It is never fun when a German shepherd accidentally eats his toy. This review is a thank you for VEG emergency for providing quality care and transparent pricing. I would not take Maui anywhere else. Special shoutout to Sam and all the …

Nurse Mel and Dr. Kim were so amazing. They took such attentive and loving care of our pup, and it was clear everyone else working was giving the same care to all the dogs there on a busy night. I was deferred away from two other emergency vets because of staffing and their capacity; so grateful for their care for our Huxley. Thank you Mel and Dr. Kim!

Thank you, thank you! Could not have asked for a better emergency vet visit. From calling to make sure we could come in to all the vet techs respecting my super scaredy cat and her fears to the vet’s knowledge of the issue, respect for the cost of emergency care, and ultimate respect and appreciation for my girl’s mental and physical health…I can not thank you enough. Mel (and whomever helped her with X-rays and cystocentesis) were so comforting and understanding that Hazel didn’t need further sedation for her procedures (aside from the gabapentin I gave her at home). Dr. Maxwell is truly in the right career. She’s one of the best vets I’ve ever encountered! Holly and Anna were great to chat with when we were wrapping things up. Holly had set us up with a private room for my nervous girl and I hadn’t caught the name of the other tech who checked in on us while we were waiting. All the staff were understanding and helpful.???? If I had unlimited funds, my cats would be going there for regular care! In an emergency, we’ll be there without hesitation.

While on vacation, Waylon ripped a dew claw nail. All emergeny vets in san diego were at capacity so our wonderful friends Jerry and Charlotte drove us all the way to Encinitas to VEG. The office had so many animals way worse waiting but they just took us right back and took care of Waylon really quick and they didn't even charge us because it was just the nail. Thanks so much for taking care of us.

I had a very good experience here considering the circumstances and would recommend to others.

I recently had a traumatic experience here that, after much deliberation, I decided to share publicly. Maybe I can spare someone else the same heartache. Maybe they'll actually wakeup and change. …

We took our sick Boston Terrier in today to see if anything could be done. We had to put our little guy down. Although this is a really sad day, the staff was first class. They listened and answered all of our questions. Gave us options and recommendations. Dr. Sanchez and her staff gave us all of the time and space we needed to make an educated decision. I feel like they were truly with us and helped us through this difficult time. Thank you. God bless you all.

My animal was in respiratory distress and no animal hospitals had oxygen chambers available except VEG. I drove the 40 minutes there as fast as I could and they took him back right away. The vet is very stressful for my cat from having a bad experience and the normal, outgoing, confident, and loving cat that he normally is turns into a demonic possessed slasher, that will do some damage to your body if he gets the chance. Despite his behavior, they were very accommodating and sedated him enough to take X-Rays, which showed his lungs were just full of fluid. They rushed him to the exam table, shaved his sides, and put a needle in each lung to drain the fluid. They pulled out more than 8 ounces. My worst fears were realized; cancer. Despite the traumatic event (I saw them do everything in real time) and terrible news, the overall experience there was amazing. Our pets are our family and this facility and the staff truly understand and exemplify that understanding of your pets are family. I have been to a handful of ER vets over the last two decades but I will only ever go there for any emergency from now on.

One of the most amazing ER/urgent care facilities I’ve ever been to! Dr Carter and staff nurse Victoria were amazing!!! They got us to the ER area right away. Long story short, it appears our 16 year old dog had had a seizure. But they made sure to give us all options and details. As well as how to check and make sure. The setup of the ER is: you walk into reception and are immediately escorted back to ER. You get to see everything in action. Sort of You become a team member to save your fur kid. They don’t put you off in a waiting room or take your fur kid away from you. It is not required you help as they have lots of staff, but they let you if you want to. I loved it because it took me out of being scared and allowed my energy to be helpful. Dr Carter and Victoria were right there. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable and knew exactly what they were doing. Ironically, I have epilepsy from two brain surgeries from two famous hospitals in the country, so instinctively I knew they were doing all the steps correctly, efficiently and with great care. We didn’t feel pressured with anything. Just given the facts and options. Thanks also to the receptionist who took the time to look up how to get from San Diego to Encinitas and approximately how long it would take. Yes, I am tech savvy and have Maps but while talking to the receptionist and holding my dog covered in vomit and feces, the receptionist didn’t miss a beat to quickly look it up for me so I didn’t have to touch my iPhone or let go of my dog. That was brilliant. Thank you all.

These guys are so great! I came in with my little dog scared and confused to why she was acting strange. They saw her right away and diagnosed her quickly. I’m so appreciative for all they did for my little girl. Thank you so much Holly, Mel, and Dr. Maxwell! This is my new vet for sure! Happy holidays

The best emergency vet we have ever been to, the whole team treated us so well and the receipt broke down the various costs which were super reasonable. Would recommend ????

