I took my 17yr miniature Weiner dog Benny in bc it was time and he was ready to take his final nap. Benny was a true legend… we are from Miami FL and moved here 7 years ago so he got best of each coast. He would dig for hours while I surfed dog beach and still be ready to hit all the breweries at night, then do it all over again the next day with an epic hike. This being the most difficult thing a dog owner has to do, they made it fairly simple and easy. They leave you alone most of the time to have your last moments with your pet. Feel free to ball your eyes out bc I did and they had tissues on hand and they put you alway from all the action in the office. They do work with a company that does Cremation and the paw print in clay. I miss my dog so much and wish it didn’t have to be like that burn it was time and he was in pain. Also don’t drive yourself. I had to take 2 breaks to go 1.6 miles I do plan to start bringing my other 2 Loki and Scrappy in for check ups. This seems like a good place to go.

Caution! This vet does not take pet emergencies. So why would they offer it through their phone line or website? The front desk just told us that they don’t have emergency services. Your system is broken! FIX IT!

I took my dog here since she was sick. I've had issues with most other local vets and was tired of being disappointed. Fortunately, these guys didn't disappoint! They were extremely professional, caring, and very nice! It didn't cost me an arm and a leg and they are cheaper than any other vet I've been to so far. I really loved that they explained the whole exam process to me and were very upfront about what they would be doing and why. I am very impressed with this Vet clinic and highly recommend.

Saturday: my dog was fine. He began to feel sick Saturday afternoon. Throwing up. Sunday: still sick. But began to feel a little better Then became more sick late Sunday night Monday: I called VCA Bonita animal Hospital. I stated I have an I'll dog and needs to be seen asap. They refused to help. They said they have no open appointments. Advised I take him to an emergency hospital. I frantically called emergency hospitals. They were filled to capacity. We found one that squeezed us in. This was a shotty emergency office. He was given antibiotics and sent home. I called his other vet in Temecula. Advised to bring him in to be hospitalized. Tuesday: I brought him in. He was hospitalized. Advised that due to escalated treatment needs, he would need to be transferred to Veterinarian Specialty Hospital. We transfered him Wednesday: No improvement in elevated kidney values Thursday: He had begun to have blood clots. They lodged in his lung and he passed away. Do not call and ask Bonita Animal Hospital for help. They could care less. They need to hire more dr's and staff to meet the needs of their work load. This is unacceptable and disgusting how they won't take your sick animal and make you wait 3 weeks for an visit. They had the nerve to send me a flyer and phone call the following Thursday reminding me of his upcoming vaccination. They didn't bother to follow up on his condition. They could care less. I will never ever take another animal here. #ImDoneWithVCA

My problem isn’t so much of the back staff but rather the front staff . First encounter: my pup had an appointment and we obviously had to call in our parking number, no one ever answered the phone for a good solid 20 mins. I even walked up to the door (knowing I can’t go in) and made my self visible to let them know someone was waiting . The receptionist just shrugged me off. Second : was today 6/30/21, my husband called to just order our pups usual tick/flea med and heart worm med , leaving a message twice but NEVER receiving a call back . I mean I understand the business but this call went out to them at 9am, they literally had til the end of the day to call . We also got a new pup who we were going to have checked there as well , but I’m pretty much rethinking it because of the lack of communication from the front staff .

We've been clients at VCA Bonita for several years, the staff has always been friendly and helpful. We appreciate the follow-up calls they perform (especially with our Border collie Coco being recently diagnosed with diabetes). You all are doing a great job, thank you so much! Dion Braxton

Professional services from start to finish. You're greeted with the best attitude and a willingness to answer any and all questions you may have. They're not driven by numbers, but rather care for you and your pet. I highly recommend.

Everyone is so patient and kind and treats my pet with love and compassion, plus they got Covid safety down! I stayed in my car she's was able to virtually see my pets visit through an app

Took my eggs dog here to get shots. They are great with animals... he's usually so afraid of things like this but he was fine with them... bunny

Very helpful staff, social distancing makes the experience more complicated, which isn't their fault!

