Awesome work is done by Saskia and her team for our furry little friends. Her YouTube channel is very educational for new as well as experienced owners. Consider a donation to them or visit their online store for Piggie essentials and gift items!

Got our 2 female guinea pigs here over a year ago. The first pair didn't get along, and it was our first time with guinea pigs, so we didn't think we could do a good job taking care of the wilder of the 2. (Our bad, we should have just taken the rescue's recommendation of calm guinea pigs as first-timers.) But they let us come back in less than a week and found us a much better pairing for our calmer girl. I trust their health checks way more than check-ups at 99% of vets, even most exotic vets. They're guinea pig experts. Even the exotic vets are stretched too thin to learn much about guinea pig health and care. If its just a couple days, we have a local petsitter look after them, but we drive like 2 hours to board them at LAGPR if we're out of town for more than a few days, because I wouldn't trust many petsitters to catch any problems. But I'm confident LAGPR would notice and take care of them in an emergency. Plus we get them bathed and their nails clipped, so the pigs don't stay mad at us for a week like they would if we did it. Pretty much all their products and services seem barely more than at-cost. Extremely affordable, quality supplies in bulk (especially their hay and pellets). And you know you're paying to help save other pigs. Please don't buy from pet stores! LAGPR has so many perfect guinea pigs of all breeds who need homes, who are usually much healthier than petstore pigs anyway, and there are so many more out there who need rescuing.

This place is the only place you should adopt piggies from. Their pigs are happy and healthy and they will do health checks for you for free. I have boarded a pig here and I'm going to again. The cost is very reasonable and my pig was has happy going in as she was coming out.

The piggies received baths. The vet informed us of a small issue and demonstrated how to take care of it and provided medicine at a low cost. She also was very reassuring about how to take care of our potentially pregnant piggie. I love finding out that the rescue sells organic foods and even has some vitamins to help the pregnant piggie. Our piggies returned clean and with nicely clipped nails.

Love the work they do in caring for the neglected cavies. Even educating the public on how to care for them.

I’m so happy I adopted 2 Abyssinian guinea pigs(originally named Stella and Helena) from here. The volunteers let us interact with the guinea pigs for 1 hour before we made a final decision. I’m glad there’s an outgoing health check because the vet caught beginning stages of fungal feet in my guinea pigs. We treated the fungal feet by following the treatment information that she gave us. Also, there are so much guinea pig supplies available like pellets, hideys, treats, and hay right in front of the health checkup area. I’ll definitely be back for more supplies and free health checkups.

Absolutely great. They truly care about animals and their well being I love that. Super friendly. Make sure to look up everything if you are adopting. You need enough room for 2 guinea pigs and proper cage. They won't let you adopt if you are not prepared. They do offer the supplies you need as well as the cage. The prices are extremely food too. They are not there to over sell. Another plus.

Life saving and life re-newing. These people settled doubts in my heart about whether others cared about the cutest, sweetest, gentlest creatures ever as much as I Do.

We came from Vegas so our guinea pig could find a mate. They did a health check on our guinea pig. Got use 3 other pigs to play with and eat. The lady working there was very knowledgeable. She recognized that 2 of the 3 pigs wouldn't work. We picked the one that was left. She's 6 weeks old and gets along great with my pig. They jump and twirl around. Very greatful they are there to help.

2 hr drive and well worth it. They checked Buddy's teeth, our concern, cut his nails and did a boar clean. Trust this team more than the Vet.

Had a great experience the first time here, friendly and helpful staff. Informative and helped us match our guinea with a friend and playmate. Adopt a guinea! Came back two years later to buy some hay for my guinea pig. One of the staff members was quite rude. If you really wanted to have guinea pigs adopted you wouldn't make it so difficult. Going to Bunny Bunch instead! Get off your high horse lady and do it for the guinea pigs! If you don't like what you do then do something else just my opinion. I would've adopted one more today but couldn't because you need a formal application? I drove an hour here...sad you make it difficult to manage.

Saskia truly cares for her rescued animals and has a loving heart. I've had guinea pigs off and on over the years and my knowledge has increased with the LAGPR channel and Saskia's "show and tell" per se. Thank you Saskia and all your helpers. Scotty too. Keep wheeling on ????.
