Franklin Ranch Elk Grove, California

After 2 attempts to find a "regular" vet, had an emergency visit at Franklin Ranch. They got us in immediately, and took very good care of us and our dog. Very nice facilities, very friendly and professional staff. We will be making them our normal vet from now on!

We have been there several times with different animals and have always had a great experience!! Thank you too all the dedicated staff. You are invaluable.

I highly recommend Franklin Ranch. My little old man was coughing and very sick, they took him immediately to an oxygen tent, no waiting. My dog had bronchitis and they made me feel like he was the most important patient there, and when he went home they kept check on him! Best vet clinic in my opinion.

Traffic was terrible, they told me to reschedule, but when your baby needs the doctors attention then you keep going hoping you can get there in time. The doc stayed after an extra half hour just to see Daisy... You guys are the best and that's why I come here

Don't go anywhere. If you need top quality veterinary services, this is where you should take your pet...period!!!

It's very good. It's also very expensive. I compared the exact same services (shots) with a friend that uses a different vet. Franklin was more expensive by about 25% . We started going to Franklin because they have a large staff, so it would be east to get appointments. For a while that was the case, now it's fairly easy to get an appointment with a vet tech for such things as a shot. It's currently quite a long wait for an appointment with a veterinarian, last I tried it was over 2 weeks for an opening. I'm flexible so I can go at the last minute if there is a cancelation, but if you need a popular time, it's a wait. It could open back up more post covid pandemic, but that remains to be seen.

Franklin Ranch is AMAZING! I had to put my Rescue Hound Daisy to sleep and they were wonderful. She was only with us for 25 months but it was the best 25 months ever.

A unique and caring place for your pets

I had just adopted a new kitten this last month after my 21 year old cat passed away in 2020. I am very particular in the vet that I have seen in the past due to excellence service and caretaking of our animals. That vet is no longer available. I had called around and tried to find any openings, this one had one the same day I called. I didn’t think I’d be able to find another alternative vet to bring my new kitten to. But here it is. I have to say, the staff seemed happy and welcoming, cared for each patient individually. I was taken care of by Dr. Wheezer and her assistant I didn’t quite catch the name. Absolutely amazing customer service and care for not only my kitten but for myself, interested in anything I had to say in regards to my kitten. They had to give her a routine shot and take some blood for testing, we were in and out in 25 mins tops. Excellent facility! Great staff, clean, a little pricier than some places, but it is WORTH it. We will be coming back for all of my kitten’s needs. Keep up the good work guys, you were all amazing. Front desk staff included! ???? She says thank you in the picture!

Best pet hospital around, bar none!

I would not recommend coming here with a critically ill pet. They may not have the necessary supplies or equipment to support your pet's care. It may be an okay place for preventative care. I wouldn't know, we had to euthanize our dog. Just a tip: Make sure the IV catheter is patent prior to attempting to administering anesthesia or euthanizing medciation. Or at least change the site. Having to be told that "in the morning it was working" is not reassuring. Frankly, it makes you look incompetent when you say words like "I personally made sure it worked this morning."

It took me along time to write this... I had to have my golden doodle put down. By far the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The compassion the staff showed is remarkable. When I do get another dog, the only place I’m bringing the pup will be Franklin Ranch. Thank you Dr. Sutton and staff!!

I took my dog Blu here they did exploratory surgery on him and couldn't find out what was wrong with Blu so before they put Blus insides back and closed him up they decided to call me tell me they couldn't figure out what was wrong with him and told me I should come say goodbye to my best friend. I told them NO you put him back together close him up wake him up and give him to me and I'll take care if him. Blu was back to normal in 3 days time with no thanks to Dr Emily Sutton. It has now been roughly 2 years and Blu is doing wonderful he's is 7 years old with the same love and playfulness as a puppy. I do not recommend Franklin Ranch, I would go to Vista and spend your money there.

We had to euthanasie a cat today and the staff handled everything so professionally and with great compassion making a difficult situation easier to bare.

I love Franklin Ranch and Dr. McKinstry. She is so patient and such a great Veterinarian. We are on our 3rd dog with Franklin Ranch and their care is always fantastic! Last year when I had to make the devastating choice to let our beloved Yorkie go Dr. McKinstry was so comforting and explained everything to me. Even though I was absolutely sobbing, I knew without a doubt that I was making the right decision. Her compassion and empathy are outstanding and very much appreciated. We have a 1 year old Golden Retriever now and she just had her check-up last week. As usual Dr. McKinstry spent about an hour listening and answering my questions and concerns, no matter how big or small. We came up with a plan of care for getting her fixed and having her chip placed and all we should expect after her surgery. Dr. McKinstry is the best and so very much appreciated!

Did our Goldens first exam, went great. They now have in house heartworm testing with results before you leave. We'll be using them for all our Veterinarian services.

I LOVE this vet hospital! The doctors are amazing. I had to put my dog to sleep yesterday, which was unexpected, but bloodwork came back showing acute, late stage renal failure. Dr. Hack was very thorough and exceptionally caring.

Taken a few of my animals here. Most recently, took my cat in for a possible abscess and infection under the chin. Couldn’t diagnose him at all but offered to do lab work for over $500. Ended up choosing antibiotics and hoping for the best (all I could afford). They also injected him with fluids (not sure why, but I’m not a doctor) which ended up causing a huge ball of fluids on his neck that popped and left a gaping hole. Luckily, with some googling and PROPER care that I took into my own hands, he got better. I simply do not trust this vet. I would go to a different vet if you have the option.
