It's a little hectic and not organized well especially if really busy. Only a few make the care noticeable. Dr Kashman made a great first impression as was my first time there. Michael is an amazing Tech and really cares and knowledgeable .

Awful experience too many times to count. Kept going back because they had me on a monthly plan. Do not go here! Save yourself the headache and frustration. Every single time something is wrong. Please review the Yelp reviews before signing up for anything with this disaster of a place. I should have looked before I signed a contract!

Dr. Spangler is fantastic!! She makes a point to establish a relationship and rapport with the pet as well as the pet parents and is willing to be flexible to maintain that relationship while providing quality care. Super personable and knowledgeable, and it’s clear that not only is she good at what she does, but she cares!

So let me preface with the fact that this is our first vet visit since coming back to Arizona (moved back home from Washington). We have had Banfield wellness plans for both our pups since they were babies and we just recently cancelled because of the horrible service at a specific location in Washington. I'm happy to say that this was a completely different experience! The techs, doctor and everyone were very friendly and extremely communicative in going over everything in their files and how the exam was today. I hope this is indicative of other Banfield's in AZ and glad to have the doggos back on a wellness plan! ????????????

They had me bring my pet in at 7:30 am. The receptionist who checked us in said he would be one of the first surgeries. This was not the case. My poor puppy was sitting in a cage somewhere until 12:30. When Banfield called to tell us that he was about to have surgery they wanted to remove some puppy teeth for an additional $500. This company does not care about your pet. You are walking pocketbook to them. They want to bleed you dry for every penny they can get you for. They charge you $50 every time you go there, even if it’s just for a vaccine or a surgery. They said they would call as soon as my dog was out of surgery and surprise surprise they didn’t. We will never ever take our dog back there.

I Made an appointment for my last set of puppy shots. After waiting 30 minutes they gave me a entire list of added costs after bringing my pup back to the back. I requested they do just what I needed for my appointment which were shots ONLY. I was told to leave and that they would take my dog from the back and bring him back out to me to Leave if I did not like it. They had my pup back there eating cheez wizz for 15 minutes!!! Man the fire was lit. I am NEVER EVER coming back to this vet even if my dog is dying.

Worst veterinarian I have ever been to. Terrible service. They refuse to listen to what’s wrong with your pet. Technician and Receptionist were very rude. Would rather let your pet die then care about it.

Rabies shot = $23. Oh did we forget to tell you that you need to pay $45 to establish a doctor patient relationship and check up first!

Terrible! They told me it would be $40 to $60 on the phone for the flea & tick treatment then came out with $100.00 dollars and my dog still has fleas after administration of medication! Simpatica obviously the fleas are resistant to this product. They told me after complaining that I could "pick out the medication from an online store" I purchased the medication from them and it didn't work. I'll never go to a "Mall" doctor again. These doctors are attached to a pet superstore and I've always gone to a private pratice. They told me that "It's law that they examine the animal before prescribing any oral flea & tick medication" in my opinion it's a racket!

Just plain rude. Poorly trained, surly staff. As soon as we didn't agree to their overpriced menu of vaccines and treatments for our very healthy Dachshund, the fake friendly approach immediately disappeared and was replaced with a stone-cold rude face and attitude. Won't be back.

I've been going to this location for 10+ years and they are always wonderful. Through this pandemic they have had awesome safe service.

