Great place for training and lessons, of all ages! Emily is a super talented hunter jumper instructor and works with OTTB’s and all breeds. The support and comradeship among boarders and at horse shows is fantastic. I highly recommend MMEC. Especially for kids!

I live in the community and are beyond happy to have Emily and her facility located across my property. We are the luckiest neighbors... My 10 year old daughters loves attending camp every year and the staff is wonderful, they make her feel like family! Thank you so much for the long lasting memories your staff and facility gives my daughter!

Such a wonderful friendly horse barn. Lots of excited kids who love their ponies. The grounds are beautiful the Arenas are gorgeous and well-kept. And the owner Emily was very kind and helpful. Perfect place for your barn???? family. Also the views are amazing to ride in such peace and serenity.

Nice place to take equestrian lessons. You sit on bench or chair that overlooks the area where lessons are conducted. Limited shade area so take a hat.

I have had the pleasure to not only board my horse at this facility, but also receive lessons from its new owner and head trainer, Emily Ruocco. Her background in the horse world is extensive, and she even helped me achieve my goals in competing in the Greater San Diego Circuit. Plus, she taught me how to truly train a horse; I have never heard such accurate insight about the horses' mind until I met her. Her lessons can be exciting and challenging, but the barn still has a laid back and family-like attitude. Every day I see the ranch hands focusing on a new project to update the facility, and if it rains, they are working hard to drain the arenas. More than once the team has been attentive when it came to my horses health. If they aren't the ones to call me when something is wrong with my horse, another boarder will; 24/7 care and safety. Great place to take lessons for beginners, great place to take lessons if you're competitive. Love this facility.

well the horses are very well taken care of and it seems this ranch teaches very well the girls all the manuals and labor of a horse along with riding. its just that the 'arena' isnt that big :/ no problem with the arena itself its just that they put so many girls in the small arena packed at once! you easily daily bud butts or faces with the other horses while your riding. they 'lesson' really is just an opportunity to ride a horse and very minimally get advice. stuff that would normally be good for you to learn in a lesson you dont get to opportunity to do much other than trot or walk bc they say cantering is too dangerous with so many girls even they admit it. i hope the owner sees this because it really is a problem its either this or just spread the girls out

Over the last two decades I have observed the attention that Judy and Tony Tieber, owner-managers, have shown to ever horse on the ranch. Their nightly inspections and over the top care of every single horse has so impressed me. From on site veterinary care, farriers and a friendly on site ranch manager - every horse seems healthy, happy and content. The personal attention that Judy gives to the horse owners is so impressive. She involves everyone in the Sunny Side Saddle Club and always has a friendly smile and kind words of encouragement. Judy's 50 years of "horse woman" experience has been observed by me as she helps boarders make decisions and gives advice (upon request.) A great place for horses and their owners to enjoy their sport in a safe, clean and well cared for facility.

I ride everyday and my coach is amazing she always watches me and maybe about 10 other girls but still corrects me about holding reins and putting my feet down. I recommend you cooking here it's only $25 for 1 lesson for an hour it is totally worth it. I have been here for 2 months and know how to trot

My daughter use to take lessons there. I was uncomfortable with her trainer always encouraging me to leave her and go, and with how many riders I saw in the arena taking lessons at once, but I did set her up at a time when only one other girl was there because it was a normal school hour. My daughter seemed to progress very slow, but she had fun. Then there was an incident where my 12 year old was bucked off. My daughter's description and the trainers of what happen was not the same. I just kept it in mind and we kept going. Then my daughter come home one day a bit upset, She rode but felt she got no instruction because her trainer was busy training a horse at the time instead of instructing her. She was hoping to finally jump that day but again it did not happen. When I talked to the trainer about it we were also talking about safety issues and I caught her in a major lie. The trainer told me she had never had a serious injury in any of her lessons, what she did not know is I had just met a teenager at another ranch who had recently been in the hospital, FOR A COLLISION WITH THAT TRAINER IN A LESSON. I stopped bringing my daughter at that point. A few weeks later the other girl my daughter rode with came to school with a cast on. Guess why, yep in her lesson another rider and her collided. Since then I have seen the owner in dishonest dealings and bullying other small businesses in the equestrian community there. The stalls look pretty clean, with alot of maintenance people around, It might be an ok place to board your horse ,but I would never recommend getting your child involved in lessons. Its just not a safe or positive environment.

This equestrian center is amazing! I ride weekly here and it is the best. The trainers work with you. If you are not ready to do something they will wait. Riding here is so much fun. You can also bring carrots and feed virtually any horse on the ranch. The ranch is currently helping the humane society to nurse six abused horses back to health. The horses are getting used to people and are beautiful!
