Our dog woke up ill. She was mopey, not wanting her morning treat and then started shaking her head as though something was in her ear. We knew she had to be seen so we called our vet and they were booked. Couldn’t see us until Friday… it was Monday. So my husband and I started calling around. We talked to 7 other places all booked. When I called Village Veterinary Hospital they said they didn’t have an available appointment but she still asked me what was going on. When I explained her symptoms how every office I called was booked she said she would squeeze her in. We were able to get her seen same day. I will be forever grateful for the compassion they showed and making the time to take care of our dog. As an added bonus they were wonderful!

The older front desk lady was very rude, and so were the ladies in the office, one asked if my cat had gotten her rabies shot and I said no, she then said that it would be the best option to get her the shot, (while my cat is sick) and from what Iv learned in veterinary school, you don’t give an animal a vaccine when he/she is sick. After they took my cat in, one of the front desk ladies called me while i was in my car waiting, and told me they won’t take my cat in the future if she does not have her rabies shot, and 5 mins after that the DOCTOR called and said absolutely nothing about the rabies shot and when I asked, had no idea why I was told that. I will not be bringing any of my animals back here!

They are a very loving & caring place and they are very reasonable on their pricing!! Our little baby had to stay overnight for back pain & IV fluids and Rey kept us well informed of his progress. they take very good care of my pets

Took my 9 year old boxer there today. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and professional. The vet also had excellent bedside manner and spoke to me on the phone to stay compliant with their covid policies. I think we just found out new family vet. First time there it was a bit of an emergency Diane and Dr Alex were awesome!!

Your hospital is only as good as your staff. I had my own dog treated here and I will say the vet was knowledgeable and very nice. She was put down 5 years ago and I guess things since then have changed. This morning I called to inform them my moms dog had passed yesterday. She had a medical condition that with treatment she should have had a long healthy life. Instead she died at the age of 10 (small dog our others have all lived to be over 15). I am not sure she ever got the correct medication for her disease. Then this morning when I called the receptionist who answered the phone first misunderstood and thought my mom had passed. I cleared up it was the dog and I wanted them to update her chart so my mom wouldn't receive reminders for care. One HUGE phrase was missing from the conversation. Even when she thought my mom was the one who died I never heard the words I'm sorry. It was just oh oops ok I'll update the chart. The complete lack of empathy floored me. When I get another pet you can believe I won't be coming back here and my mom will be taking her other dog elsewhere.

For the love of your pet...do NOT pay attention to the idiots on here who think they know more than a DVM! The entire staff here has always shown nothing but compassion and love for my pets and respect for me and diagnosis and treatment have ALWAYS been spot on. Even if I ever move out of Escondido, I will continue to bring my pets here because they are thorough, gentle and they, genuinely, seem to care. 5 star treatment at a reasonable price. They don't do anything they don't absolutely HAVE to and present all fees before any treatment is performed. HIGHLY recommended by me, my Winston and the MiniDog. <3
