You know it’s a good vet when you pull up and your dog gets all excited with her tail whipping all over the place. I also completely trust them with my cat. They know us by name and are always great- friendly, knowledgeable, affordable - I’ll be coming here forever and highly recommend them.

Does not value client's time. I have two pets and have had several appointments over the past six months. I have always had to wait at least 30 minutes PAST the scheduled appointment time to be seen. Additionally, there seem to be some communication issues among the staff. There have been multiple instances where my pet's medications were forgotten or I was given the wrong dose and had to come back to resolve the issue. They really put the onus on the client to manage the pets regular medications, rather than providing comprehensive service. Furthermore, front desk does not seem to be organized. They have mis-scheduled my requested appointments on multiple occasions.

This was my puppy’s go to vet while I lived in Coronado. The care she received was exceptional and would recommend this hospital to anyone. Thank you so much!

Spent thousands of dollars at this vet for my dog, Gracie. She had a surgery on her bladder, as a very young dog. Called to get her record sent for the surgery to my new vet on the east coast and they don't have it. They don't use a computer system and purge their records after three years! My dog was a patient there for eight years. They were also using Cystocentesis to get urine from her for years without even telling me!! Makes me livid to this day. Keep in mind, a very transient place like Coronado for Navy folks, if you move, they PURGE your records! Ridiculous. It's 2020 for the love of God! Lord knows your prices aren't cheap.

I can't say enough about Dr.Stone and her staff. She totally nailed it, my dog was treated for dental issues at Purple Paws pet clinic, and he actually had an auto immune disease. Thank you Dr. Stone for saving his life. He is so much better.

I’ve taken both my dogs here and the vet is very friendly, understands financial situation, and truly makes you feel comfortable and like your pets are in good hands. Can’t say enough good things about this place

The doctor speaks to the animal as opposed to speaking directly to you. You're chargef for items not explained to you. Very ecpensive!!!!!

First off, I wanna say that the staff is friendly and was very helpful. I brought my kitten there for some vaccines and a check up, and they were patient, educational, and I got exactly what I needed. One thing that bothered me is that they were not transparent with charging me for certain services, I am totally ok with you charging things that my kitten needs to be healthy. However I am not ok with someone making it sound like they were just “showing me how to cut my kittens nails” and then throwing extra $20 on my bill. I’m sure it’s a common business tactic but it makes me trust this place a lot less, and makes all the smiles seem fake.

I used to bring my cat here 20 years ago! Now I have a young rescue dog and they have been just as great as I remember from back then. I only have them 4 stars since we've only been twice so far and neither time did I leave feeling gouged or nickeled and dimed. They are really nice, mostly run on schedule and are fair priced.

I would like to thank Dr. Jarvis and the team at Coronado Veterinary Hospital for their wonderful treatment of my cat, Kimmie, during her extended illness. Dr. Jarvis was incredibly empathetic and understanding, compassionate and caring, gentle and kind. I've been to vets that try to charge as much as possible; she isn't one of them. While attempting to diagnose my very sick cat, she made a real effort to recommend only tests that were necessary, and was cost-conscious. For instance, my cat arrived anemic. After a week of treatment, the follow up could have been a $200+ "anemia panel". Instead, she recommended that they do an inexpensive ($30) 5 minute in-house test to see if Kimmie was still anemic/if she was improving, and then, only if necessary, do the additional testing. It turned out we didn't need that $200+ test after all. She actively researched my cat's condition, discussed differential diagnoses with the other vet (Dr. Stone), and either 1) Called me herself, on multiple occasions, to check the status of Kimmie, or 2) took my phone calls/called me back promptly. I don't know many vets who are so actively involved or care enough to do their own follow up. My cat's condition progressed to the point where she needed to be euthanized due to quality of life/poor prognosis (0 hope of recovery). It unfortunately happened on a day this veterinary hospital closed early. Dr. Jarvis called me after they were closed and, understanding the urgency of the situation, kindly referred me to another veterinarian (Purple Paws Pet Clinic) down the road. I wish that Dr. Jarvis had been the one to help Kimmie during her final moments, because my experience at the Purple Paws Pet Clinic was awful. They are NOT kind, compassionate, sensitive, or understanding. They put Kimmie, and subsequently me, through unnecessary pain. It was bad "luck" that this happened on a day/during a time that Dr. Jarvis was not able to assist me and Kimmie herself. I want to make it clear that my cat's death was not due to any lack of trying/care/service/malpractice/anything bad from Coronado Veterinary Hospital/Dr. Jarvis. My cat's death was due to the natural progression of a fast moving disease process. Dr. Jarvis & the team did everything they could, and went above and beyond what I expect from my local vet. GO HERE. SEE DR. JARVIS. Do NOT go to the Purple Paws Pet Clinic.

I have to believe the person writing a one star review has an ulterior motive (competition, payment, something). I have brought my cat, Pigpen, here for 10 years, and my dog, Baron, for 5. The stability of the same doctors year after year, kind employees, and excellent care keeps me coming back. Yes, they are more expensive than other vets. Yes, they are busy and may forget to call you to notify you that some medication came in yesterday. However, they also don't waste your time or money. What they do, the will charge appropriately for based on their quality and location. They won't however, do anything unnecessary, and will actively steer you from seeking unnecessary (read expensive) care that will provide little to no benefit. Especially with my Siberian Husky that has a lot of food and digestion problems, they have taught me how to bring him from a sick, 20 pound underweight, stray that was a repeat offender at the county animal shelter. Now he is ideal weight, running, healthy, and happy. His digestion is excellent and his attitude is Huskellent! I am happy to be moving from San Diego, but sad to leave behind these vets.

We have been going to this vet for over 10 years. Dr. Stone is the best... We trust her completely. I highly recommend for all dog owners. Our dog is not just a dog to us, she is a part of our family and Dr. Stone understands that and feels the same way.
