How is this place even still in business? My dog went in with a lot of pain and left in a lot of pain AND terrified. She was shaking in fear. She didn’t begin to calm down until after we were out of sight of this place. I was told she would die and there was no chance of recovery. Only after begging repeatedly if there was any other way, I was made to feel guilty for not having 5,000 at my disposable to have the tiniest bit of hope that she would survive. I took her elsewhere and she is doing much better.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!! They left my dog in a kennel for me over 6 hours and did not take her out to use the restroom or eat. They reassured me that my pet was fine/calm but when I picked her up she was terrified. They make you believe your pet is going to die unless you pay them thousands of dollars. They wouldn’t diagnose her unless I paid $900 yet they kept saying she had an internal infection. Don’t waste your time here and do not take your pet here. Horrible business and they only care about making money.

When your pet is suffering you will do anything. I was panicked and very concerned about the health and well being of one of my dogs and I didn't know where else to go. BluePearl was professional and very helpful in explaining everything to me. They took good care of my dog Frankie during a difficult time when it was unclear as to what was wrong. The staff is kind and I know they tried to be patient with me, I am sure they are under immense stress dealing with people rushing in hysterically to save their animals. Yes, it took a while to get results back but they made sure Frankie was stable and provided updates 24/7. I felt like they did the best they could and when it became clear that I needed to move my dog to another facility for more intense care, they worked with me to find the right care that was needed at the time. I am happy to say that Frankie is doing much better now. As a recent dog owner, I am only just entering the world of exorbitantly priced pet care. I do not think it is the fault of BluePearl themselves, and they will take great care of your pets, just be prepared to pay THOUSANDS of dollars if you have to take your pet in. Seriously consider pet insurance, if your pet needs emergency attention, I recommend BluePearl, just expect a very high expense for the care provided. Now that all of my pets have a solid insurance plan, if the event ever arises again where they need emergency care, I will return to BluePearl.

I have never been to a vet that cares so little. We paid $900+ just for an IV. They prescribed our cat nothing and did nothing for him. I would highly recommend never coming here.

Please DO NOT come here ????. I brought my tremendously sick cat around 11:30am. I was told to wait and go home until they checked on her and called me. Around 5:00pm and I wasn't called. I was getting worried so I contacted them myself and they thought I was a prank call because of my stuttering. After the call ended I tried to contact them again but they wouldn't answer. After numerous calls, someone new answered and spoke rather rudely. I asked if my pet had been seen and they replied no. I asked if she would be checked soon and they said they didn't know. It was getting late and I had to go somewhere so I asked if it would be possible to pick her up sometime later (IF) she had already been checked by the time I got back, they said no and if so I would have to pay a hospital fee. When I asked how much the hospital fee was they said they didn't know. It was already terrible service so I asked if I could bring her back and they said yes. When my cat was being given to me, the lady told me I should get her checked because she was in a pretty serious condition. When I asked why she wasn't checked even in such a serious condition, she replied somewhere along the lines of, "oh, its because our only doctor was called in for several emergency surgeries". ???? If my cat was so seriously ill, and you guys couldn't take her in soon, then why keep her waiting in so much pain? Why not call me to take her somewhere else? She returned bleeding, which she was not before. Because they had her for so long and did nothing, when she got out it was late and most of the veterinary clinics were closing or were too busy to accept her. I was told to "come back tomorrow" or, "go somewhere else" by all the veterinary clinics, at least they were honest and informed me. My cat died in unbearable pain 2 hours after that. I wish pain didn't exist. R.I.P. Marinela.

I waited almost 4 hours and then left without my dog being seen. Basically was on the verge of a panic attack the entire time, waiting to get updates on my dog, all for nothing. They kept saying he had to wait because they had emergency pets come in, but 4 dogs came and went within the time I was there waiting.

Very helpful during a difficult time. We are thankful Blue Pearl was there for us in the middle of the night. Thank you, we will always appreciate you.

Not sure why this place has such a low rating. We’ve been here twice for our small dog and they’ve always taken great care of him and seen him reasonably quickly and they’ve always been extremely nice and empathetic and we were able to treat him both times successfully. Really great team here, am thankful they’re so close to us.

After a phone conversation just now with the rude receptionist, I see why this place has so many 1 star reviews. There's no reason to be so condescending in answering a simple question about the services offered.

Whatever you do, don't call and ask if they can get your pet on the books. They will get really snarky really quick. "This is an ER, we don't do appointments, if you want to wait four or five hours come on in." Jeez thanks lady, as if making the call for my terminally Ill cat isn't hard enough, make me feel dumb about it. Can tell you one thing, I won't be stopping by in an emergency.

No one wants to save anyone anymore unless they get their hands on the green paper first. I took my kitten who was 4 weeks old and 2 days here because he was breathing heavily and could not move at all. No one could tell me what he had. I thought it could have been heart failure. But in order to know what he had, they wanted to charge $850 to do the tests. Then, if I wanted to hospitalize him, it would cost an extra $1,000 to $2,000. Would he have even made it?? They told me he was at his final breaths. I didn’t want him to suffer anymore and they told me it would be best to sleep him so he won’t suffer anymore. I paid $280 for euthanization and cremation, but they also gave me the option to bury him by charging me around $270??? It doesn’t make sense for me to just take my kitty back and bury him myself and get charged for doing that. Why do I have to pay to do that myself????? Also, if you wanted to get him cremated and get his ashes it’s double ($480). I should have taken him to another hospital at Scottsdale because they were soooo much kinder, empathetic, and reasonable about pricing when I took my other cat (who is doing very well!) but it was farther and this location was near me and I heard the reviews but I thought there was hope. However, the vet was kind but I felt pressured to make a decision. Please just do anything to save my kitten. Coco (churrito) died at around 4:30 in the morning, but the vet let me hold him wrapped around a blanket in my arms. I miss you. Thanks for the empathy and for his paw print as memory. but I wish hospitals could put the lives of animals first, and then the money. This goes for human hospitals as well. Where are the heroes that save lives because their heart tells them to? Where are the heroes that don’t overprice saving an animal’s life? It’s all about the money. No one wants to save anyone anymore unless they get their hands on the green paper first.

