I just want to start by saying that the After Hour Animal Hospital on Smokey Lane in North Little Rock, AR is all the stars in the Universe! They really helped my new baby Carly yesterday. The staff is fabulous! Very caring. Dr. Gordon is …

Amazing professionalism from every staff member I interacted with. The Veterinarian and their staff were great at explaining what was going on and how they were going to help. They are still curbside and the staff did an amazing job calling …

I can't express my gratitude for Dr. Gordon and his staff. My yorkie was acutely ill. I have no doubt that she wouldn't have survived without Dr. Gordon's quick assessment and treatment plan. They kept me up-to-date on her care the 2 days she was with them. Covid sucks and I hate that I couldn't speak with them while they were assessing her but they communicated over the phone with patience and compassion. Other reviews have mentioned cost....yes it cost more than a regular vet visit but that is to be expected from an after-hours clinic and the tests/procedures necessary to diagnosis and treat an acutely ill animal are costly to begin with---even at a regular vet. We had previously taken 2 of our fur-babies there when when knew it was time to let them cross the Rainbow bridge. And again, received compassionate care and service. Thank you for all you do when families are in the worst situations of their life. I know the job can't be easy. Bless you all!!

On Christmas night, our much loved cat suddenly began acting crazy and having seizures. We scooped him up and drove to After Hour Animal Hospital on Smokey Lane. There were at least 10 cars in the lot so we could tell they were crazy busy. Because Snowball was critical they took him quickly, treated his life threatening symptoms and began toxicology tests. Unfortunately, the tests showed he had gotten into antifreeze or something with ethylene glycol and he didn’t make it. Dr. Ray Did everything she could but he was far too gone. The staff, especially Sahvanna (correct spelling) and Dr. Ray, were unbelievably helpful and kind. Sahvvanna offered to make us a paw and nose print from Snowball. We couldn’t have been given a more endearing remembrance of him. Thank you to the team, on Christmas night, for making a horrible moment tolerable.

Can’t express how much I hate this vet. Charged me $1500+ To tend to my badly wounded dog just for my dog to die Two days later bc they didn’t put a drain in his wounds… They themselves told me it wasn’t necessary and then told me it was necessary right before putting my dog down.

Edit: Yes, it was the holidays and my review was my attempt of being gracious. I believe you missed the part where I called ahead of time, spoke to someone, went to your establishment, and then sat in the parking lot for over 40min with NO ONE coming, calling and trying to wave down your office staff that was coming in to work through the back/side door...all of which was ignored. How two different people can literally look at someone saying "excuse me," and then turn their back and keep walking. ????????‍♀️ So yes, I am truly glad I do not have to rely on this place of business for emergency care. Yes, I have used emergency care for our dog. Sat in their parking lot for over 5hrs in the middle of the night with them calling/texting/walking outside to give constant updates. I will say, I am very impressed by how quickly someone got on this review to write a reply, less than 2 hrs. Original: Found a dog, wanted to see if it was chipped. Called and asked if they had a reader. We are not from here, out of state visiting family. Waited on hold, had to call back-to-back to get a person. They never came. Not an emergency, I understand that, but was told 3 times they were coming with the reader. So glad that I don't live here and have to rely on these people for actual emergency care for my animal.

Cannot say enough great things about our service here. From top to bottom, the staff was wonderful to our dog and to us. They (even the doctors) called regularly to update us, and then for updates after he was home. It is expensive. You will not find an after-hours emergency vet that isn't. I would not hesitate to take my pet here again. My family and I are extremely grateful for this place and its people.

The staff was absolutely amazing and very caring. Dr. Gordon answered all of my questions and called to give me a thorough update about our cat. I would recommend this clinic over the LR emergency vet hands down!

We had an amazing visit here. Our dog needed emergency care after a negligent vet experience treating a broken leg. The staff was friendly, open about the level of care needed, calming, communicative and took amazing care of our puppy. They sent pictures, kept us updated and even called the next day to check on our puppy’s progress. After getting a new regular vet and having our puppy checked up, the new vet was impressed with the care she received and agreed with the recommendations made by the emergency vet. Thanks to these wonderful people our dog is well on her way to recovery, when she could have easily lost her leg. So thankful for these loving, compassionate people and their service. I hope we never need their services again, but if we do, we know exactly where to go. Would recommend them to any and all.

As you can imagine, no one wants to have to take their fur baby into the Animal ER at 11:45PM, but the After Hours Animal Hospital took my sweet baby Frenchie, and had her diagnosed within 15 minutes. They informed me she would need surgery, but gave me the option to give her pain killers for the night if I preferred to have a second opinion from my vet in the morning. After assuring me they would take great care of her and have her back home in 2 hours, I opted for them to perform the surgery she needed on her. They called me before, during and after the surgery to keep me updated and let me know she was doing great. Before even calling my vet to make her check up appointment, they had already sent all of my pups information to my vet clinic and they were aware of exactly what surgery was performed and what medications they had given to her. My vet said they did a fantastic job on the surgery and she wouldn’t have done anything different. I can not speak more highly of the After Hours Animal Hospital. I’m very thankful for their fantastic service and the quality of care they provided to my fur baby. Sweet puppy photos attached ❤️

The staff and Vet were very courteous and professional. However I spent over $600 and it turned out to be the wrong diagnosis and treatment so I had to spend another $400 at my regular Vet to get the correct treatment. Also, no one from the After Hours Animal Hospital called to follow up with me to find out whether their treatment was effective. They did send me this survey request via text at 3:40 a.m. waking me up. Seriously, 3:40 a.m.??

