Dr. Sammons and Dr. Lloyd are the best! Dr. Sammons will greet you and open the floor to any questions you have and even ask you questions! You can tell he truly cares about his patients and his work. Dr. Lloyd is a gem! She is a great doctor to my puppy and yet another doctor you can tell cares about her patients and her work. My Luca is so blessed! Emma is a wonderful young lady! She remembers Luca and once told me “I hope I’m on shift the next time he is here” All around staff here is amazing! Luca loves everyone here and it’s very calming as a mother to know he gets the best of the best care! We will be coming here as long as they will have us. Thank you for all you do everyday! -Jolleane and baby Luca

Dr Lloyd is excellent. She really digs to try to get the heart of the issue, explains everything and takes her time.

Unfortunately had to wait over 4 hours fot my cat to be seen. They told me another vet would see him "in between appointments" which...just didn't happen otherwise I wouldn't have had to wait 4 hours. Won't be coming back. If the vet you scheduled your appointment with isn't there, reschedule or take your pet somewhere else. Which is what I'll be doing next time.

When traveling overseas with pet, you'll need to get a certificate of health in order to enter the country of destination. To do that, you will need to get a USDA health certificate signed by a veterinarian and the USDA. Banfield does not provide this certificate. There is an electronic system available for veterinarians to provide USDA digital signatures, but this Banfield has not set this system up. Instead of making this just to one stop shop, I was forced to travel all over a city to get a money order, send a FedEx package to Sacramento's USDA facility (I was just in Sacramento last week with the pet), and hope that we receive the certificates before we travel. You'll need the health certificate within 10 days of travel, so give yourself plenty of time to jump through hoops for the certificate from USDA. I'm very disappointed that a national chain such as Banfield doesn't make this process easier for its customers when USDA makes e-signatures possible. The veterinarian's only excuse was that it's not a simple process and that it would take longer than today to set that up. I recommended that she do that for future customers. Meanwhile I'll spend the majority of the rest of my day ensuring that I overnight a package with $38 to USDA in Sacramento, so that I can travel in four days. Update: after we failed to receive the health certificate on Saturday from USDA, we were forced to fly out without our pet, who stayed behind with family. Due to the issues involved, Banfield's Dr. Lloyd helped fit in an appointment during her busy schedule to start the process again (the health certificate would not be valid for longer than 10 days). She was a shining star in the process.

They're about the money. We used to have a plan for our puppy there 7 years ago. After her vaccines, she developed a reaction and it only got worse over a period of 3 to 4 days and she began to have seizures. The seizures became frequent. They took zero responsibility for any of it. No one had any answers to what was happening. They denied the vaccine had anything to do with it yet she was very healthy from what we all knew. Nothing was wrong with her til after that vaccination. After the seizures became more frequent (about every 30 min) We had her admitted in a hospital while out of town and eventually so bad we had to put her down on a Christmas day. Now I have a family member with a pet under a plan there and from my observation of the care they give their pet, it is all about the money. Instead if coming up with options for care, they basically say oh well, that is all we can do. So my family member took their pet elsewhere where they will get the care they need.

Our 2 dogs, Rex and Molly, have been patients at the River location for 9 years.they have always been given good care and we have never had issues. We used to seen Dr Gonzales and loved her and switched to Dr Sammons when she left and he’s been wonderful as well. BUT the front desk staff has been absolutely horrible especially the last month or so. Our dog Molly got very sick and needed to been seen ASAP. Again we are patients of 9 years. We called and begged repeatedly to get her seen and were told over and over by the front desk they don’t have appointments and to take her to the emergency vet. We asked to leave a message for the Dr and not once was a message left. She was finally seen and after 2 antibiotics she was still not better. We did take her to the emergency room where we were told to follow up with her vet ASAP. Once again we called she couldn’t breathe and was wheezing and crying in pain. We called begged for them to see her front desk was dismissive told us they don’t have room to see her and and to take her to er is she’s that sick. They gave her an antibiotic told us to just pick it up without even seeing her. She’s gotten worse and health has declined. I spoke with the front desk lead Gidget, or Bridget idk who was rude and dismissive then had the nerve to tell my mom who brought our dog “yeah I talked to your daughter she wouldn’t listen that we are busy and booked.” A little compassion goes a long way. What’s the point of having a vet when they refuse to see your pet when there is an emergency and they are actually sick and needing care. We called for 2 weeks straight trying to get her seen till she finally got so so sick she stopped eating and drinking.

It's very nice to be able to take my pets there they take good care of them I have five cats and one dog and they've taken care of all of them for years you should try them the only thing is they're moving to speedway and that really saddens me cuz I live in San Manuel that's a long drive as it is and now it's going to be even longer sad to see him go

The doctors may be knowledgeable but someone at their front desk needs better training. I was in there unmasked and treated like a leper.. Before I posted this review I did contact Banfield and was informed that the manager would contact me. That did not happen. So since the CDC just came out that masks are NOT effective I am more upset at how I was treated.

Called at 10:20 on 2/8 to see if there were drop off appointments for our dog. Was rudely cut off after saying “we were told to call you by the other Bandfield.” Did not mention our dog or even asking for an appointment. The receptionist on the phone cut us off and said I’m sorry we don’t have appointments today and hung up. The rudest experience I have ever had. Defiantly sticking with the Bandfield on Broadway.

I’ve been going to this location for both of my pups(Hannibal & Bella) for the past year. Hannibal was diagnosed with Heartworms so we’ve been in multiple times over the year. I purchased a monthly wellness plan that has saved me tons of money and I love this vet office! We see Dr. Sammons and Dr. Rios. Both are wonderful but Dr. Sammons is our favorite! He is the most kind, compassionate and caring vet we’ve ever experienced! Gidget at the front desk is amazing and always sweet and so patient. She deals with us being crazy when we are worried about our pups and always puts us at ease! We wouldn’t go anywhere else!

They rescheduled my appointment twice. Third time I was 8 min late and the Dr had left. Prior visits I waited over 20min past scheduled time(checked in early or on time) to be seen. Also service is over priced, when local vets actually respect appointments.

Got me and my senior pup in on short notice. Very nice staff and vet was able to explain options over the phone (covid) and ensure I was on the same page with everything.

I had a bad experience with a veterinarian at the speedway location (Dr. Steinke (horrible!)) , and I desperately called the other locations to see if they could get me in for a second opinion, as it was rumor related. The woman was so nice in the phone at the river location, and they got me in with Dr. Hoffman. He was AMAZING. Very well seasoned , and took the time to explain everything. Went for a second check up this week, as he was just as wonderful. Greatly appreciate this location!

Dr Natalia Mikaleva was literally the nicest veterinarian I've ever met. This location is pretty far for me but I appreciated the way she cared for my 11 year old chihuahua so much that I will make this trip to have her care for all 3 of my fur babies. The visit was quick, the vet was thorough and kind, the staff was helpful and polite 100% recommend

I'm happy with the services I get at banfield pet hospital. I try to keep my pets on plans so if anything comes up I can get them seen right away.I do feel that recently they seem to push things that are not always necessary and I do feel free to say no.

This Vet is the best! We take both of our dogs there and the staff knows both of them by name when we walk up, even without an appointment! They care and they are knowledgeable. I cannot say enough good things about the Banfield staff at the Orange Grove/River location!!
