Ashton Animal Hospital Downey, California

My dog had a rash looking patch of skin on his stomach went here because they had an appointment available the same day that I called, so I went to get it looked at and hopefully prescribed something to help with the redness and irritation he had. A $40 exam went up to $180+ on unnecessary things. Was told about 4 different medications to treat the area, a vaccine, antibiotics, blood work, and a skin lab test along with like 10 other things, and would of been flea medication but he's on one already. I truly felt robbed by this place, got no answers to what might be going on with my dogs skin and lost $40 my dog already had an exam less than a year before this and wasn't due for one for quite some time. I would recommend Animal Care Clinic at 10404 Rosecrans Ave, Bellflower he's a very honest Dr, doesn't rob you of your money and truly cares if you need an appointment definitely go there, it does get very busy but worth it.

I came into Ashton Animal Hospital last week with a lovely stray dog that I had decided to keep. This poor dog is in really bad condition and needs A LOT of help. The staff at Ashton were so very sweet and helpful. The doctor gave me all kinds of information about the dog’s condition and what steps we would need to take to help her on her way to health. I was sent home with great information/advice, effective medicines, and a general sense of assurance. Pricing was very reasonable and we received wonderful service! We will be coming back regularly! THANK YOU ASHTON STAFF!

Have been coming to Ashton Hospital for the past 3 years when we got our English bulldog Chubbs and continue coming with our newest addition to the family Georgia. Doctor Raj, Dr. P and staff are very polite and always helpful. Thank you for all our pets needs. Tony & Sandra Amaral.

After calling several pet hospitals and being on hold for very long periods of time, my dog was able to be seen in less than a hour. The staff and doctor took very good care of my dog with a follow up phone call the next day. I was very pleased with the services rendered.

A bit pricey but good to my dogs. Update: had a recent bad experience with my elderly dog. Just took her in for a rabies shot because I had to pay for her license. This vet did an exam WITHOUT telling me in advance and charged me for it. Then she proceeded to recommend hundreds of dollars worth of tests and meds. They also took FOREVER with her as I'm sitting in a scorching car because we're not allowed in. I didn't ask for anything but a rabies shot! It's not the first time my dog goes to this vet. No excuse for this!

Took my bull terrier and small terrier here for shots. A little expensive but good service.

Went for a rabies vaccine. Did not receive one as dr irudayaraj wanted to treat my pet for some other issues. Paid the $40.00 office visit and went home without a vaccine. Lesson learned. Stay with who you know.????

Lovely staff and caring doctors. Always comforting coming here as I know my Pets Benny and Nala are always taken care of.

Since HEMA IRUDAYARAJ has been the Vet from this place we’ve had nothing but bad experiences. I go for a teeth cleaning estimate, they want me to spend $400... I decline a few unnecessary things comes out to $288... they call me while I’m waiting outside and said they gave my cat a shot for pain because they were trying to take urine out and had him on his back. They also wanted to sell me pain medication and I said no until I see the cat and he was fine. He did not need pain medication. After that day we never received the estimate for teeth cleaning and when they called to confirm the appointment for teeth cleaning we told them we never received the teeth cleaning estimate. They act surprised that we didn’t receive the estimate and said they will email it. We receive the estimate and it’s $800 - $1,000. That is just ridiculous. This place only cares about profit now. We’re looking for another place. Everybody be careful.

They were great with my dog Bentley. Bentley is 10 years old and started to decline in his health, but they did everything they could do help him every way possible to ensure he wasn't in any pain. We will continue to take Bentley and our cats to Ashton Animal Hopsital. They even gave him a nickname "fire cracker". ???? ????

Very friendly and professional!! They are appointment only! Which is awesome because not alot of random dogs that scare my own pup.

Great customer service, easy to set an appointment up, they will take extra steps for you to wait outside while they check your dog due to covid, was in and out in almost effortless manner, and they were very knowledgeable with questions that I had for my dog!

Not happy at all with there services

I will start my review by saying that I never review by emotions I review by personal experience, as I understand negative reviews can impact a business, but transparency is always important so that the public can make and educated choice. My rating is based on my pet (Cat) that I took to this clinic for the first time, he went through the battery of tests (blood and x-ray) for a breathing issue. I agreed to blood work and x-ray so that the vet can have all the diagnostic tools she requested, after I was called for pick up of my pet, received a call from the Doctor about an hour after, she explained blood work showed no problems, not sure she said anything about what the x-rays showed, I was sent home with some anti-inflammatory medication, ear drops and what look like a trial vial of flea treatment. I followed the instructions for the meds and started treatment on my cat, as directed, almost a month into treatment I notice the symptoms where still present, not as severe, but still present, I called the clinic asked for the vet and she advised I continue the treatment, and used the word Bronchitis for the first time, the communication in my opinion was not clear, as I was asking if I needed a refill on the med as it had expired, no refill was offered. Now in January, my pet continues to have issues and I requested his medical records so that I can take him elsewhere for a second opinion. I have no doubts this is an excellent clinic for some and there were no issues with the courtesy of the Vet and the staff, but for me in particular I did not get the results I expected and I understand every situation is different by that is my honest opinion. To agree with a fellow reviewer here, the cost for my visit and treatment, was close to $1,000.00 , so is a bit unnerving to not have seen any improvement on my pet, and to not have receive or offered alternative treatment, specially if it is being indicated that the treatment provided was not working as prescribed.

Never going back again ! Bad experience, the doctor doesn't even know what she's doing , toke my dog in and after almost 4 hours she didn't know what was wrong with him and aside from that she gave him pills for what she might think he has not even being sure , and i even referred someone there thinking it was good place but after going here they toke their dog somewhere else and turned out that their dog had something more serious then what the doctor in this place said

Great staff. Answered all my questions without hesitation. Treated my kitten and puppy very well.

The staff was friendly and staying safe. Everybody with an appointment waits in the car and the staff gets your pet and they keep you on the phone and discuss treatments with you and then they bring your pet out and you just give them your card, sign and pay! And done!

Terrible place. Vet was useless and told me I could only ask one question per visit

The experience was underwhelming. I arrived and had to wait a long time to be seen. During the consultation the Vet and assistant kept being called out to handle other customers. The bright spot was the receptionist. She was attentive kind and not at fault for the less than stellar service. The worse part was the bill. I have two dogs and have used a very good animal hospital clinic for the past 10 years where I used to live. So, I'm familiar with pricing. This clinic pricing is very high compared to others.

Thank you Ashton Family for all your help. Dr.Raj has been there for my pets since the beginning. The dr never fails to examine my baby thoroughly. She always recommends what's best for my pet's health. The receptionst/ technicians are very sweet and knowledgeable. They always treat me and my babies like family.
