This was a fantastic experience from the very first phone call! Brenda answered the phone and her genuine kindness and caring immediately put me at ease. We got got right in and my Baby (my heart) was handled with love and care. I was so amazed at how each person that we had contact with and their role was handled so professionally and so kind. I felt assurred and confident that my Baby was in good hands. The facility was very welcoming, clean, and organized. My dog had a csection and 2 beautiful puppies. It was a success and am so thankful for each and every person involved. They all went above and beyond! Dr. Willis who performed the surgery,, excellent job! Benda, Ashley, Ryan, Jenna and Tatiana, you all made this scary experience turn into a happy ending! 5hank you all so much!

Made me wait 45 minutes with no explanation and told me waiting wouldn't kill me. Then said I spit at them and cussed them out when nothing like that happened. They lied to save their hides and make it look like I was In the wrong.

I only gave 1 star because 0 wasn't an option. My dog is having to have weekly lab draws because of an autoimmune issue she is having right now and my primary vet is closed until Jan 4,2022. Prior to my vet closing for the holiday his office made arrangements with San Joaquin vet to do my dogs lab draws (I was present for the phone call). The following week when I called to set up time to have the labs drawn I was told that the vet (Thomas Willis) was refusing to do them, that he was too busy to take on new patients. I told the girl that these were prior arrangements made, she acknowledged that she remembered the call from my vet but that Dr Willis was still refusing. This vet (Dr Thomas Willis) left my sick dog in a very bad situation with having no where to go to have her labs drawn. My vet made the arrangements and sent over her paperwork as they requested because he knew that there would be no where to randomly walk in and get labs drawn. Dr Willis didn't need to take my dog on as a new patient, she only needed labs drawn. He didn't need to even interpret them, they were send out labs and results were to be sent to the specialist down south. Ten minutes of his offices time was all that was needed, not even his time. Wasn't asking for them to be drawn for free, I knew I had to pay. He's a vet to help animals but yet failed miserably at helping my dog and Honoring an arrangement that his office made. How do you trust a person with your pet if the person doesn't honor their own word?

I wish I could give this place a lower rating. DO NOT take your animal here!! My kitten wasn't feeling well so I brought her into San Joaquin Vet. That was the biggest mistake EVER! They took blood work and when I called to get the results (I had to call, they didn't call me and they didn't have the results for several days) they told me that my kitten had FIP and that she would die because there's no treatment. I immediately started looking into FIP specialist and found one in San Diego. My kitten and I drove down to San Diego to see the specialist at The Village Veterinary Hospital and after a series of blood test the The Village Veterinary Hospital assured me (the same day) that my kitten did not have FIP. She had a mild infection which they gave her an antibiotic shot and immediately she got better. My kitten is now healthy and strong, no thanks to San Joaquin Vet who gave her a death sentence. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE!

we have been taking our dogs there for about 20 years now. they have always been friendly and professional and a few times i had emergencies, during regular business hours, they say to come right in and they will squeeze me in which they always did! after hours you have to take your pet to the emergency hospital but i've always been happy with the treatment for my dogs at SJVH. i've never had a rude Vet, vet tech or front office person, always treated with respect and obvious care for my pets.

I went here for years for my dog for routine type things vaccines etc... I got a new dog who is a goldendoodle, and I took her here to get fixed because my other vet that I would take my dogs to for surgery weren't doing it because of covid. Just several hours after I brought my pup home She started leaking blood out of her incision We took her to the emergency vet and found out that she was internally bleeding more than one place. My opinion is that this happened purely Because the vet did an inadequate job of fixing her. Every precaution was taken after she returned home and we still ended up at the emergency vet having to spend $3,000 to save our dogs life. She had 18 staples in her poor stomach and was miserable for 2 weeks because of the incompetence of this veterinarian. I would never bring any animal here. I informed the vet about the situation and they didn't really seem to care. I was supposed to get a call back from the veterinary that performed the surgery, but he was too busy on vacation and didn't have the courtesy to call me back and discuss what could have gone wrong or why my dog ended up in this situation. They have no compassion for the animals or their clients. If you need a surgery please don't go here there's a vet just down the road that are much more competent.

This vet is horrible, he neglected my poor khloe. She was only 7 months he was going to perform surgery to amputate her foot and didn’t not even look at it prior to saying she needed a leg amputatio. He knew khloe had swallowed something and said it is nothing to worry about. He did surgery on her called me a few hours later and said khloe passed. My experience with this vet was horrible. I would NEVER go here nor will I EVER recommend anyone to go here.

They don't "pad" the bill with unnecessary treatments or guilt pressure you. They give you all options for treatments & costs.

We recently brought our dog in for a dental cleaning and mouth problem because it seemed like she had a tooth issue and it maybe needed a removal judging by her behavior. We aren't foreign to this due to the fact that she has had several teeth pulled in the past (she just has bad teeth, we've tried everything to combat the issue) and we are very familiar with the signs. However, the vet seemed to think it was an intestinal issue and claimed that he saw nothing wrong, he barely examinedher mouth in front of us, he was so sure of himself that he didn't listen to us, the owners. So we were skeptical when we left, and had near insisted that it was her teeth and we felt they should have xrayed her mouth but they did not. After a week of antibiotics, nothing changed so we called and complained and they "squeezed us in" an additional week later, it should have been sooner and they should have made more of an effort to do so when I complained that the vet had overlooked the issue. When we brought her back they realize the issue and at that point it had advanced horribly. There is no way that in one week her tooth and the gums around it would become so bad (they called it necrotic.) They had failed to listen to us when we insisted that it was a tooth problem (seeing as we had past experiences with the issue.) Our poor dog had to suffer an extra two weeks due to them! She was REALLY bad and we couldn't afford to take her to the E.R. having just paid for her previous appointment and the body (excluding the head) xrays and medication they gave her. They put us in a terrible position as dog owners, it was gut wrenching and it could have been avoided had they done their job correctly. When we brought her back and had the tooth extracted they charged us as if nothing had happened, I was assuming that they would reduce the cost or even ACKNOWLEDGE that they had done wrong. Instead, when I picked her up that day, the tech had the nerve to point out how bad it was in front of a full lobby of people as if WE had done wrong. I did not berate her in front of the other customers, though I absolutely had the right to complain. We are long time customers, but we are disgusted and dismayed by our experience and their lack of professionalism. We are now shopping for a new vet. We shall not be returning.

Masks during Covid were not mandated. If you have a vet and staff who ignore science for human health, do they ignore science for pet health too? Furthermore, the vet was way too eager to end the appointment and not interested in answering any of my pet care questions. Not impressed.
