Petco El Cerrito, California

I came into this store expecting store employees would be able to help me find the best products for my new pet. Instead, I had to navigate the complicated store with a XL crate (FYI the cart doesn't fit through the aisles when there's a crate in it...). When I asked for help, I wasn't directed to someone who could provide me with answers. This is not the PetCo experience I expected. Also, for such a large chain, they don't have a huge variety of products like dog beds, I only found 2 medium sized dog beds to pick from.

I took my pup Guava here for the first time tonight to get a haircut and groom and was sooo pleasantly surprised with the crew that took care of her! Everyone I talked to was friendly, professional and efficient from start to finish. Not only does she look and smell amazing, when I picked her up she was super happy, relaxed, and excited… and she hates getting a bath! Special thanks to Vanessa for treating her so well and doing such a meticulous job :)

I placed an online order and 3 people were standing around talking to each other while I stood there waiting to be helped. First time there not the best customer service

Many shelves were empty or close to it. Aisles were mislabeled as well.

Got a good deal for nylabones! I made the purchase online and pick it up at my local store in el Cerrito. Helpful staff.

Tank full of dead "glo fish" here and some very sad looking "glo" Bettas. Kitties for adoption were adorable.

I found all what I was looking for and the customer service I received from the fish department was outstanding. Definitive I would keep coming back to this store.

The inside has a new, strange configuration. Aisles are not marked like they were. Same good service. Large selection of toys and food for most all types of pets.

Went in and got de-worming medication for my 2 cats. They have a high demand for that kind of medication, so there weren't any on the shelf, but I was in luck and they had some in the shipment they just recieved from their distribution center. It was about $18-19, and it came with 2 doses, one for each of them.

Went there for cat food.BIG MISTAKE. I ended up leaving because thecat food selection was at best,insulting.I felt like the name should be DOGSCO. Poor almost no helpful customer service offered orobserved. First&last time trying to shoo there

I was dumbfounded and shocked. As a business owner I understand the difficult business climate we are in, supply issues and labor shortages. But Petco is a LARGE company with resources. The store was chaos- no help on the floor, product scattered every where. There was no way to even tell if something was even available or out of stock. Not only were the shelves empty (which is understandable) but the floor was filled with merchandise waiting to be shelved. Get staff that wants to be there and pay them enough to keep them happy. Or, are you so close to going out of business that customer service is simply not possible (again, understandable). Simply not worth my time to navigate this chaos, wait 10 minutes in a line to leave with a few items that felt like they were compromises. I will be ordering my needs from Amazon and Chewy in the future.

There is a good selection of items, but most of all there are bargains to be found. Some things are a bit over-priced I think but fortunately I was able to find a great deal and with my rewards I was able to get a better discount on an already good price. For that, I am grateful and my grand-turtle will be very happy this Christmas!~

Best supply of multiple products for multiple pets anywhere in the East Bay by far

The employees, are so awesome, knowledgeable, and friendly. The store had everything I was looking for. I'll be back...

I hate to be mean, but the grooming here is a joke. I took them at their word that they do “breed specific cuts” and even provided a reference picture, and my dog left looking like a victorian england-era orphan. The cut is uneven, literally from head to toe. On top of that, they cleaned and trimmed one ear and not the other? Why?? The people were nice, but my poor puppy looks like dobby the house elf.

They're currently in the midst of a remodel. Still chock full of stuff for your fur babies.

It's a petco, they have what one would expect. A bit messy as all petcos seem now a days. Nothing special.

Really great selection of animals. Great adoption days. So many happy kids in that store. Whenever I go in I see smiles. Keep up the good job guys.

I just had a awful experience in this store I bought a fish tank the day before for GLO fish no one said anything. We came next day after setting the tank waited 30 minutes in the store for some one to get the fish for us, the person that came instead of helping us didn't want to sell the fish said I needed a 20 gallon tank and bla bla for one fish? Why ya sell the fish tank then if it's too small? no one wanted to give us the fish or help us select a bigger tank. Semed like they were mad for working today very rude. We went to PetSmart and got what we needed and more accessories. Good luck y'all just lost a customer.

The manager doesnt seems to care about the customer. I tried to call several times but he hangup on me which was easy way for him not to work. Lazy guy. I not gonna go to petco again and not gonna train my puppy dog.
