I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. We took our 3 month old puppy to get his ears cropped. Our puppy was greeting people and dogs in the waiting room and seemed content with being there. After meeting the vet Dr. Eib, our puppy became very scared and he did nothing to comfort our puppy or get to know him. He would hold him down while he was screaming and tell me to stop if I tried to calm my puppy down. I should have went with my gut and never left my puppy here. When I went to pick him up, he was screaming until he was in my arms. He is now 10 months old and is terrified to get his nails clipped or step foot into any vet building. I am not sure what happened while he was left at this vet, but it turned my happy puppy into a reactive one. Do not take your pets here!!

My grandparents used to take their dogs here and have only had great things to say about this place. So when I moved back to fresno I decided to take my own little guy here. I normally get his nails trimmed at petsmart, but I had missed a few appointments and his nails had gotten longer than they'd ever been. I thought it would be best to let a vet do it since his nails are black and it's hard to see how far to cut. NEVER AGAIN! Although he's a very nice man, I did not like the way he treated my dog. As soon as he walked in, he muzzled him. I didn't mind that he was muzzled, I just didn't like the way he did it. Then he very roughly put my dog on his side and had me hold him down. Keep in mind my dog was already scared because he's never been muzzled before and I'm sure he didn't understand what was happening. So of course my dog started trying to get up and whenever I couldn't hold him down, he would roughly throw him back to his side. (My dog is an 11lb Chihuahua mix) I don't believe he was causing my dog any physical pain, but he was definitely traumatizing him. My dog had never been treated that way before. I started trying to verbally comfort my dog but he made me stop because he said I was making it worse. I know my dog, he actually would have calmed down if I had continued to talk to him. I wish I had listened to my gut. I had never seen my dog so scared before and it was so UNNECESSARY. I just kept thinking why is this man being so extra. My dog ended up pooping because he was so scared and it ended up getting all over the table and myself. He then told me that my dog only pooped because he wasn't getting his way. Yeah, im sure having his mouth taped shut, and being roughly pinned by a stranger had nothing to do with it. If he had walked in and checked my dogs temperament, and let my dog sniff him and whatnot, he would have seen that the muzzle and restraining him was not needed. If he had bothered to ask, I would have told him he doesn't mind getting his nails cut at all. He'll let anybody do it without giving them any problems. But he just walked in and treated him as if he were a 100lb angry beast who is known for hating nail trims. Then to top it all off, he offered me nothing to clean the poop with. I grabbed a paper towel on my way out and wiped what I could, but it was pretty embarrassing going into the waiting room covered in poop. Oh, and it was $30 for the trim, which was very jagged and rough. My dog was a nervous wreck for the rest of the day. I was worried he'd be scared from then on to get his nails trimmed. But when it was time again, I took him back to petsmart and he did fine. He was nervous at first (which was unusual for him so I'm sure it's because of what happened with Dr. Eib) but they greeted him and took a second to let him sniff them like they always do. They asked questions about his temperament which is why they never feel the need to muzzle him. My dog did very well at petsmart, like he always does. Our experience at Elm Veterinary Hospital was horrible. We had never experienced anything like it before. I'll never take any animal there again because for me it's not only the quality of the work that matters, but also the way the animals are treated. I still gave 3 stars because in all the years my family has gone there, this was the only bad experience. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but I won't be going back to find out.

Dr. Eib and Keisha take great care of our loved ones. No BS procedures. Just straight foward old school mentality. Complete honest answers.

I’ve taken my pets here for years and so have my parents. Vet himself is amazing and very respectful and that’s the reason I’ve kept going. Good prices. I only gave it 3 stars because the front desk lady is VERY rude and unprofessional. I’m starting to look else where to take my pets.

I took my doberman to get his ears cropped and they are amazing!! They tell you everything you need to know and answer all your questions. If you aren't dedicated to the proper after care and follow up visits...you might as well go somewhere else because they want to be sure you're dogs ears are perfect. ❤️ It's a long process but absolutely worth it. ????