Had a very sick cat that hadn't eaten or drank anything in days. We called and they got us in immediately. It was curbside drop-off at 10pm, which was great. And Taylor was unbelievably nice, helpful and informative. She and the doctor took good care of my cat and he is finally eating again and playful as ever.

My tiny old poodle fell down the stairs and I was petrified, the staff treated me like she was their only patient, kept me informed throughout the examination process. And correctly diagnosed and treated her injuries!!! She’s back to her sweet self❤️ I’m so grateful!!!!

I would give this place a ZERO if it would let me. They turned us away because we did not have $900 to pay upfront. We drove 2 hours to get there. Our granddaughters' puppies were having seizures and vomiting in their parking lot, and they offered no help. That is cold-hearted and to me does not show any compassion or love for animals. I would call that money before life.

Dr Ray is amazing! We took our boy there after eating things he shouldn't have. Everyone at this office was kind to us and my baby. Our boy didn't make it but because of her everything that could have been done to save him was done. I highly recommend Dr Ray, she has so much heart for the animals, she made things so much easier for us, we are forever grateful!

My sister in law brought her cat here and the lady that answered the phone was very rude. The lady had suggested giving her fur baby up for adoption because she couldn't afford the treatment that was over a thousand dollars. Then proceeded to ask her how much money she had and if she wanted to start a go fund me. There was no time for a go fund me as the cat was so sick he needed immediate attention.

Tough experience at this facility. Called ahead and gave a heads up on what happened to our dog. Was met with locked door and a sign to call a payment in before they would open the door (this was not told to me on the phone or I would have done this in advance). As we waited for a 900 dollar payment to process in the cold temperature, I held my dog as she was struggling to breath. They finally after what seemed like forever walked out casually to get our dog. We returned to the car (as no one is allowed inside), to get a call within 10 minutes that our dog had passed away. The vet I spoke to on the phone was very knowledgeable and helpful, we asked her if we could say goodbye she said sure. In about ten minutes we were directed around the side of the building where we saw our dog on a metal table (outside freezing temperature), which is where we said goodbye. We haven't even pulled out of the parking lot when they called to tell us they were charging another 300 dollars, followed by me saying thats fine. As I got off the phone the lady said "have a nice night". My problem is the bedside manner of this facility, I had our 11 year old daughter and myself that just lost our family dog. They showed no compassion, rush, or detailed of the charges. Again the vet was very kind and knowledgeable........her staff needs classes or even basic compassion classes.

Love using this clinic! Open when we needed them and they are upfront and open about the pricing. Sure, it’s expensive, but it’s an after hour animal ER, so I expected the price tag that would come along with that. They walked me through every step and gave me options on what was needed. I’ve met a couple of the doctors (I’ve been up here several times) and all of the ones I have interacted with have been great! They each explain things and break it down for you to understand. Thank you to the staff for working through the night to keep my furrbaby safe!!

These people saved my dog's life. She was attacked by a much larger dog and had life-threatening injuries. The staff was kind and communicated Hot Pie's status and treatment at every step of the way. They always ask you before administering treatment to allow you to know the financial implications before making your decision. The vet and staff members both called a few days after we went home to check on my dog. They were so kind and genuinely invested in her recovery. Hopefully you do not need emergency vet services, but if that day comes, this location is top notch.

Taylor and Dr.Ray are wonderful people! Our fur babies greatly appreciate them! We work night shift so when they have any issues they are the first people we call! Thank you guys so much!

Communication was great. The staff was very caring and professional! They explained every treatment and medicine to me, and everything they had to do or didn’t have to do. The only negative was having to wait in my car for my dog due too construction and COVID.

The doctor and staff took such good care of my boxer. It’s obvious they cared about my girl. Thank you!

Don’t not bring your pets here. All they care about is money. They lie to you as well and try to make you empty your pockets. THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO CARE ABOUT THE ANIMALS! AND ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY! Not even 10mins in and they’re charging you. also I’m pretty sure they abused my dog.

My tiny, 13 year old miniature schnauzer got attacked by our neighbors viscous dog who jumped the fence into OUR back yard. My son saved him (and got bit in the process) and the After Hour Animal Hospital put him back together. ❤️ My fur baby required surgery to suture the lacerations and puncture wounds. His heart rate dropped and he stopped breathing because his jugular vein was punctured. Dr. Gordon and Taeler did a fantastic job working on Charlie and he is on the mend. So very thankful that. Medical care is 5 out of 5 stars. The ONLY reason for the 4 star rating is the lobby of the Animal Hospital was closed. We were 100 miles from home and had to go to a gas station to use the restroom. We “slept” (not really) in our car in the Animal Hospital parking lot in 32 degree weather because there was no other option. I know we’re still experiencing the covid pandemic, but I would have donned a hazmat suit just to be able to use the restroom and sit on a chair in the lobby, out of the cold. We paid $1600+ for 6 hours of emergency medical pet care, it would have been nice if the lobby were opened for patients living out of town.

I’ve used this hospital several times. Dr Ray and her staff have always treated our dogs as if they were their own. Hopefully you won’t need emergency care but I would highly recommend After Hour Animal Hospital if you do.

We utilized this clinic for weekend euthenasia service. We were impressed with Dr Ray and her staff. Prices were reasonable. I recommend.

My family was very concerned about our dog not eating and throwing up. We could tell it was something serious by the way he was acting. It was early Saturday morning so we took him to this clinic and learned emergency surgery was necessary due to blockage in his intestines. After a very expensive surgery, we were given the round Nerf Bullet our dog swallowed and doubled in size in his intestines that they removed. We got our dog back Sunday evening and within just a few days he was almost completely back to normal. I feel that if we had not taken him, he may not be with us today. It was pricy but any surgery is. I was very pleased with the outcome of taking him to this place.
