I would absolutely recommend this clinic for your bunny friends. I have taken my 2 bunnies here several times for care and check-ups. One in particular likes to give us a run for our money. I have only found the vets, techs, and staff to be absolutely wonderful and caring. They seem to genuinely delight in the animals and want to do right by them. They take time to answer any questions you have and to get to know your pet. They always call and check up on our bunnies post appointments and are available to call or email to answer questions at anytime. I think their costs are fair and on par for Tucson. They have only been open and honest about care costs from the beginning to end of appointments. They tell you exactly how much an exam is and once they are done with the exam they bring in a cost sheet of their suggested treatments. They lay out pro's and con's as well as making sure you understand it all. Then it is your choice as to the direction you want to go. I have never felt pressured to accept anything. A couple times I have chosen to forfeit some tests and I felt absolutely no judgement in doing so. They have been wonderful for our bunnies and have kept them happy and healthy!

This was the worst place I have ever taken our animals. My daughter bunny got sick so we took her here to get help! All we got was a massive bill with unnecessary tests. So our bunny was sick and told us she had an infection so as we wanted to get her better they told us they needed to do blood test and x-ray to know more, we never got the blood test and x-ray showed her bladder was swollen, so they gave her fluids for dehydration and then told us she needed so much medication to get better. Over all we paid about $950 dollars! To come home and for her to pass away in less them 12hrs later. They basically prolong her suffering. My daughter still has nightmares as we where seen the bunny gasp for air and couldn’t breathe. One of the most traumatizing things that has ever happened to our pets. My daughter lost her best friend and savings thinking everything they did was going to help and didn’t. Now we have medicine that was used only once and the will not give us a refund for there horrible Diagnosis. Please take your pets somewhere else!!!

****DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE**** I left my appointment mid way. Honestly she was the WORST DR I HAVE EVER SEEN. I THINK JUST GOT OUT OF SCHOOL If she ever went at all. They ask lots of YOUR PERSONAL INFORMARUON and to be prepaid before you go BECAUSE I'm sure people leave without paying often. They are a stickler for rules, masks, your date of birth. Farm vet is EXPERIENCED NOT FROM A TEXT BOOK. NO EXPERIENCE, bad farming vet. I get better care at the pet store. One star is too much credit for this company. They dont care about your pet. They just want to ring up a huge vet bill when none is required. My pet sees a vet every six months but today I need all new tests... she threatened to call in the DEC and have my chicken put down today. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. DO NOT RELY on this vet. They are creative about making you test even if they threaten to call in the state and have your pet put down ( poultry) Discusting horrible incompetence. No business with farm animals. They will kill your pet if given the chance. Like I said, I left mid visit. I still paid but a farmer knows when you are incompetent. Horrible experience. Skip this vet.

Misdiagnosed. Won’t answer a phone when there’s a life/death scenario. My baby is dead at 6 months, we were in the doctors office 3 hours, my baby was wheezing when he chirped and the doctor said he might have pneumonia. Sent us off with medicine and that was it. No breathing treatment, no nebulizer, nothing. I woke up today to my little baby that had so much life ahead of him at the bottom of the cage with no air inside his little body. He looked up at me and did his little head nod saying goodbye to his bestfriend and laid his head down. Why was my baby that was having trouble breathing not given the nebulizer. Well doctor left us waiting in a room with our baby to help an emergency case, she had other priorities than our baby. He never got the chance to learn how to fly, but I know he’s soaring up there nodding his little head at us, eating all of the yummy apples. Shame on you dr Lacey brown, we might not have had the most money but we would have paid for it if it meant I’d be holding my baby on Christmas. And every Christmas Dr was shown videos of birds wheezing and she heard and stated oh wow there’s definitely a wheezing, she did tests and said there were spots on his lungs. Sends us home with no medicine for breathing nor does she put him on a nebulizer. DONT BRING YOUR BIRD HERE.

