Wow! I had the most amazing experience at this pet hospital for my 8 month old baby dog Obi. They were kind, responsive and caring, and the bill wasn’t even as much as I expected for a Sunday Holiday weekend. Staff was so friendly! Highly recommended!!!

We started bringing our puppy to Cotati VCA 6 months ago and have had no problem with routine visits when we can make appts. ahead of time. I wasn't aware though, that they really aren't staffed for emergencies even when things come up during office hours (this is not clear from their website where it says to give them a call during office hours). They've refused to see our puppy multiple times due to having no availability and directed us to use the Rohnert Park or Santa Rosa location instead. Our puppy has been dealing with stomach problems for months and last week vomited and had blood in his stool, but when we tried calling them to get advice on these urgent matters, we were told out vet was not in for a week so we would need to speak with a vet tech. We didn't get a call back until 15 mins before they closed and they were not concerned (multiple times prior when we've called for advice on if our puppy needed to be seen, they've neglected to call us back for more than 24 hrs). We ended up taking our puppy to the Santa Rosa VCA location after calling them because they suggested he be seen urgently - turns out was dehydrated and had a high white blood cell count. Although we've enjoyed our routine visits with the kind vets at this location, we've had multiple experiences now where we unfortunately just don't feel like they care and they are unable to make time for our puppy when urgent situations come up.

Every visit we brought in our puppy or cat they add charges and exams we don't ask for. They don't tell us they're going to do it and slap the bill on you. Also has happened to a close friend of ours and we are tired of the miscommunication.

There are no words to express how amazing the entire staff is! After having the same Vet for 21 yrs, I was very nervous about finding another Vet. I'm beyond pleased with my choice. My rescue girl "Lemon" is a bit timid and they are incredible with her. We've been with them for about three years and it's been three great years. They are so kind, gentle and etc. I HIGHLY recommend them!

Dr. LEAVEY is the very Best vet around! She has the experience and knowledge to always give you the very best advice and treatment. I will go to her until she retires... and hopefully she'll keep being my vet, forever.

Customer service and safety protocals are in place to protect all family members

Our experience with this Hospital when we had to have our beloved Diamond euthanized was incredibly compassionate. Everything was done with such tenderness and caring. The doctor and staff made this experience so peaceful and painless for her. We were very touched by the beautiful personal card sent to us a couple of weeks later with a paw print of Diamonds as a keepsake and filled with loving messages from the staff and doctor.

I am very happy with VCA Cotati. Staff are efficient and helpful. Vet techs are great. Dr Leavy is wonderful. Unfortunately, they are Veterinarian under staffed since the VCA purchase. This has caused me to use other facilities in a pinch.

The best! All our animals have gone there.

Even though it had to be limited contact they had a window open in the exam room so I could see in and talk with them. My dog is super timid with meeting new people, but personally felt they really took the most time they could to calm him and let him warm up before they started feeling his leg (he had a sudden limp), the price was also great compared to what I expected to pay. So thankful and satisfied will definitely be returning!

So wonderful. They have cared for our 3 dogs and have been amazing. We just had to put down our 16 year old terrier and they were fantastic. They have always been so caring and accommodating. They really care. Dr. Mercado is Super Woman. Highly recommend Animal Hospital of Cotati.

Generally pretty good. This time went there for a booster shot, took the dog in, and 5 min later they came out and said they said they ran out last week and forgot to call us. Wasted trip.

Good and caring people i wouldnt take my little guy anywhere else

I LOVED vet hospital of Cotati and have taken my dog there for years however, was unaware that the business was sold and upon trying to get an appt (always got same or next day) was given a week out availability. This happened a few times over the last year. Unfortunately, found out that most of the vets left after change of ownership. Staff has always been wonderful, kind and caring. My one very large pet peeve was the massive increase in the pricing of medicine. I guess that is what to expect with a national vet chain. It is with a sad heart that I now have to find a new vet.

I love that you can see and talk to your pet while they get checked; Covid has made vet visits difficult, but VCA Cotati has done a fantastic job of getting our pets healthy during this time. Great location with a caring staff.

Always great! We saw Dr. J. Mercado. She fit us in at the end of a busy day. We thought we were going to lose our Lab tonight, but he perked up and Dr. Mercado put him on some more meds. Our lab is her old friend and she was awesome. So grateful to Dr. Mercado and Virginia for making this happen. It will now be a Merry christmas. Thank you!!!!

We have been patients there for 2 years, but when my little dog was very sick they refused to see her when she needed to be seen although it was during office hours because they were “too busy.” A vet who takes care of well dogs are everywhere. A vet who will help and show compassion when he or she is needed is a good vet and a good human being. I need someone who cares about my beloved pet, not just see her when it’s convenient for him or her. I will not return and will look for another vet.

Was my favorite of all time, sad they sold to VCA. Feel as if the local angle will probably fade to corporate ownership. Meanwhile, they care and they are communicative.... that is a leg up on most of the others.

Super friendly and accommodating office! I made a mistake and brought my cat in over the weekend as a walk-in because I thought they took them and they were so nice and were able to squeeze me in. My cat had an abscess and one of the doctors actually dealt with it on her lunch. I also learned that I apparently have an issues with needles when I was in the office. I almost fainted and it was beyond embarrassing but everyone was so nice and considerate. It was meant to just be a one time emergency thing but I will honestly probably switch all my cats over here.

Dr. Hinkle, at the Animal Hospital of Cotati, is so knowledgeable regarding holistic/natural treatments. She treated 2 of my kitties from youth to death and got me thru diffucult times. When each kitty went to the Rainbow Bridge, I went to a special, home-like room, sat on a couch and welcomed her and my kitty to join me. She had prepped the cat and covered up the area where, when I was ready, she completed the process and I continued to pet my little guy and watched him go to sleep peacefully as he crossed over.

We are so happy that we switched to this animal hospital. The staff is so caring and helpful. The services we have received for our three dogs have been excellent. I would highly recommend the VCA Animal Hospital of Cotati to anyone needing excellent care for their animals. So happy we switched!!

I switched to this Animal Hospital to be closer to home and just more convenient, but it was the best switch I could have possibly made. The staff here is always so friendly and wonderful with my animals. I have two dogs who are rescues and can be a little timid with people, but the staff here know how to approach and get my dogs to fall in love with them. They are very good at helping me keep up with their vaccinations and general care. Bonus: they're open on weekends. However, not all services are available on weekends, so if it's something that needs immediate care or treatment they may refer you to the nearby VCA Rohnert Park which is open 24 hours and more prepared for emergencies. For general care and treatment though, Animal Hospital of Cotati is my choice!
