Elsa would have been 17 next month. She had been up my butt since she was a little pup. We were "Peas & Carrots". The morning of New Year's Eve the time had come for her to cross that bridge. My Vet was closed and every other vet I called could not help me. Thankfully the Healing Center was there for us. They had me come right in and showed us so much compassion. I've always heard such good word about them and it wasn't true....THEY ARE EVEN BETTER....

The doctors and staff at Veterinary Healing Center of El Dorado Hills are exceptional. I can call any time, leave a message and get advice. After my Pug had been seen and treated, the doctors make follow up phone calls to check on his recovery and well being. The care and follow up are exceptional. My Rug Arthur can be feeling lethargic and the moment he walks into the office, he is excited to see the staff and doctors. He always knows that care and take good care of him. San Martin

Dr. Brad Cahoon, Dr. Holly Cahoon and Dr. McKerney always take such good care of our Aussie girls! They are very thorough, attentive, and take quality time to explain their diagnosis and treatment plan/options and listen to our concerns. There’s no question they take pride in providing caring, quality service and treatment no matter how minor or major the issue may be. We have great confidence in the doctors at Veteranary Healing Center as well as their entire staff who are always highly responsive, friendly and supportive. Our sincere thanks to all! L & B Toti

Update 7/17/21- I left my first review for the doctors and staff at VHC 3y ago and they DEFINITELY deserve an updated review! The doctors and staff are truly amazing! We have 2 senior pugs and they go above and beyond to provide the best care imaginable. When we relocated here from the bay area six years ago we were looking for an amazing veterinary team and happened to stumble upon one who specialized in brachiocephalic dogs. We hit the jackpot. Dr. Cahoon and all of the staff at VHC bend over backwards and truly care about the health and well being of your animals. He has our pug, Jersey's life at least twice. Diagnosing him with pneumonia and pulmonary hypertension. HUGE shout out to Crystal for going above and beyond. We're so grateful to have the BEST team of people taking care of our dogs. I refer any one and everyone who will listen to me to this wonderful office!! If you're looking for an honest vet who will give you amazing guidance and won't rip you off, VHC is the place for you. Thank you to every single person who works here!! ???????????????????????????????? 2018 - Best veterinarian office ever!

You guys killed my cat. Never accept Gabapentin from them because they won’t tell you the side affects or what it could possibly do to cats. This ignorant vet gave me Gabapentin for my cat’s anxiety and said I could give her small doses intermittently. I only gave her it three times, she was a perfectly healthy girl and then she started having seizures when I stopped giving her the medication and I had to put her down. I had no idea it was the Gabapentin until it was too late. Thanks for taking my girl away from me.

We've been bringing our pets here for many years. Even though there are vets closer to us, we will always make the trip to VHC because of the excellent service we've received, from puppyhood to end of life care. Thank you.

When we moved to the area we did our research to find the best veterinary clinic. The Veterinary Healing Center had great reviews and they are open on weekends (including Sundays)! We chose them & have never regretted our decision. Whenever we’ve had an issue with our dog they have been very proactive- calling to check up on him, etc. Every call I make to them, no matter who answers, seems knowledgeable about my pet. They are the best!

This place is the a epitome of horrible customer service!!! I had an appointment scheduled here for 1030 am and was told to arrive 20 minutes early for paperwork as this was my first experience at the clinic. Upon arriving 25 minutes early I had to wait outside the doors which is understandable due to the Covid situation. While standing second in line at the front door their tech came outside to speak with the person being treated in front of me on three different occasions. I was not acknowledged nor greeted. Approximately 25 minutes after standing second in line out front of their door the same tech came outside and immediately bypassed me going to someone that was sitting on a bench not even near the front door entrance as I had been and whom had just arrived to the location 5-10 minutes prior. When I confronted the tech after she was done with the lady she didn’t even seem to care and continued taking the other woman’s dog inside who had just arrived. To me this type of behavior is unacceptable. Instead of trying to keep my business in EDH to support small business during this time I will instead return to our vet in Folsom “Blue Ravine Animal Hospital” as the care and customer service there has never been an issue.

This is Chiquita, my sweet dog. On in November 2018 she came into my life from Bradshaw Animal Shelter, and on 24 December 2020 my pup got her wings. During my time with her, Veterinary Healing Center in El Dorado Hills served as our regular vet. They accommodated for her special behavioral needs and went out of their was to ensure she received the care she needed in a way that made her comfortable. When her kidneys began to shut down, they were honest about her prognosis, treatment options, and costs. When the time came to put her down, they gave me privacy as I said goodbye to my companion. I lied with her on a bed and held her in my arms as she went. Words cannot describe how thankful I am that they allowed me to be so involved in the process. Through their kind words, honesty, and, most of all, action, they demonstrated their passionate love and empathy towards the animals that enter their office. Thank you to all the staff, for everything. I cannot recommend them highly enough for dog owners.

