El Dorado County Animal Services Diamond Springs, California

Had a very unpleasant experience here today. I went in to report that we found a dog. We have been taking care of it and desperately looking for it's owner. I was talking to the very nice gal at the front counter filling out paperwork. Then as we were talking, another woman just showed up from a room behind the counter. Started talking to me like I did something wrong. Very very rude. She really was talking to me like she was already mad at me. Never seen her in my life. I was there to do right by the dog. I have her name and title and will be making a formal complaint. I hope that she is not an example of who the folks at the shelter are. I do not think so.

I was desperately looking for my 22+ year old cat that had gone missing & we knew it was near her end of life. I was notified that Animal Control had her & to come immediately. I was able to come in, see her sweet soul & be with her before she passed away. I am so incredibly thankful for this opportunity to be able to say goodbye to her. Thank you so much El Dorado County Animal Control & all that you do. Your staff was all so compassionate & understanding. Outside of this, the facility is awesome. They do tons of yard time with the dogs, the adoption areas are great to get to know you new future fur babies. Staff is so nice ! If you are looking for a new best friend I would definitely go here to give a fur babie a 2nd chance at love!

Don’t take animals here, they do not care about them. They would rather euthanize them over placing them in a home. Horrible experience. El Dorado County needs to do better.

My dog got out of my yard and ended up here. Everyone was so kind and helpful. They also have a beautiful facility. All the staff were very knowledgeable. I did have to pay fees, and they license and chip your pet so they are safer if it happens again. Thank you to everyone who helped. Ellie Mae and family really appreciate it!

Due to the cow door fire and subsequent evacuations I had to put my cats in boarding at the animal shelter they seemed quite nice and very organized despite the fact that lots and lots of pets are there due to the fires so far I am pleased

It was great, we went in looking for a kitten to surprise our kids and was torn between 2. Service was quick and easy. Very polite staff.

My friend recently had her dog picked almost 2 weeks ago. This facility would not let her see or release her dog to her. Today when they decided to give her her dog back, they charged her over $600 . They never gave any paperwork as to what the $600 was for. I myself would have questioned it. I goigled other counties and it was no more than $50 to get your dog back.$600 are you kidding me. This county's ordinance is corrupt

Volunteers were amazing. We picked 2 female dogs that were surrendered together. Breed description should have said "All American". We fell in love with the pair and are glad we made the drive from Roseville to Diamond Springs. The facility was nice and the people working there truly ???? animals. Thank you.

My daughter and her friends let out our pit/lab puppy from the yard and we ended up finding her at this shelter. We were so upset not knowing if she was okay or not. The employees there were SO HELPFUL, kind, and very understanding. They saved us more money than we thought, gave us great advice and took care of our sweet baby. One of the best shelters we have ever experienced. If we could give them 10 stars we would. Thank you Eldorado County Animal Services for all the hard work you do to save all these precious animals

Went to pay for dog licenses and the person helping me was efficient and very nice.

Great shelter for the community

Very nice Animal Shelter that cared for my dog when I was out of town and the neighbor was suppposedly taking care of him.

They lied to us about our dog. Cant keep there stores straight. Shame on them! Just because you like a dog, doesnt mean you just take them because you know some one at the "pound". Did you think that she was just a dog! WRONG! She has a family that loves her. You stole her last years from us. We will always be her" pack family" . Dont judge people from rumors. Stop lying! Beware! Of this place.
