My granddaughter's fur baby passed away we wanted to get it cremated. I called on the phone that my daughter was on her way they took all my information I told them she was 5 to 10 min out. 5 minutes later they call me and say they are closing and she was not there yet. I told the they she was at the corner and will be there any min. And also they don't close till 5:30 and it was 5:17 and I had already did all the paperwork she just needed to pay. I was told they wanted to go home early. I told them you are open till 5:30 and all you need to do is take the money and the body. My daughter got there by 5:20 they came to the door and told her they shut down their systems and would not help and did not care what the family was going through. If you love your pets this is not the place to go.

I had a very good visit taking my grandson here for her booster shots. The vet tech was extremely friendly which made my visit a pleasure.

Technician Jes Williams was very professional, attentive and answered all my concerns for my daughters mini Poddle Zuko. I got the vaccination package with a chip at a great value. Thanks Jes.

I loved this place and would recommend it to all my family and friends I won’t anymore . But the guy that answers the phone will not even let you finish your sentence and will always make it impossible for me to book an appointment for my dog’s upcoming vaccines. It’s always hard and it’s the same guy giving me a hard time. I have to always call back and wait for someone else to answer. If you don’t like your job find a new one stop making it impossible for people.

These people truly care about animals and their owners! I love the staff and veterinarians here. After having a horrible experience with Point Loma Vet unable to get an appointment with these guys- my usual vet despite being far away from where I live I know I can still always call them for advise on the health of my dog. If the vet is unable to answer the phone I can guarantee he/she will call me back or relay a message to keep me and the concern for my pup at ease! They care about their clients advising affordable products even if they are unable to provide alternate options my vets here have always given me a list of where to find items to make sure my dog is receiving optimal care. Thank you Humane Vet Hospital of San Diego-love you guys!!!

Just took my dog in for a simple analysis since he might need to be neutered, they took almost 2 hours and returned my dog like this, one nail completely cut and bleeding the other not even touched, they said nothing about it and I just discovered it once getting home.

Will adjust this review if and when I get a response. I first want to state that HV (Humane Vet) has been great with our dog, and they have always been great. My true and honest review of them would be a 5 star rating, but as of right now, I have a small issue to which they have been unresponsive and hardly any assistance at all has come from them. Here is the issue at hand; we frequently were getting our dog's supply of fleas & ticks meds (nextguard) from them. A few months ago we were informed by HV that they would no longer be able to supply or fulfill that prescription, and that we should get in contact with Chewy.com for them to be able to supply it and fulfill the prescription. It was explained to us that chewy would reach out to them HV, and that they would approve the prescription, but that chewy would fulfill it. Well here we are in present time. Chewy has made several attempts to reach HV thru call and email, and HV has not responded, so our order has been cancelled 3 times. I don't understand why they would reference us to chewy, but then be unresponsive to their calls and emails. If you guys fix it, I will also fix this review. If there is no resolution, let the reader beware that HV does not care to assist, help or honor their recommendations. But more than anything HV would in essence be telling us to take a hike!

The "drop off apt. Is fitting them in between surgery.." that is the WORST thing. My dog waited for 3 hours with no updates from the vet on when she would be seen. All I got was "we close at 5 so before then. " No way was I keeping my dog there for 8 hours!

I called and told them that my dog was at a different vet. I knew what she needed, X-rays and blood work. I wanted a quote or at least a ball park estimate for these things to compare pricing. If they were even $1 less I would have taken my business to them. The guy on the phone would not give me any sort of quote at all. I understand not giving exact quotes but nothing at all seems absurd. I was fully prepared to bring them my business but he blew it.

If you care for your pet, this is not the Vet to take them to. My pet has seizures and MUST take medication for it. This is the Vet hospital that prescribed it to him. Ive tried to get the Vet to prescribe more than a months at a time but they wont because they say it is "illegal". I check with other Vets and the pharmacy who said its normal to get a multi month supply. This week Ive called numerous times (6+) over 3 days to renew his prescription because I am almost out of their pills. Finally 3 days later they told me that they would call a weeks worth in because the Dr wants to do any exam before they will prescribe any more. I feel that they just want to do an exam, run some tests, etc. to get more money out of me. Other time Ive called their office and got VERY poor service or an attitude from whoever answered the phone. I will be switching Vets. DONT GO TO THESE people.