Your scheduler does not care about your pets needs nor your any availability to accommodate your schedule, such as a sooner appointment instead of being 3 weeks out for a sick pet, not hardly ill, or because your scheduler confused the appointment date and your pet is due for their shot and now its an inconvenience to them for you to show up??? Didn't even bother to allow me to finish my sentence. I want to like VCA bonita animal hospital but whats up with your customer service? Your vet staff is helpful and friendly but your scheduler is the ultimately the voice of the company. Food for thought.

Had a 7AM drop off scheduled for my dog and was assured they would take him at 7AM. I'm in the parking lot at 7AM and called the desk and the receptionist said, sorry no one is here to take him. After waiting while she called her supervisor she said she would come out and get him and had to be quick because she had other calls on hold. Waited another 10min and then just left because I had to go to work. This place has become completely disorganized and it can't be blamed on COVID anymore.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I called in with questions regarding appointment availability and if they offered emergency services. I spoke with MAYA who was extremely rude and unprofessional when we were speaking. She had an attitude throughout our entire interaction and was very unhelpful. I would never bring my pet to a place that hires such disrespectful employees.

I have been using VCA for a few years now in a different states and cities too and this one is the worst! They don’t listen at all and try to scam you in getting all these unnecessary services for your pet they don’t need and charge you outrageous prices for them, do your research and speak up! Unless you like unnecessary treatments for your pets and being scammed and losing your money than go here. Zero stars if I could. My senior dog who is my service dog and I were treated poorly here

Super friendly and helpful staff. All of our animals have been here one time or another and they always treated them like family.

I took my two newly adopted pups in for a wellness check and they came out happier than ever! Pricing is clear but they do not pressure you into testing or treatments that you don't feel necessary. The vet called me in the parking lot and went into detail about their current health and even sent us home with a little welcome bag of goodies and resource materials. Love it here!

VCA Animal Hospital has been here for many many years. For over 30 years we have taken our pets to them for both routine and emergency treatment. Highly recommend.

We absolutely love VCA Bonita! They are so welcoming every time we take our fur babies there, and the Veterinarians make my babies feel safe and comfortable! The staff is always kind and professional! I have had horrible experiences with veterinary clinics in the past, but VCA Bonita goes above and beyond our expectations!!!

Pandemic time: Appointment only. Drive up only. Park, then call them. Give them your parking space number. Nurse comes to get your pet.

Not 5 star only because they were running behind, 30 minutes just to get a room. Other than that, everyone that we dealt with was super friendly and seemed genuinely happy. We were here for vaccine updates, and the price here seemed quite reasonable. Would recommend Bonita Animal Hospital

Great! More affordable than a few other places I checked around my area. They were very nice and took great care of my kitty and also my dog. They went over findings after exam and got an approval by me before doing anything. This way there were no surprise charges. I loved that. Highly recommend.

My schnauzer, Zeus, had a severe grand mal seizure at 1:30 am. My husband and I were sound asleep and woke up immediately, picked up our dog and took him to VCA Animal Medival Center in El Cajon, the closest vet hospital that was open 24 hours. We met Dr. Ted Townsend there and he took our dog to the back to examine him. Dr. Townsend told us it possibly could be a brain tumor judging from the damage he could see. There was nothing we could do but end his suffering by helping him cross over the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Townsend seated us in a large room that had a couch, and I got to hold Zeus and comfort him. Dr. Townsend told me to take my time and he would be back to check on us. He came back several times to make sure we were okay and then when I told him I was ready, he gave Zeus the final shot while he was asleep on my chest, where he slept every night with ne. Dr Townsend checked for a heartbeat and told me he was gone. Dr Townsend treated us like we were the only patients in the hospital that night, not rushing us at all. Then he carried Zeus to my car and laid him in the back seat. By then it was almost 3 am. I appreciate the kindness Dr Townsend showed us and how patient he was with us. This is one veterinarian I will never forget. Thank you, Dr Townsend for taking care of Zeus and doing everything you could to help us in the middle of the night. Dr. Townsend is worth the drive to the VCA Bonita Animal Hospital where he is now working.
