Banfield Pet Hospital Fair Oaks, California

Absolutely amazing people work here. They are so kind and patient! I really appreciate the way they run things here. My dog doesn't do so well with other dogs and they handle it very well! If you have a dog like mine you call when you get there and they let you know when it's okay to come in so there's no issues. We go out of our way to come here because the staff is so great!

So happy we have a Banfield clinic near us. We loved our other vet but it was a 40 minute drive. We wanted a vet we could turn to in an emergency. The staff is amazing at the Banfield! We feel blessed to have them so close by.

We brought our 15 year old Beagle in with a bluish tongue and heavy panting on a Thursday. We paid for Xrays of her lungs and another $100+ for an "expert" to look at the films. We were told Missy was fine and took her home. By Saturday she was in distress again and we took her to a 24 hour emergency Vet. The doctor there told us her lungs were 90% compromised. We spent more than $4k there trying to save her life but she did not make it. How can two Vets look at her symptoms and Xrays and send us home? One of the other Docs at that Banfield location called us after we complained and said she would have probably had Missy go to the ER with her symptoms. We would NOT RECOMMEND Banfield to an enemy. Due to their incompetence we lost our Beagle girl and are absolutely devastated.

I went to this Banfield location. My dog was prescribed 3 medications. I ordered the meds through Chewy and 3 weeks later the doctor STILL has not signed off on the med request. Because of this the orders get canceled and I have to re-place them. When I called to discuss this concern with the staff at Banfield Fair Oaks they were rude, unresponsive, and did not take responsibility or apologize for the lack of action on their end to get my dog’s medications filled. I’m actually a bit shocked by just how rude the staff was over the phone. I will never be going back after the lack of care and lack of action I’ve experienced. My poor dog still suffers without medication almost a month after seeing the doctor.

I have been taking my cats to Banfield Pet Hospital for the last 12 years. Now, it's impossible for me to get an appointment at Banfield. Sometimes the available appointments are 7-10 days away. Any pet who is very ill is referred to a an emergency vet. Why am I paying the monthly fee for my cat to receive no service.

This facility employees were very open and friendly. They helped make our prodigal Tortishell kitty (Ayla), that much more healthier with all her shots.

This is a corporate type veterinary hospital. Though it can be expensive, even with a wellness plan, if any of the problems that my pups have had over the years HADN'T been handled by these wonderful folks, it could have easily cost 3x as much for surgeries and treatments. These folks care about animals, and about their profession. It really shows. I have been to several different offices, some inside PetSmart locations and others as stand alone locations. So my pups are meeting new vets/assistants all the time, and I never have to worry about the quality of care, or whether the first time meeting will be good or bad. It is always a good experience. They are very communicative about their recommendations as well as their expectations of you for home care of your pets.

My cat and dog have both been seen here and always have a great experience. They are very professional!

Dr. Berlier is knowledgeable and carrying. He takes the time to really listen. He presents all possible scenarios for your pet and allows you to make your own decision without pressure. Medications are refilled without a lot of hassel. However, it's important to know that Banfield is a corporation and they are trying to make money. They will try to convince you to be on their yearly care plan. If you have a high maintenance dog like mine, that's a good thing. If not, you might want to look elsewhere.

Had to take a cat here to be put to sleep... They were VERY kind and compassionate. Even sent us a sympathy card later...

Called them yesterday to make sure my dog food came in, because it is special ordered. They stated yesterday that it was a 17 pound bag. I go in today and it's 7.7 pound size. Every single time this happens. Waste of my gas and waste of my time. I'm done.

After requesting that the veterinarian hold off on performing the vaccinations while I gave a call to my breeder, they asked if they could "start the examination and hold off on the vaccinations", then by the time the cat came out from the exam they had already administered the vaccines. Also, a week later, my cat had a small cut that I was hoping they could take a look at to confirm it should be alright, they are telling me that they wont be able to even take a look at it for 5 days, unacceptable. I have learned that I should not consider this location a vet, I will be taking my business to an actual local vet that doesn't treat me as just another number.

Love this place. We lived in the natomas area and would drive to Fair oaks just because we loved it so much. Dr. Berlier was amazing and saw our princess Paige since she was a puppy. Some of the vet techs were intimidated by her but also seemed like they were not really dog people....seemed scared of Paige. She was and still is a hyper puppy and they should have known how to deal with that as well. Overall though it was worth us driving the 30-45 minute drive to this place. Also loved that it was it's own brick and mortar building and we didn't have to go inside a pet store.

Called in to make an appointment for my dog. They quoted me $89. Dollars just for the visit. Marqueen animal hospital only charges $69.00 for an emergency appointment. This place is a rip off!!

The newest Banfield was very nice. I liked that it was stand alone. The Vet was SUPER friendly! They knew how to make my shy rescue dog work with them. It was a great trip! Definitely recommended!!!