I take my pet to Humane Vet, but won’t anymore! All I needed was a refill for her flea meds, but after 5 phone calls, including two asking to speak to the manager, I’ll find another vet. 1st phone call requesting a refill, I spoke to Kelly, no one calls or texts back. I wait two weeks, the 2nd phone call requesting the same refill, spoke to Kelly, no one calls or texts back. After three days, I call a 3rd time, spoke to a woman, didn’t get her name, I explain it’s my 3rd call, the woman says she’ll tell her manager, but I still need the refill, and no one calls back or texts. I wait 2 days and call again (4th call), I spoke to a woman, and ask to speak to the manager, who is at lunch, I leave my name and phone number. I wait two hours for a call back, no one calls. I call a final time (5th call), ask for the manager who supposedly isn’t there, I ask if the manager is still at lunch, I tell Kelly, the guy from my first two calls, I had already called, but he won’t give me any information except asking for my name and phone number again. It was obvious that they were screening calls. If they can’t handle a simple refill for flea meds, what would it be like if I needed something serious? I guess the term “customer service” doesn’t mean anything to them.

My name is Victoria Montano and I brought my 13 year old Chihuahua "Cookie" in for some major procedures and the quality of service couldn't have been any better! They really looked after my girl and I can see how each staff member that is seeing Cookie that day, truly loves her! I am beyond grateful for the love and care that we've received and for the special attention given to not only Cookie but myself as well. There have been times when I've called 3 times in a row in a panic and they have gracefully returned my calls and calmed me!!! Thank you all for being there for my baby girl dog and for taking care of her so that she can live so much more comfortable now...I would recommend this hospital to anyone who has a pet they adore want the best care for it.

Very rude customer service. Called there today for a couple questions and the guy on the phone just cut me off telling me no new patients because of covid. I understand there are rules & regulations put into place because of covid but I do believe people should be professional and kind when speaking to people on the phone.

I've never had any problems with this place, in fact they've been great, so when I was unable to call or access my account with them due to problems with the website and answering service, it was disappointing. I was on hold for 30 minutes only to be connected to a line with nobody on the other end. I was unable to make an appointment online because when you login it takes you back to the sign in page. This is frustrating because my dog needs to get his meds and I can't reach them due to covid-19 but I'm given no other solution but to find a new vet. A vet should have a working answering service and a email or website that allows old farts like me to contact them without too much trouble. Fix these issues and I will update my review to five stars.

Recently took my 12 year old dog to get some masses removed and they were so kind, took care of my dog so well, and I would highly recommend them for any pet visit.

So I called in to book an appointment at around 4:30 pm for the family's new member. The lady that answered the phone was courteous but her response was negative. As of 07/13/ 2020 "they are not accepting any walk ins nor any new customers" (quoted)... So I guess they don't want anybody's business. Oh well, I'll look for someone who wants to take care of my loved ones.

My family goes here all the time for their pets. I recently moved out and got a kitten so I was hoping to make an appointment here for a checkup but when I called I got “Uh we aren’t accepting new clients. Goodbye.” No information why. No other alternatives. Just that. Now after reading all the reviews I wonder if my family’s pets are even getting the proper care.

UPDATE: I just talked with Sharon and was helped like I remembered. She was helpful, kind, considerate and professional! Apparently it was the person that answered my call earlier that was rude and short but, I didn't get her name. Their attitude needs to be improved! I called them this morning and the person who answered was very rude and short. I use to take my dog there all the time in the past and they were very nice. But it looks as if the customer service has declined! Looks like I will looking for another place to take my dog!

I am disappointed to read some of these reviews, because I had nothing but a top notch experience with this facility. I do not regularly visit, however from my very first call, I was well informed and grateful they had the patience to listen to my every question. My puppy was brought to the facility because her regular vet wanted way too much money for Spay/Neuter (3x what this place charges). They were very clear on their operating hours, how much my total was (within $15 once it was time to pay), that payment was expected up front (they take cc) and how the day would go when I brought my dog in. Everything was very clear and the staff was very efficient. The best part was even after they got their money, they called to check on her and make sure I didn't have any questions and to ensure she was making good progress. Great service and friendly staff - but every owner should do their best to research any type of care for their pet. If I am ever in the same situation, I will choose this facility again!

I honestly don't know what some of these people are complaining about. This place is great, everyone I've ever spoken to is kind and they are so good with my dog. I literally just got off the phone with them concerned about an email I received and the woman on the phone was so patient and kind to me during the 4-5 questions I had. So on a happier note, I am a satisfied customer, they take good care of my doggy and I'm grateful for the affordable prices. 5 stars :)

Would not provide valid prescription to Heartland pharmacy. Required a check up, ok, never sat our puppy down in waiting room, only place in the exam room she touched was the scale and the exam table, the vet tech took her out of the room for a few minutes and unknown exposure. Came home and she has a bad cough, our 16 year old cat who shares a water bowl caught it also, She Did Not Recover. Had to call 3 times to finally get them to send the prescription for Flea Meds and eye drops. The doctor's selling technique is shaming, and rude actions, Our Dog has a bad eye, to remove it at inhumane was quoted at $1500 (I do have the printed quote) The disgust when we faltered at the quote, we are having it done at the Vet who treated the cough and counseled us on the loss we suffered. $300, 80% less. Surgery done at another vet.