Dr. Emily Thulson was a complete Godsend. We interrupted a coyote killing one of our beloved chickens, and none of our regular vets care for chickens AND do emergencies, so after calling around I was finally directed to Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital, by which time it was after hours. Dr. Tholson got back to us almost immediately, and she was impressively understanding, tolerant, and patient with us. She agreed to get painkillers and fluids on board before even discussing options like euthanasia, and she was very quick about it. Then she talked us through all the various scenarios for I don't know how long, and when she got in there and discovered that the wound was much worse than anybody thought, she made the euthanasia process as painless for both Chunk and us as possible. She is a wonderful veterinarian and a spectacular human being. I'm unendingly thankful for Dr. Thulson and for Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital.

On 11/4/21 I experienced this hospital for the very first time. My first impression was that the hospital is beautiful and clean with a friendly staff. The two stars is because of events that transpired. As it sits- I took my tree frog in for a URI. His eyelid was up and the doctor told me that she safely wanted to look at the eye. When she returned my pets eye was significantly worse than when I brought him in. Two weeks later and I am pretty sure I will either have to euthanize or do an enucleation- eye removal. This surgery is not cheap and pretty evasive. Had Dr. Giles not poked around in his eye I wouldn't be facing these choices today. I have to bring him in for a recheck exam- more time and money- tomorrow to make this decision. The technician Brittany was very sweet- but I still haven't heard from the office manager. 11/5/21 my situation has been one of the worst experiences of my life with pets. Office manager did reach out. Told me to drop my guy off and that he would be seen immediately. When I got there receptionist told me that she did not know when he would be seen as he was a drop off (after cutting me off). It's 345pm and I am being asked to pay 1400$ to MAYBE save my frogs life for the damage inflicted by their vet. So I am having to clean up a mess they made. The office manager called me to say we can worry about finances later- like I'll blindly agree to that??? Then she told me I needed to stop out a 75% deposit down. What??? Do you hear yourself. Long story short- they injured my frogs eye and then refused to fix it. I even offered to pay the cost for anesthesia and cultures. and still no. Terrible practice. Edited 11/8- removed the photo of him healthy bc this practice decided to have it as their photo everyone can see. He is not their poster child. Still haven't heard anything. I don't even know if they euthanized him per my wishes or if someone else took him home to nurse back to health.

When I couldn’t find an avian doctor for my cockatiel this veterinarian clinic took me in right away at the last minute. The veterinarian was amazing! She was patient, kind, empathetic, and quick! The staff checked in on my pet the very next day! They also answered any questions I had. The clinic is well maintained and super clean. I would highly recommend bringing your loved one here!

I took my red eared slider turtle in to the hospital after I noticed he was acting strange and they were able to help find out what was wrong. They scraped off the infection on his shell and prescribed him antibiotics.

They saved my pet bird's life and for that I am grateful and thankful. I have a Sun Conure named Pumpkin, and he's about 23 years old (which is old for a Sun Conure). Healthcare is never inexpensive, even for our beloved pets. It cost a small fortune to have my bird treated but he was really ill. Birds will hide any signs of illness instinctively. Overall, I'm glad I took him in because it's been almost a year and he's still doing great!

Where do I even start it’s been a rough couple days. My little furry rat friend jumpy wasn’t doing so good. I didn’t have money for a emergency vet last night but today, even it being Saturday and it being busy busy they we’re able to get my little guy and I squeezed in and unfortunately the outcome was not what I had hoped but was for the best. Dr. Giles was absolutely wonderful through it all. So was all the staff. I could not be more appreciative of the help and care and compassion I saw today. Thank you all for doing what you do. If I could give 12 million stars I totally would it was all worth it.

Required a $50 deposit just to make an appointment. Saw one other client leave while I was there, I was the only one in waiting room, but from walk-in to walk-out was 2 hours, just to get tortoise's beak trimmed. Good vet care, but poor customer service.

I stress a lot and they always make sure to answer my questions even if I think of them later on they tell me to email or call them and don’t seem bothered. Everyone is super helpful and sweet.

