A first-rate, professional, clean and friendly environment. All of the employees - from the lowest scullery maid to the highest-ranking rattle-shaking pet witch-doctor - act non- judgmental when you bring in an unusual pet (like a vampire bat) for a little fashion advice (wear black, they said). They lose a point because they’re horrendously expensive and the time my old cat was misdiagnosed with a tumor when she was having some kind of drainage issue with a poorly-functioning kidney, causing us a night of tears and despair. The next day Mr.Movember himself, Dr. Reed, saved the day by properly diagnosing kitty and even putting a simple procedure in place to correct the issue. The missing star is also justified by the staff’s inability to carry out the procedure without a lot of running around and refusing to take responsibility for the procedural outcome.

We usually see the vet here. This morning my cat got seizure and needs medicine immediately. They don't care and ask us to wait for a month.

????PSA????: If you’re goal is assure your fur baby lives a long health my life, DO NOT go here! Today, a Vet turned my pup away in lieu of a cough that developed from this facility. Instead of treating or the Leaser examining her amid the discovered sickness, in person they turned her away and said: “schedule an appointment.” My 10-month old pup was perfectly healthy until she began being treated for her vaccines here. She’s been coughing and has been chronically vomiting for a month now. I’m heart broken over seeing my family member in this pain to be further neglected at the same hospital she’s suppose to be treated. Now I’m scrambling around to find a hospital to help her. Do not allow these people to place you in a helpless position like they’ve done to me or make your pup sick. This is the scariest feeling a dog owner wants to experience

Edit 2: Back to 2 star. My cat got feline corona virus here (not covid-19). Edit: Change from 1 to 2 stars because somebody called me to follow up about my concerns. I don't think anybody working here is incompetent, but I do think they have too many patients and are spread too thin. Taking my cats to a smaller place where they can get more attention - because they're my babies and that's what they deserve. Original: In less than a span of one year, one of my cats was injected with a dirty needle for a fluid injection and developed an infection and my other cat had bloody stool and they ran the wrong fecal test. The docs are fine, but the techs don't know what they're doing.

We have followed Dr. Schaeffer to 3 different clinics because we love her and the care she provides for our cats. And our interactions with the rest of this clinic's staff has been wonderful. They are kind, sociable, and clearly love working with animals. The building is also very quaint. The only complaint I have is the very limited parking, but that's hardly the fault of the clinic, rather just a reality of existing in a city.

First time I went for an appointment they were having electric problems and there was no power. Second time I went they forgot to give my dog the shots that he came for also between that time they said that I needed to wait 2 weeks between shots and vaccinations that was the first person the second person was trying to schedule it for the same day the third person checked with that and they said that 5 days was fine. Also the x-ray machine was down and shooting random pictures all over different directions when I was there I know this because they were speaking to a lady in the lobby then yesterday after they forgot the shots they called me and wanted me to come in on the same day as the neutering to get them done or me to take a nut another time out of my schedule to come back and do what they were supposed to do the first time then they said they'd call me back this morning and no one's called back. I wish I wasn't committed to their Wellness Plan for one year I would never go here again

I'm not usually one to leave reviews, BUT I just had a rather strange experience here. The vet kissed our dog, a lot. I don't know about you, but I think that's pretty off-putting and inappropriate for a stranger to do. I mean, I don't know you, man, and you're kissing my dog... The dog that I kiss... Now I'm washing my dog's head because I'm not trying to kiss some random dude...

Been going here with my pets for years. While the original Vet staff have moved on, they seem to have passed on the same caring attitude, and attention, that I've come to expect.

Pleasant vets, small parking lot, they actually do a full exam and take the time to explain and answer all questions. A bit on the expensive side.

I brought my two dogs for their first check up with me. I adopted them together and both have anxiety. The place was great for them. The doctor was a natural moving through with her treats. Neither dog hovered in a corner and willingly submitted to the exams. We enjoyed our first visit. I don't know that I will be able to afford all services there, but we will be returning for regular exams and needed advice.

Building is very cute, separate entrances for dogs and cats but you can see through the other side from reception. Parking lot as a breeze as theres street parking all down the blocks. The ladies working at the desk were super helpful and very sweet. Waiting rooms have large benches so my shepherd loved that he could lay up there with me. The doors to the waiting rooms are those doors that can open half way so pup loved seeing everyone walk by. I think it made him more comfortable seeing instead of just hearing. The vet we saw, I forgot his name but he was very nice. Understanding about my pups preexisting conditions and even gave us a sample for flea meds so we could get back in order! We will keep going to this vet even though were from Rodeo, the place is worth the drive.

This place is a RIP OFF all they care about is getting money. They don't seem to care about my cat at all. I'm on the wellness plan and I have paid for most of it in office visits alone. They would not see my cat until my was bill was paid, why all the time my cat was in pain they had the majority of their money and they still would not see my cat so after paying the $100 I owe them I went to see them told him the problem that my cat was having and they turned around and wanted to charge me another $222 for their services now this is not the Wellness Plan that I'm paying $79 for every month I do not recommend this place for anyone reviews are great please read your reviews before you go anywhere or definitely to VCA Albany

I love it here. I haven't found a veterinarian that works here I don't like. They don't push unnecessary meds or expensive procedures they offer a free first exam, and cats an dogs have their own entrances to ease some of the stress animals go through by the whole vet experience as it is. Awesome. The front desk staff has left me with mixed impressions, I've been taking my pets here for the last 4 years or so and they seem to have noticeably changed front staff several times. My first visit was absolutely stunning customer service and outstanding job performance, the sweet older woman who checked me in brought me coffee while I was waiting, the whole waiting area looked spotless and sterilized and I only had to wait maybe 10 minutes, I barely managed to finish filling out the new patient info form. However the next couple of times I had to bring my dog in a little over a year later that woman was gone and I was checked in by a very young man who unfortunately seemed very overwhelmed and unsure of himself. And the whole front desk looked a little chaotic. They seem to have gotten things back in order though since the last couple of times I've gone in they were not perhaps above and beyond as the first woman I encountered but I have no complaints they were professional and orderly and knowledgeable the waiting area could've used a quick swipe down with a sanitary wipe just to keep the hair and Lord knows whatever else the other pets that'd visited that day might've had but ultimately this place is a gem.
