They are the best for caring for injured wildlife

They never even answer the phone and how much is in the county budget for that service

Took my dog there for the Subaru event where she was able to get chipped and vaccinated for free. She was in and out within minutes and the people there were very friendly. It was kind of hard to find a place because on maps it tells you to do a U-turn and that it's in a different place but it's to the left of the jail in the back. Very happy I was able to get my dog chipped and vaccinated and even better that it was free. Thank you

After losing my furbaby of 15 years, I decided to adopt an older kitty in his honor. Trixie had been at the shelter for a long time and, after finally meeting her, I was completely in love. The people at the shelter were SO kind and they got me through the process super fast. I, honestly, have never met a group of sweeter people!

First time having to come here..Found a sweet doggy in my Vallejo neighborhood. My local Humane Society was too full..This fella's owner has been found and his family will go pick him up tomorrow..He was very shy..but seemed to like me.????

These people are rude..saw someone come in for weeks waiting for a dog..and just gave the dog away to someone else. They were inconsiderate, hateful, malicious and unfair. Some of these workers lack empathy and compassion and certainly should not be working with animals.

Think people are one of the best essential workers that we have out there for everything that they do for all of these individual animals so whenever we can let's please donate give them a helping hand and a big kudos to each and every one of them

I’ve fostered a couple of kittens here and recently took one home yesterday, knowing only that she had a mild URI. It turns out that she had fleas, too. When I reached out to let Solano County Animal Care know, no apologies were given and I was instructed that I had to go drive there again to pick up flea medication as I gave her a bath after my discovery, which washed away the topical flea medication they treated her with yesterday only after I noticed on the paperwork that she needed a vaccine ASAP as a 9 week old. I asked if I could just purchase the treatment on my own and get reimbursed and was told quite simply no. I am disappointed with the way the shelter handled this matter. I have volunteered at another shelter and fostered many kittens, and never had such an issue. I don’t typically post reviews but wanted to warn others that if they want to volunteer to ensure they ask many questions about the animal they are going to foster to ensure no such incidents like this again. I do not know if I will be volunteering again. Please also note that directions on GoogleMaps are misleading and you should turn on Foster street to get to the shelter.

My sister and I dropped by, as we like to donate to the Animal shelter. Let me stress how nice and clean this shelter is...and also extremely organized. The adoptable animals are in one are, the strays are in another ( waiting for owners to claim), and strays that ( at the moment) are not adoptable, for different reasons. And, that is JUST the ???? dogs! The feline area is very quiet and they had a few kittens, but mostly adult cats. All lovely and deserving of a forever home. The establishment is inviting and the staff is very helpful, if you have any questions.. .

Very helpful. Unfortunately I need to surrender my parent’s dog. There’s unfortunately a wait, but the lady assisting me was very helpful. And it was remarkable seeing how she and her cop workers all seemed to work together in an almost seamless manner

Sad that so many animals end up here. We have always gone here for our pets. Adoption is quite easy at this location. Employers go beyond what is needed to keep you happy and satisfied.

Adopted a small, 3 year old female dog - Dachshund-Pinscher on 05/15/21. I saw the dog on the Animal Care website and rushed over to see her. The application process was easy and fast. Liz was very helpful and sensitive to my needing another little love in my life. I fell in love with this little girl immediately and proceeded to adopt her. We are already inseparable! When you rescue an animal, they always know and they are always so appreciative! Thank you for rescuing me!

No customer service at all I walked in so many times to adopt a dog and they act like a grown man can't take care of a dog pity

Unfortunately, my experience here lacked in the staff. The priority here is NOT on the animals. Although clean and humane treatment is apparent. The need to place these rescue animals is covered with a staff of suburban white ladies whom seem too know nothing about the animals needs based upon the color of your skin. Ethnic, hardworking, families whom can provide a decent home w love and affection are assumed to be unfit, dirty and unworthy of rescuing these animals. The assumption drawn based upon a profile and the staffs meet and greet procedures are certainly not up to date, of our times and the facility itself presents itself in such a manner that seems outdated, uncomfortable and institutional. It was very clear here that the staff may be informed of the animals social state and breed but make poor choices when it comes too pairing the animal in homes that often return the animal back too the shelter itself. I saw this twice in one day. Get with the times. Hire people whom care genuinely about homes for these animals. And please lets see sum color!!!

Truly disgusted at the complete lack of veterinary or husbandry knowledge, as well as absolute lack of respect for life. They tagged a timid friendly house cat as feral, lopping off his ear and throwing him out on the streets! This is a friendly stray that was clearly abused and mistreated at the hands of Solano Animal “Care” (HA!), and now I have to find an actual animal advocacy group to work with this unfortunate, and now traumatized thanks to SCAC, cat. I have worked in this field over a quarter century, so I know whereof I speak- this place is ROTTEN DEATH FOR ANIMALS

Our cat went missing yesterday. I called this location and Liz was so helpful and patient with me. I’m besides myself my little cat is not an outdoor cat. He ran outside and hasn’t been seen since. They had one at the Shelter and I drove out there to take a look. Unfortunately it wasn’t him but the front desk young lady was sweet and so was the lady who took me around to see the cats they had there. Thank you for keeping such a clean environment for these animals.. it smelled clean too. You are truly doing God’s work. May The Lord Bless you.

It probably was not a coincidence that the staff was friendlier when I came bearing with many donations-possibly because my second trip had a different staff working that day- but I did not have a warming experience when I was genuinely interested in looking for a dog to adopt during my second trip. I had filled out a form and had wanted to see how Buck the sweet Mastiff would react around my boyfriend and I. However, we were denied to interact with him since one of the staff members had mentioned my height would be difficult for me to handle him. I informed her that I had taken care of my neighbor’s Great Dane and their German Shepherd, thus letting her know I have an experience handling a larger breed. Still denied. I had owned a blue nose pittie as well. I understand that the fact I currently have a dog at home may be a red flag that I shouldn’t have pursue Buck since he is not good with socializing with other dogs. I still wish I had a chance to see how he’d react with us. We were genuinely interested and so I searched up Mastiff breeds on pet finder and found out that Buck has been transported to SF. I am still committed and might see if they’d let me see him there... My first trip a staff member named Kylee (I think that’s her name) was super sweet and was very informative and encouraging if I was truly wanting to adopt.

What an awesome experience. It was so difficult to find a smaller dog, especially during Covid, but Spinner was on the website and I drove to the shelter to meet him. The staff was very informative, shared all the information they had for him, and we met in the meeting room. I immediately knew he was the perfect fit for my home, and I was right. He had kennel cough, but we took care of that with a quick trip to the vet, and I can't believe how smart, funny, and overall fantastic my 'Beau' has been from day 1. He owns this house, that's for sure. Great experience and would highly recommend working with the staff to add a family member to your home.
