Smokey always gets great care here. All staff are very professional and take the time to answer queations and explain. The receptionist is particularly good. Always positive, professional, and accomadating.

Noisy and very active in waiting area ... good news was you could get into the waiting area with your pet and didn't have to wait down in the parking lot ...

I recently had to make the decision to put my elderly dog down. The staff understand that these moments are just as important as they are fragile. They did their best to provide a quiet, comfortable space for me and my dog. They explained the procedure to me, and respectfully provided us with as much time as we needed. I appreciated their help and communication throughout the entire process. Thank you so much!

Love this family oriented vet. Entire staff is kind and had empathy when you are worried about your pup. Nail clipping is easy and my BC usually is a big baby. Not here. He is treated with gentle techs that know how to trim dogs nails. Love this place.

Dr Johnson and the ladys who work for him are the best in the word,I almost lost my roxy reu but thay saved her life,am a55year old man and it truly brings tear to my eyes three years later. Go to the best forget the rest! Thanks again guys roxy - joey

I have only been here one time and the staff at the front was great and Dr. Jill was AMAZING. I was thrilled that I had found a great vet close to home. Josh Brown on the other hand, wow, what a rude and angry little man. My dog got nicked or razor burn on his wee wee (OC Groomers, Dana Point), I tried on my end with sprays and a cone but it got worse so I took him here. I sent the groomer a picture of the bill and she called Josh who then told her my dog had been in for allergies, when in fact it was a bacterial infection. Josh denied it but at this point its his word against the groomer. The kicker is he would barely let me speak, was rude, condescending and told me if I didn't like it to go tell the Better Business Bureau and animals aren't protect under HIPPA (obviously Josh!). Well, Josh you got it, I will let people know! I tried to bring up AVMA and he got even ruder and then hung up on me. So basically, the front staff was sweet, Dr Jill was awesome and instead of having a great vet close by I will continue to make the drive to Newport Beach Animal Hospital where my pet and I are treated like valued customers.

Went in to have my 12 year old pug checked for fleas. They messed up my dogs medication and he suffered for a month with fleas. Gave us wrong instructions. Hard to get hold of. They have stairs so beware if your dog is elderly. The front desk does not know what the doctors do. They do not input on their computers dr. notes. So if dr is not in your out of luck. My dog developed a cough after suffering from the fleas for a month. Took my dog back for a recheck and to find out why he was coughing. $300.00 later my dog is very sick. They gave him an anti inflamatory shot and sent us home. I finally went to another vet. A mobile vet that came to my house. He gave my dog some antibiotics and my dog is better. Will never go back to Dana Niguel. I do have to say there was one assistant that was helpful. But the rest of the staff sucked. They even made me wait outside on coast hwy with my sick elderly dog. NOT COOL!

They do care about the animals they serve - they tend to overbook appts so you have to wait longer than expected for your visit from early morning to mid afternoon

2014 did surgery for torn crucial muscle, English Labrador contracted Staph Infection during surgery. They kept her for four months trying to treat, not telling me that she needed to have leg removed. By The Grace of God I took her to Specialist in San Diego, he told me that I would have lost her in another five days as Staph had eaten through bone and was almost at blood stream. I Thank God every day, she is a Tripod, has been for almost four years and I still have my amazing, loving companion, no th as his to Dana Niguel!
