Good experience so far. Dr Tanaka is great but some of the Vet Tech need work and help. We'll see how it goes the next few months.

I initially took my cat nova in because she had what I thought was a skin rash- turns out she had flees and dr Tanaka took care of the itching with a shot and recommended I keep doing what I was already doing. A few months later we took our family cat -Tom- in as he had been attacked by a larger animal and had a nasty wound on his neck. We knew it was going to be a pricey surgery and dr Tanaka even recommended we take him elsewhere (more affordable options) he worked with us and treated it as an emergency. Our old tom boy is healing up nicely and we are so thankful ! - Resendez family

It’s been a crazy busy time for the Veterinary industry. I was happy to be able to get into Santa Fe Animal Hospital without waiting weeks for wellness visits. Both my dogs were seen together and they their team spent quite a bit of time with me going over things. I didn’t feel over sold & I didn’t feel like my concerns were dismissed. Nice team from the first call in to our last question at check out and their curb side process was very smooth. I’m so lucky that Encinitas has several great vets and Santa Fe Animal Hospital was so good to my Dog kids and I today. I’d definitely recommend them! They’re wonderful. We’ll be back!

Dr Tanaka and all of his staff are wonderful. They are compassionate, caring, gentle. I am taking my two new kittens to them and he will be their vet for the rest of their lives.

Dr. Tanaka has been a wonderful vet for our 2 dogs. Our older dog who is 16 has had increasing veterinary needs and Dr. Tanaka has always taken the time to talk through options. On many occasions he has gone above and beyond for us. I have always felt that Santa Fe Animal Hospital is very fair and reasonable with the cost of services.

Our small dog had a little surgery and had her teeth cleaned and a tooth pulled. The staff was great and treated her like if she was one of their own.

A great vet for my labradoodle. Dr. Tanaka and his staff are all very caring and professional people. I feel like my dog has always had expert care and Dr. Tanaka always spends extra time to answer all of my questions. Either his staff or he himself will follow up personally after the visit of there was something a little more serious than a routine checkup. The best around!

Wow I’m grateful I found Dr. Tanaka! My lab/husky Chloe had been vomiting for 2days and since I’d never taken her to a vet before, I had to quickly research online and make a choice of where to take her for care. When I shared that I am currently furloughed, Dr. Tanaka explained my options and the costs so that I could choose what care fit into my budget but that would also set Chloe up on the path to recovery. Instead of rushing into xrays and bloodwork, he started her with an IV of fluids, anti parasite and anti nausea meds, and sent me home with oral meds to administer. He said that may do the trick, and it did! I truly appreciate Dr. Tanaka’s honesty and transparency. I felt like him and his entire staff cared for me and Chloe. They were so kind and were all trekking out to the parking lot to provide updates and options for the clients. This was the best possible experience I could have and I highly recommend this clinic!

SFAC removed a spiral tumor from my 11 yr old dog's belly. Were able to get complete tumor out with clear margins all around. Explained the procedure and results to me fully. My dog had excellent care. Will be taking both of my dogs there going forward.

Dr. Tanaka and his kind staff helped squeeze us in when my regular vet could not see us until the next day. Our sweet dog was critically ill and needed immediate care. Dr. Tanaka was very kind, compassionate, caring and sensitive to our sweet girl and our family's needs. Unfortunately, we lost our girl but the entire situation was handled with kindness and respect.

Better prices than other animal clinics, with a super friendly staff and veterinarians who take special care with the pets they treat. I brought my cat here, who had been acting strange and lethargic all day. He was a total jerk to the vets, yet they handled the situation with professionalism and care. Awesome place.

Our Veterinarian has Alzheimer's and they never warned us, did an unnecessary surgery. Never returning there!

We’ve been going Here for many years and Dr. Tanaka does such a great job with our kitties and especially now that one of them is a hyper thyroid cat. He actually collaborates with an internist and provides me more information to help my cat. I appreciate the helpful staff too!

We started going to Sante Fe Vet clinic about 3 months ago based off a friend’s suggestion. Dr. Tanaka has been amazing and super helpful. He truly cares about our dog and helping us figure out what was wrong. We’re very grateful to have met him. We would definitely recommend anyone going to this vet. The staff is super friendly as well, so thats a bonus.

I have nothing but good things to say about the service I have received from Santa Fe Animal Clinic over the years. Their pricing has always been fair. Dr. Gee was so kind to come to my house to put our beloved dog down. Dr. Gee has retired and Dr. Tanaka has taken over the practice. Dr. Tanaka is very practical, does not try to up sell. He has gone above and beyond my expectations, example he came in on his day off to view an x-ray that was done on my dog and help me select a treatment plan for her. I have referred my friends and family many times to Dr. Tanaka. He is everything I want in an veterinarian caring, compassionate, and practical.

These guys are great! I brought an outdoorsy cat in that I think has never been in a carrier and it was my first time experiencing a cat freaking out in one! More of a dog and horse person. Im very sensitive to animals and their cries ( or screeching I should say lol) but these guys were fabulous and I really appreciated their attention and sensitivity to my budget. Thank you.