Our first visit was great! Our little guinea had been sick since July. She almost died 3 times! We had been to our vet here in Sierra Vista every week since then but because they are a small clinic they did not have all the necessary equipment to run tests on her. So we came here to Arizona exotic animal hospital for answers. Dr. Brown and her team were amazing! They took very good care of our guinea and made us feel very comfortable with every step. From the time we walked in we were treated so well. I got to know Dr. Brown a bit and she is such a cool person. We are happy to say that our sweet little girl is doing very well! Has not had any health issues since our visit with Dr. Brown. She's her sweet and sassy little self again. A big THANK YOU to Dr. Brown, her team and everyone at Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital!! You guys have no idea how much your help meant to us! Love Astro and family! P.s. To anyone who is thinking about scheduling here.. DO IT! You won't regret it!

I took my hen in because she was not feeling well. Dr Giles told us what we had already feared. We would need to put our chicken down. She did give us some alternatives and possibilities but the outcomes would most likely not be favorable. We made the decision to put our hen down for the comfortability of the chicken. It was an easy appointment to book from the beginning. Easy online forms. The process went smoothly through the end. The facility is very nice. I would take back another hen if I needed to.

Dr. Giles and the staff at Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital are amazing! The office staff, techs and Veterinarians work together to make sure your pet is taken care of in the best way possible from scheduling your appointment to checkout; they're always professional, friendly, and helpful. Their medical knowledge and experience with exotic animals is extraordinary; it's not just dogs & cats...it's tortoises, turtles, hamsters, guinea pigs, snakes, iguanas, lizards, fish, chickens, ducks, rabbits, ferrets, rats, hedgehogs, birds, goats, pot bellied pigs...and more! Every time I go in there's a different type of animal in the waiting room. Dr. Giles is so incredibly caring, she considers every possible angle for why our desert tortoise has been sick and how best to heal her. If she doesn't know something she will research it, ask other Vets, or discuss with the experts at the Desert Museum. She takes her time, asks probing questions, answers mine, talks about what she is seeing and feeling as she performs the exam, and discusses best next steps. I know Speedy is being looked after in the best way by the best doctors. While Dr. Giles is our primary Vet, we have also seen Dr. Johnson who was very attentive and helpful as well. This staff has a true passion for exotic animals, it shows in everything they do! Thank you Dr. Giles and Arizona Exotic!

I had to take my ball python Leonardo to vet he has not been eating, took him here to Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital they were great with him and gave a clean bill of health, were still not sure why he is not eating but they were great and the employees were awesome, also gave tips and tricks to try to get him eating. I would definitely recommend them for any of your Animal needs.

Simply put, I would not go anywhere else for Vet care for my Guinea Pigs. Dr Giles and her fellow DVMs and staff are top notch. Dr Giles especially is invested in my boys and takes care of them as if they were hers. 2 of my boys are with us today only as a result of Dr Giles’ expertise, drive, determination, and love of our furbabies. I owe her more than I will ever be able to repay. Thx Doc!

I've been to many vets with my parrots over past 25 years, in multiple states. Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital is one of the best vets I've seen for exotic pets like my birds. I think my bird actually liked the staff, and she was calm and handled with care and confidence through her entire experience. Really great staff and vet. Highly recommend for parrots. If you have exotic animals, it is best to go somewhere where they see these type of animals regularly and get lots of experience with them.

Family and animals don’t come first. They put inflexible policy over treating animal and helping the families that love them. We would not be seen because we had too many people. Children who are concerned about their animal came to be a part. Children who want to be a part of their beloved family members care. Answer to them was,” Sorry it’s our policy.” Right, read,” It’s about US NOT YOU.”

I brought my snake in when he wasn't eating and acting lethargic. The receptionist was very nice and the staff took great care of him during his visit. The doctor did a thorough exam and spent an ample amount of time answering my questions. About a week after his visit, my boy started eating again and is feeling better than ever! I highly recommend this clinic for exotic pets!