Banfield could be placing your pet in danger due to reckless care. We have been using this Banfield facility for about 8 years or so. Initially, we were satisfied with their service and they were less costly than other veterinary services in the area. But, their service has degraded over time ... from good to totally unacceptable. Our most recent experience has left our two dogs that are 12 years old in danger of their lives. As of this writing, they are deathly ill due to a severe reaction of a drug that was administered during their latest visit. We brought the dogs in for teeth cleaning on Thursday. We received a phone call advising that both dogs have receding gums and they noticed a bit of tooth movement when pressing on the lower incisors. They recommended tooth extraction. We declined. They then advised us to have the dogs vaccinated for prevention of heart worm. We said to go ahead with that. The dogs were also administered vaccine for hookworm. Two issues: 1. With dogs being 12 years old a bit of receding gums is not an alarm bell that would warrant tooth extraction. But the additional $900 for each dog to perform the tooth extractions is obviously significant income for them. But, in our opinion, unnecessary especially with older dogs. 2. We were not advised of the side effects of administering heart worm prevention vaccine. They used a common vaccine called ProHeart6. Now, five days later, both dogs are very ill with classic side effects of ProHeart6 -- especially when administered along other vaccines -- diarrhea, blood in the stools, nausea and vomiting, lethargy. According to ProHeart's own information sheet, these conditions could lead to the death. As of this writing, we are very concerned for the dogs' well being. We were never advised of the side effects of ProHeart6. We were never given the ProHeart6 client information sheet nor the potential life threatening side effects of administering this drug. It is now five days after bringing the dogs home. They still cannot eat, they both have diarrhea with blood in their stools they are extremely lethargic, and the vomit when ingesting any solid food. Three days after bringing them home, we called Banfield and the person answering the phone told us it is side effects of anesthesia. Which it is not. We asked to talk to the vet and they said the vet or the tech cannot talk to us without an appointment. We mentioned the dogs are both extremely ill and was told that we could talk to the manager. We have very little confidence that a manager is going to be much help and as of this writing, we are still waiting to talk to the vet. We have an appointment with another veterinary service to have dogs examined and, hopefully, put them on the road to recovery. Our fear is that they may not recover and slowly die. As a side note, a few months ago we brought one of our dogs in for a routine exam using Banfield's prepaid service offering. This service was to includes expressing of the anal glands. They passed the dog with a clean bill of health. They missed an abscess on the dogs anal glands. We had to bring our dog back in and point out the abscess to the staff. This is not acceptable service, but at the time we passed it off as a simple mistake. In hindsight, we believe this is a symptom of their poor service. Overall, the responsiveness of the staff is very poor. There is reluctance to allow direct communication with the vet without bringing the animal into the clinic. We now recognize that Banfield is the business of up selling their services for extra income. And, most alarming, the staff did not advise us on harmful side effects of drugs that they administer to the animals. We not only do not recommend them, but in the case of this Banfield facility, our experience has been that they can be a danger to your loved pets' well being. Steve B. in Scottsdale

I had a very bad experience with Dena at the check in counter. She was rude, incompetent and lied as well. I am NEVER going back to this place again. They can't even do the simplest of things which is take an appointment down over the phone.

The staff was extremely friendly and made my dog feel very comfortable. The assistant pet my dog the whole time and I know Reggie was loving it. I was also pleasantly surprised that the wellness plan is actually quite affordable.

Dr. Elizabeth is so friendly and understanding! She made me feel more confident with raising our 1st Puppy. There is a banfield opening up by my house but I will continue to travel to this location just because Dr. Elizabeth is there!

I take my 6 year old Terrier to Banfleld (off of Shae and loop 101.) There preventative care package sucks! It's not preventative. It's more like emergency care! My dog's teeth have been getting progressively worse over the years (e.g. yellow color; tarter) and the vet doctors fail to address his dental concerns with me and inform me what I can do to help improve his dental health. Every six months he gets a wellness check up and this year I decided to tell them that no one has been recommending that I clean my dog's teeth. They responded by stating that at his most recent wellness check up it was recommended that he get his teeth cleaned within 6 months. I made a dental appointment to meet with doctor Spangler in June 2019. During the appointment she appeared very agitated and she did not examine my dog's teeth with me as that was the purpose of the appointment. I informed them that they need to explain and address his dental health needs (e.g. progress or worsening of the teeth) as they fail to do that. I made a dental cleaning appointment yesterday and I was called by a technician to state that I had to make a FAST decision as four of my dog's lower teeth were loose and needed to be extracted. The cost was over $420 and they do not allow payments to be made in installments! Dr Spangler did not contact me to explain what the concerns were during the dental cleaning procedure. When I requested to speak to Dr Spangler she appeared agitated. My dog currently has 7 teeth missing!!! The technician stated my dog has mild to moderate Calculus and mild Gingivitis. When I asked which teeth had the gingivitis and calculus he stated that they don't know! they only give a general map and perhaps all his teeth have gingivitis and calculus!!! My dog is currently still very drowsy and sad. I am very disappointed with the service provided. It is unprofessional and unethical. I feel the doctor's should explain to you the dogs medical and dental concerns and they fail to do that during the check ups. Like I said I've been taking him every six months for the last four years. He currently has 7 teeth missing and the technician stated that four of his lower teeth were extracted and four of them were missing (either it fell out or he was born with no teeth). I don't know how that could be when his teeth were all intact prior to his first dental cleaning procedure! I am furious! I am very sad for my dog. He's still drowsy and not himself. I feel very disappointed that I chose to trust Banfield for my dog's wellness.

People are friendly and care for your dog. They have a drop off service so you can bring your pet in early, then pick up later in the day. They even ask what you feed your pet so that they will give the same food (to prevent upset tummies).