Wish I could give this place zero stars! Absolute trash, waste of time bringing you pet here. The staff is awful and rude

This animal hospital is the best veterinarian experience I’ve ever had. They’re incredibly kind, patient, and sympathetic. They’re very reasonably priced and transparent about the cost of different procedures. They give you multiple options and are honest about what they think you should do immediately and what you could wait on. They’re very willing to work with your budget and do their very best to save your pet. Thank you all for taking such good care of my pets.

My dog was bit by a pitbull tonight. She was not seriously injured, thank god. But we were traumatized by the event. That fact was totally lost on the staff. If its not a serious injury go somewhere else where the staff is more compassionate because these people are not.

What an awful place. Don't take your pets here. Get there at 415 filled out paperwork told 1 to 2 hour wait told to wait in small room After 2 hours asked fir update told they are understaffed and no estimate on time to see vet After 44 minutes asked for updated told bet called me which they didn't. Told to call them as I did and was put on hold after several minutes someone came on and told me they examined Tippy but then asked questions on the paperwork from earlier told me Tippy was ok but we should get a tests done at our regular vet. Also prescribed pain meds and she would discharge her. After 30 minutes and no dog back asked at the front desk again told understaffed and asked to wait in small room told them no just wanted my dog so I could leave. Julie at the front desk with the personality of wet paint told me if I did go back to the room she would call security which she did. Finally got my dog and left. Not sure she even saw a vet because the bet doesn't meet people in the small rooms due to covid which was weird since everyone had mask on. I will tell everyone I know about this place and how bad they are

I happen to find a feral cat who later I believe was injured somehow. I posted on FB groups for help, nothing ... I started calling around and no one would take an injured feral. I happen to call their phone number, from a website and they did not provide the name of the place . They said they can take him in, but I need to trap it. And somehow I was able to trap the poor baby using my cats carrier and some food. And I took him there. From excitement, I forgot to call and confirm the address and went to their old address. Then I called them and confirmed. They took the kitty in. I'm praying for the best outcome for this baby. Thank you for taking him in!

Called ahead to get my cat looked at because something was wrong, which could have been critical. I get to the hospital and then the front desk clerk tells me, AFTER I get there that it will be a 4-5 hour wait just for anyone to examine my cat. The fact that a HOSPITAL doesn't have someone waiting to see if he is stable enough to wait, is absolutely ridiculous. My cat probably would have died before anyone would have just checked if he needed help. The worst "hospital" I have ever been to.

I understand being busy and understaffed. With that being said, communication needs to be at its best. Wether it’s management or the staff itself, there needs to be better organization and flow for providing care and communication to pet owners.

Terrible!!! Receptionist had ZERO empathy for my situation. What’s the point of calling an emergency vet hospital if your pet cannot be seen. Worthless company

We had a situation where our new adopted heeler, got away and although he was only gone 5-10 minutes, he came back with lacerations, likely from barbed wire. We could take care of it ourselves as far as treating the wound, but thought we would have a vet do it so they could recognize if something really bad had happened to the nerves or something. We had bandaged him up and some blood had seeped. They wanted to sedate him to remove the bandages at a price somewhere in the vicinity of $800-$1200! They said they didn't want to cause pain...it was still fresh and wouldn't have been difficult to remove if they had just soaked the bandage. We left, went home, soaked the bandage, removed it, treated the cuts and abrasians, and all we had to do was buy gauze, tape and antiseptic. He seemed in good spirits, still barking, hopping arround. We will take him to our regular vet tomorrow and see if he needs anything else. Playing on people's emotions to charge ridiculous fees for unnecessary procedures is why the rating is so low. I was concerned because of the bad reviews and now I know why. If you need emergency care, I suggest doing the research and reading the reviews first. The first place we went to wasn't taking new patients. That, and a time constraint brought us here.

They were happy to take our money to see my kitten for an exam but were not willing to do anything to figure out what was causing her problem or treat her. they said "doesn't seem serious but she should get it looked at" THAT'S WHY WE BROUGHT HER IN. They said they don't have the supplies to treat or test the skin issue, if an emergency vet doesn't have supplies as basic as that, they shouldn't be treating animals.

My pooch went in on Monday for tests and upon realization that the lab hadn’t sent back results yet and wouldn’t be able to over the weekend, they called the lab to get the results over the phone so that we can begin treatment for my pooch for Valley Fever. I’m so relieved as it would have been a long weekend watching him suffer, and although he has a long road ahead to recovery, it’s such a peace of mind to know that it’s not cancer or something fatal and that he can start medication tonight. Thank you to the staff at Blue Pearl for going above and beyond and giving great care to Ranger!

Read all the 1 star reviews and avoid this place like the plague. They will kill your animal or at the very least leave you waiting so long that your animal will suffer unnecessary trauma. The staff here are the rudest, most incompetent and lazy, and quite frankly, sociopathic people I have ever met. RUN AWAY from this place!!

Thank you to the staff and vet at Blue Pearl on call the night of 7/30/21. Last night we had to have an unexpected emergency euthanasia for our kitty Box Car Willie. We were able to hold our boy while he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and the vet was SO very kind. Times like this are extremely difficult but to have a compassionate and caring staff and vet during the process helps ease the pain of saying goodbye. Thank you.
