Dr. Rosonke has been extremely patient and loving to my Rottweiler Jackson. I greatly appreciate the love and compassionate that this clinic has showed to my boy over the past month, while he gets through a frustrating situation. The front staff is always in good spirits, and can always get me in timely. Gayle, the vet tech, who guided me through Jackson’s surgery was so sweet and helpful to put me at ease but more importantly, she was calming to my dog. I know every concern and question I have will be addressed and truly feel they care for my boy. Thank you to the staff and Dr. Rosonke for the love you give Jackson.

Had a pet related emergency and my normal vet was closed. Called Hillside Animal Hospital (Lauren) and although booked solid she spoke to Dr. Council who didn't hesitate or balk at providing medical treatment. Everyone in the office was exceptionally friendly and professional. They were doting on Gizmo (Boxer) and provided excellent medical care. As animal owners, this is the type of compassionate care we're looking for when entrusting our dogs/cats in their time of need. Thank you Lauren, Heidi and Dr. Council!

Simply THE BEST veterinarian service in the valley! Everyone is extremely compassionate and welcoming and you can tell everyone working here is very dedicated to the health and wellness of your fur babies!! My dog Bonsai LOVES coming in here and seeing Dr. Council or Dr. Rosonke. They are both extremely wonderful and helpful highly compassionate veterinarians. You simply just can’t get that kind of service and care anywhere else. I’ve been to so many different veterinarians in the valley and they are at the top of my list. Super personable and they will treat you like FAMILY!! It doesn’t get any better than that! Thank you guys so much for everything that you have done for Bonsai and I. Our chocolate lab Polly Sparkles helped raise three kids and made it to age 14 with loving and smart care but today we had to put her down. Dr. Council and staff handled this challenging event with dignity, care and technical excellence. Thank you, Doc. Sorry for the unmanly sniffles. :-)

My family and I, which over 15 years have included 9 different cats and our dog, have received consistently wonderful care from Dr. Rosonke, Dr. Council and Dr. Chicotka and ALL their magnificent staff of Veterinary Technicians (notably Heidi and Gayle). Like numerous other clients who have posted reviews, when we moved from Scottsdale, we didn't think twice about changing to another veterinary care facility: Hillside Animal Hospital is simply the best, and I never mind driving an hour each way to receive the best possible care for our pet family members. The staff from the front desk reception to schedulers on the phone are friendly, helpful, professional and welcoming in every way. I call Dr. Rosonke the "Dog Whisperer" because of the great rapport I've witnessed he has with dogs. Ours was a young stray who distrusted EVERYONE. It was remarkable to watch his instant calming effect on her during her first visit and every visit since. He has also provided for our cats a wide range of diagnoses and successful treatment, including surgeries, extending their lives while maintaining the best possible quality of life for them. Dr. Council and Dr. Chicotka have both been terrific to work with caring for our cats, from very young, sick kittens to our older, aging cats. As a veterinary practice, Hillside is a well run, cohesive, effective team. A final word on financial costs, since a few others have brought it up. When you consider all of the thorough examinations, lab testing, use of latest veterinary medical techniques and practices, medications carefully prescribed and outside consultations with other medical experts, I have NEVER found fees and charges to be unreasonable in over 15 years of experience with Hillside. We've always received exactly what we paid for: THE BEST.

Dr. Council saved my puppy with parvo and coccidia. He was a very sick boy I brought in first day of symptoms and every single staff member went above and beyond to help him. He would have not survived without them. I was uncomfortable with needles and one of the techs, Roxana, came out to my house to help with feeding and Injections. There are not words I can even express how thankful I am of the Vets and staff. My puppy would not have survived without you guys. Thank you for everything you did and do. Hillside Animal Hospital Just as in personal relationships, sometimes you have to leave a business to understand fully the positive impact it has had on your daily life. After 18 years in Fountain Hills, we relocated to Central Scottsdale and decided to move from Hillside Animal Hospital, our long-time veterinary practice. I investigated several local alternatives, researched reviews and counted on recommendations from friends. Two visits at a new practice and more than $1600 later, we knew what a mistake we had made. Veterinarians at this high-volume clinic were impatient with questions, seemed perpetually rushed, and also appeared oddly removed from the companion animals in their charge. Back we went to Hillside and hope never to leave again. This practice is not inexpensive, but it is exceptional. Dr. Nicola Council and Dr. Brad Rosonke are dedicated, highly skilled and simply wonderful with clients and pets alike. No question goes unanswered, no concern is ignored. Unlike many practices, Hillside also boasts technicians and staff who have remained with the practice for many years. And with more in-house diagnostic equipment than many small animal hospitals, answers to potential health issues are often available quickly. So, hats off to Hillside Animal Hospital. We won’t be leaving you again!

We LOVE Hillside Animal Hospital! We have been taking our dogs there for years. The vets and their staff are caring and very knowledgeable. We wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else.

Hillside is always there at any moment for my cockapoos. We have been having some tummy and back issues and when I call, they get me in immediately. They really do care for our pets as their own. Simply the best group of doctors, tech and front desk????

I love everyone who works here! I have quite a few dogs (focus on senior animals) and they are so responsive and compassionate towards my pets. From the front desk associates to the vet techs to the vets (ALL OF THEM), I know that I am getting the best value for my money. I wish I had found them sooner. This is the best Veterinarian you could ever hope to find. Our Sammy got sick this morning and they told us to bring him right in. They diagnosed his problem right away and sent him home with us with medication. Dr Council and Dr Rosanne love, him as much as we do. It is so comforting to go there. The techs are wonderful there, they are like our family. From the front desk receptionist to the Drs and all the technologist a great place to take your pet.

We feel our three pups are in the best hands whenever we (they) visit Hillside. Dr. Rosonke and Dr. Council offer a full service hospital and take care of most needs right on site. Never consider going anywhere else. They are great.

Hillside is how all vet clinics should be measured. But, they are expensive. But again, I really don't think you'll find a better staff from the receptionist to the Doctor; everyone is pro with a giant heart.

I have had many rescue dogs over 35 years and also helped run a large dog rescue. With that comes lots of experience and visits to veterinarians. There have been many good vets, but none has compared with the excellent care this veterinary hospital offers - specifically Dr. Nicola Council. My large 13 year old Wolfhound mix had a tumor that needed to be removed and there were issues because of her age and other problems she had after the surgery. I emailed Dr. Council almost everyday for two weeks, including weekends, with questions and pictures. She was there with me every step of the way - and answered all issues and several trips back to the vet at no charge. My dog Annabelle is doing fantastic now thanks to the wonderful care of Dr. Council. This is the best veterinary hospital I have ever been to - highly, highly recommend.

Dr Council and the rest of the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. This place has become family to us through the years. From being a puppy to the transition into doggie heaven they have been there every step of the way. Even though we live 45 minutes away Hillside will always be our vet of choice. Thank you.