I have been bringing my pets here for well over a decade. Dr. Cahoon and all of the staff have always been professional and kind. I have always felt taken care of and important. My dogs and cats over the years have always been nervous to visit the doctor, but after interacting with the staff do calm down. I trust these professionals with the care and well being of my animals and I highly recommend them!

I LOVE the Veterinary Healing Center of EDH!! They were the kindest most loving staff with my elder dog Lexi who passed away 2.5 years ago. They were emotional supportive and Dr. Erin McKerney was so loving with Lexi and me. She even called a month after Lexi passed to see how I was. They remember who you and your dog when you run into them outside of the office. I just got a new puppy and there is no other veterinary center I would want to take my little precious fur baby too! Thank you for making her first exam easy for her ????????

Veterinary Healing Center is THE BEST! This recommendation is long overdue, as Dr. Cahoon and The Veterinary Healing Center have been a part of my family’s life for at least 25 years. I have seen this clinic grow into what it is today and I love how forward-thinking their approach is to veterinary medicine - I appreciate knowing that my pet’s needs are being addressed with new innovations in veterinary medicine, and that no stone is left unturned if needed. They take their time to explain thoroughly what is occurring, they give me options for my pets’ care and I always feel an important part of the decision process. The staff is caring, accommodating, and I trust my pets with them completely. Thank you Dr. Cahoon, Dr. McKerney, and everyone at Veterinary Healing Center!

We've been seeing Dr McKerney for over 3 years, first for our Chihuahua Emma and now for our German Shepherd Kylee. Dr McKerney and the other vets helped me make the decision to let Emma go late last year and I will never forget their endless kindness and answering every one of my endless questions. Now during this pandemic, they are doing their best and going above and beyond to make sure Kylee is getting excellent care. We can't forget that they are operating outside all of their normal routines too and they are adjusting to this new normal. I've watched their system evolve over the last few weeks and they are doing a great job at fine tuning the process. They are compassionate and caring, always pleasant to deal with and skilled at treating our pets with the best quality of care. I am especially thankful that they offer supplement and herb treatment as well as Eastern medicine in treating our pets. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a vet in the area. You can't go wrong!

I wish there were more than 5 stars. Dr. Holly and the staff at Veterinary Healing Center go above and beyond. I've been in this area two years and have been to SEVERAL vets before I found one that I trusted and knew about the idiosyncrasies of the greyhound breed. That vet was Dr. Holly. Greyhounds have different physiology and lab values when compared to other dogs. A greyhound savvy vet knows that. As an example, their hearts are larger than other breeds their size and their lab values are different from other dogs. (I had one vet tell me my dog's thyroid levels were low and wanted to start him on thyroid medication. A healthy greyhound's thyroid will always appear low on standard lab results.) Give Veterinary Healing Center a try. You won't be sorry. ( :

They have a great combination of traditional and holistic approaches. All vets and techs we've seen really care about pets and owners. My littles have been attacked by a big dogs twice now????????and I wouldn't go anywhere else if I have a choice. Great for all the regular care our pets have needed too over the years.

I have been taking my elderly Bichon, Stasha, 15 yrs. old, to Vet Healing Center since October 2019. Dr. McKerney has been our vet who has been taking care of my Stasha's acupuncture. She has been very gentle in placing the needles and with the injection following the acupuncture. Stasha actually doesn't mind her placing the needles! Stasha acts like her younger sister who it 8! Dr. Cahoon removed a mass by my Stasha's ear today. They also did bloodwork. Dr. Cahoon phoned me when the procedure was finished with an in depth review of what happened and his suggestions for further care. I appreciate his time being sure that I understood everything. Everyone at the Vet Healing Center has been pleasant, caring and very helpful from making appointments to the acupuncture and mass removal and follow up. I definitely have recommended them to others! 8 y.o. Kona is on the left. 15 y.o. Stasha is on the right. Thank you for taking such good care of my little Stasha!! ????

This was the first visit for my three year old dog. Dr. Richards was very professional and competent. She addressed all of my concerns. I was impressed with the staff too, from the receptionist to the vet tech. My dog was in good hands, and we will be back!
