Took great care of our Doberman puppies.

In late October we scheduled to have our Doberman’s ears cropped. I would not recommend Quartz Mountain Animal Hospital for this service. When we went to pick him up we were rushed out the door and any questions asked were answered in a short fashion as if we were a bother for having them. Whoever performed his procedure must have also been rushed because the sutures and care for the wound was sub par. The follow up visits were all just the same. We were left with feelings of guilt and terror for our poor boy not knowing whether this neglect carried over to his stay with them behind closed doors. Their lack in care for our puppy ended up costing us more time and energy in the aftercare for him as well. Now that he has healed and his ears are standing it is easy to see that there was no concern for or attention to detail in the shape and size of the crop as each ear is far different from the other. This is not a cheap procedure and we are left feeling buyers remorse that we should have taken him elsewhere. It seems as though the moment they had collected their money they were no longer interested in providing customer service or care for our family. I have not made any claims or arguments with Quartz Mountain Animal Hospital as I’m sure it would be wasted energy. I felt that it was better spent sharing my experience in this review in hopes that any potential future clients may take it in to consideration before taking their business to them for this service. Truly disappointed and heartbroken for my puppy.

I would never recommend this vet for new owners. I had my second Doberman cropped here. Luckily, things have turned out well as of now but the day of my appointment, the vet who was to perform surgery on my baby threatened to cancel her time sensitive surgery over a miscommunication over the phone about which crop I had chosen. I sent in pictures of a beautiful dog that I wanted to use a reference for the ears. The vet repeatedly tried to pressure me to have the ears done thinner so they’re “easier” to deal with even after I explained, that this isn’t my first time and I will work with her ears as long as it takes — I just wanted them modeled after the dog in photo. He said “I guess I’ll do them your way but they won’t post but sure okay” even though they were literally chosen because the ears are standing perfectly on the dog. Luckily, it wasn’t my first rodeo so I stood my ground and got the crop that I wanted. I was just repeatedly told they would “never stand” despite the obvious. Happy to never return here again.

My cat was having some issues I call Quartz Animal Hospital and they were able to get me a same day appointment. Very friendly staff. Dr Pluckett was super helpful and explained in depth what might be going on. My cat needed to get on a special food and they recommended that I try it out first before over buying, just in case my cat didn't like it. I am also super thankful because my phone was not working when they were calling to let me know my cat was ready to be picked up. I called once I was off of work after the office was closed and I had to leave a message. They called me back and were able to stay and wait for me at the office. Very good experience for me here!!

Took my kitty for nail trim. Very prompt. No waiting. Great price and staff member I spoke with was so nice and complimentary. My kitty was treated like a king!

Took our Doberman in about 7 months ago to get her ears cropped. We asked for a bell shaped medium length and they look beautiful and healed well!!

We took our puppy to get her ears cropped here. We requested show crop and got short crop. We can not even post her ears and she has them swollen and when you contact them they are unresponsive. You have to constantly call to get a response. We paid for show crop also and they did short crop. Never gave us the difference back. Find a better place for ear cropping. Update on our pup her ears are still swollen and another infection and we clean them all the time our regular vet is trying to help us since quartz mountain does not respond. Even sent them a picture and nobody called back. Our bet stated how bad her ears looked. They are not interested in animals just the money it seems like.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU TAKE YOUR DOG OR PUPPY BECAUSE MINE DIED! Disappointed doesn’t even start to describe how I feel. Took my Cane Corso puppy in the have his ears clipped. Gave the vet office my number but asked them to call my wife with anything. They continually called me at work to ask questions about ear length, if we wanted to do more vaccines and each time I asked them not to call me but call my wife who was off from work and available. They again called for a 3rd time while I was at work. I ignored the call and they called back right away. I stepped of my work floor to answer the call and the vet let me know my puppy had died. Now I am out the $3500 I paid for the dog not to include my cremation expense they wanted to charge me for. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!

Got my dogs ears cropped and Renee is hands down the best tech at this facility!! Very personable and invested, you can just tell she cares and had no problem helping you out or answering any questions at all! I didn’t have the best experience with the other techs, they just didn’t seem to care and wanted to do the bare minimum, at least that’s how it came off. She definitely changed my whole opinion on the facility!

Had my dobe's ears cropped here, the cut looks fine, though definitely asymmetrical and the stitches were terribly done as confirmed by a different vet we took him to for his checkup appointment, which will prolong recovery time.

So originally I was simply going to have Quartz Mountain crop my boy’s ears. Being located in Scottsdale and me living in Midtown Phoenix, I figured there were quality Vets closer to me than a 30 minute drive. But I was hooked after the first visit! They answered all my questions and gave me deeper insight over the phone even before booking an appointment, the techs not only remember, but seem excited and happy to see my dog every single visit. The surgeon even came out (COVID curbside times) to talk and discuss with me about the style, length, overall aesthetic of his crop and gave overwhelming reassurance during the entire process. And he looks amazing. Laser technique, professional and thorough follow up care...could not be happier. I’ve found my Vet!

Do you guys do stitch removal

Left our 2 puppies with shark fin ears and then said he could "try again". Doesn't uphold the veterinarian oath of doing what's best for the animals and shows that he doesn't care for humans by making them wait in 100 degree heat sometimes for over 3 hours (every time we came down from Prescott Valley it was a half day or more ordeal). Please stay away from Quartz Mountain and Aztec and find a location that cares!

My puppy's ears were done right

Our little girl saw the Dr on Friday and got her ears cropped! She is still healing but they took great care of her and offer a phenomenal aftercare program. I would reccomend to anyone especially someone looking for a reasonable cost for ear cropping and a great staff/Dr.

The staff at Quartz Mountain Animal Hospital is great. They can always get me and my animals in right away, and when I had to put down a cat recently, they were very caring and gentle. I was blown away by how supportive they were. You'll get top-notch care here for your pets.

Dr Flores is tops, excellent with our dog and with us ...great vet!!! The staff is always up-beat and helpful!!!

Hard to find, but worth it, this vet has a big heart

We have taken my dog to Quartz Mountain since I moved here just over seven years ago. I was initially devastated to learn that our longtime vet had left. However, we were pleasantly surprised to meet their newest doc, Dr. J Richardson this fall. We had an aging pet whom she began to treat in his final months of life. She was thorough, but never outside of our comfort zone of treatment and her compassion and empathy for both the dog's and our well being were breathes of fresh air during our most troubled days. The staff is easy to access, now with text technology, making urgent and last minute communication on medications and appointments a breeze. There is nothing easy about caring for an elderly pet and dealing with end of life choices, but I certainly would trust them with my fur family again.

Good docs, nice techs. They really care about their patients!
