because never met him - only phone contact. Fees are outrageous! And, pay in advance, thank you. This loving dog has been my true companion for 15 years and she deserves the best. I'm comfortable financially, but I still left feeling gouged and exploited by the fees.

I went to this vet hospital it cost me $408 and they did not treat my cat. They cleaned one wound and sent him home, went to another vet to find out he had 2 more wounds that were not treated. I will not be returning to this vet hospital.

AVOID TAKING YOUR ANIMAL HERE. horrible staff and horrible service. They won't tell you anything until you pay the $900 exam fee. If you ask about any other option besides paying the fee, they will just tell you to put your animal down. They know you are desperate late at night so they push really hard for you to just pay the high fee. Scam

We took our Shih Tzu Koko here because his primary Vet wasn't available on a Sunday and he was vomiting and having diarrhea. They took him in and checked for giardia or any blockages. They ran an x-ray and blood test but everything came up clear. He's on Metronidazole and doing much better although we will still be scheduling a time with his primary Vet to check his stool. The staff there is friendly and communication was clear and consistent. We picked him up later that afternoon and are happy with the treatment he received. I would recommend this place for pet emergencies

This is a terrible place! My dog was stung by a bee, but they put it in a crate and did the test only 2 hours later! All these 2 hours I waited outside and had no idea what was going on with my dog. 2 hours for an emergency! I was in shock! And the stuff (a man actually) was very rude!

Super kind staff. I brought my dog in after midnight. He had liver failure and was seriously distressed. He didn't make it, and the staff did everything they could to gently support me through the process. My dog was family for over 11 years and it was a tough night. But I will never forget the efforts of this clinic and its team to make it a little easier. If you find yourself in similar circumstances where it's late and you're scared for your pet, I don't know that you could do better than this place.

This place is horrible, I give them a star only because i have to, not because they deserve it. Customer care/service is poor with unprofessional staff and the prices are outrageous, just to see my dogg they wanted 800 upfront & since they already had my dogg than made me wait outside they want to charge a fee for even seeing him , this place only wants your money, better off taking you pet somewhere else , I highly recommend not to let this place stay in business by letting them take your money.

I give 5 stars because other than the devestation of circumstances, the staff was extremely helpful & caring. My visit sucked, having to stay outside & converse with the doctor via phone- due to COVID. Also because I had to put my cat, Kiki, of 16 years down. However, the people were kind, & I even received a sympathy card, despite this being my only visit ever to the facility. I was left with the impression that the staff here truly does care, & that meant a lot, especially during these crazy virus times. Thank you to the Doctor & staff ♥️

I was so happy to see the clinic was open despite the Covis19 virus shutdown. Thank God for people like that.