Dr. Salazar and her team are above and beyond in stressful situations with your animal friends. No one ever wants to be in an emergency situation with their pet but these folks truly care and it shows. I had to bring my mom's sick kitten in overnight and they were absolutely incredible. Very different than any other emergency vet experience I've had in the past elsewhere. Top notch and much appreciated.

Our nurse, Ivanna, was very professional and very helpful. We had to come here for our dog with a broken claw, our vet was not taking same day appointments and we needed to see someone same day. We filled out the paperwork online and we’re seen within a few min of arrival. I would highly recommend VEG to anyone.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! The staff is very welcoming to not only the pets but also the owners. You can go in with your animals so you can experience the visit together. They are very transparent about what’s going on and communicate very well with the owners. The doctors give recommendations for treatment but doesn’t force treatment on your pet without your consent. They go over the price before they execute a treatment plan. VERY military friendly too, that really helped with the cost. I love this place, I refuse to go anywhere else to get my pets treated.

Dr. Silva, Stephanie, Holly and the entire VEG team were so kind and helpful. They got our puppy Walter in immediately after his allergic reaction and gave him meds & lots of love. Would absolutely recommend visiting VEG!

Tech was kind - that was as good as it got. We waited over an hour and the Dr. Wouldn't come in. When we asked about the others that were coming in after us and being seen, we were told it would be a leas another half hour until the dr. Would speak with us. We ultimately decided to walk out and see our regular vet in the morning. Highly disappointed in this place. I would encourage you to Look elsewhere...

I'm so glad I took my dog there in such a horrible situation. They handled him so nicely and me too. And he is on his way to a speedy recovery. I highly recommend them.

I was so impressed with this Emergency Group of Dr.'s and staff. We live in Valley Center and my Weimaraner got very sick from what looked like a Neuro toxin he ingested. No hospital in Escondido could take him due to being full and it was 8:00 p.m. on a Monday night. We were referred to this group so off we went. When we arrived they walked us right back into a room. The staff was so caring and efficient. They truly cared about my baby. The Dr. explained everything clearly and really listened to me. At no time did they remove my baby from me. They did his IV catheter right there with us holding my baby. There were no walls to block views and we were able to walk my baby right into his kennel for the night. I was offered to spend the night next to him if I wanted. I did go home, but the Veterinarian called me all through the night to keep me updated. They were absolutely amazing. I went back the next day and they told me to just go on back in to my babies kennel. I was able to sit with him while waiting for the Vet to come speak with me. I have worked in the Veterinary field for years and now in a animal shelter. I was so impressed with the care, compassion, and openness of the whole staff and how the hospital was set up. The definitely hit the "Fear Free" outlines. If you are ever need emergency care I would absolutely, definitely recommend this emergency group!!!! I know this is a long post, but just can't say enough good things about these people. LuAnn and Sterling.

Professional, Personal and Flexible! Highly Recommend. Concerned my dog might be having another urinary obstruction we needed an exam and ultrasound. VEG staff took our information over the phone and was expecting us upon arrival. Being a medical practitioner I found the facilities to be a miniature version of the ER I worked to see my patients but way faster and more efficient. I know this facility is relatively new but I can only hope it continues to stay as well staffed and run as it is now. A true gem in the emergency vet-med arena. VEG is now part of our pet care plan.

I had the absolute BEST experience here. Everyone at this facility is so very nice and helpful. Besides the fact that I had to bring my dog here I had an amazing experience! 10/10 recommend this place

All of the staff here were wonderful! We really appreciated their kindness, transparency, and flexibility during our visit & the attentive work to help make our cat feel better. They also followed up so quickly with all the exam notes to both me and my non-emergency vet. It is so reassuring to have this place nearby! Highly recommend!

We were unfortunate enough to have an emergency with our cat Yeti. He became ill unexpectedly and quickly, so we came in a panic. The team did an amazing job in both caring for Yeti and helping us through an extremely difficult time. You could tell they cared and did all they could to assist us.

My puppy, Luna, decided to eat bee this morning and the stinger got stuck in her tongue. Luckily VEG was less than 5 minutes away so we took her there. Holly was very nice and helpful when we arrived. She took us straight to the back and I got to stay with Luna the whole time. Dr. Shapiro and Sam (one of the vet techs) helped calm Luna down so they could get the stinger out of her tongue as quickly as possible. Overall it was a great experience and Luna is back to her playful self! I would recommend VEG to anyone who's furry friend is having a health emergency!
