Our olde English Bulldogge puppy broke his tibial tuberosity and needed surgery. They schedule him for the surgery 2 days after the injury, they very clearly explained the injury, the surgical procedure and the precautions that would be taken as bully breeds need special care for anesthesia. They kept us informed, kept him overnight with a vet technician there and provided clear post-op instructions. The entire team was great and I want to thank the tech that checked him out on Saturday morning, I don't remember his name but he made us feel that he looked after our puppy like he was his own. The surgeon, Dr Steurer, really made us feel that he was looking out for the best interests of our puppy. It was overall a positive experience under stressful circumstances.

This place is the absolute best! My dog hurt her leg really bad and her regular Vet said she needed TPLO surgery and gave me three referrals - and that it was going to be very expensive. I called all three and none of them could get me in for at least three weeks - one place couldn't even get her in for a consult for four months! And none of them would even give me a ballpark estimate until they saw her. So I took to Google and found Southwest. They were so kind and professional on the phone, told me about what it would cost if everything went well and got her in for a consult and same day surgery three days later. We got there and the place looks like a regular surgical center for people. I was super comfortable with the doctors and and the facility. I got a call after her surgery and that evening the 2nd shift nurse called me to give me another update. Then by 8 am the next day I got another call from the overnight nurse. We picked her up with great instructions and a follow up appt. scheduled, and $400 back because she did so well. She's doing awesome and we owe it all to Southwest.

No one wants to face the choice of an expensive emergency medical procedure for their pet but SSVS was upfront and honest about the cost, risk, and potential outcomes. My dog had an intestinal blockage and his only chance was surgery. They took amazing care of my doggo and the procedure was a success. If any of pets ever need surgery again this is where I will bring them.

We were terrified to have our dog operated on. WHen we met the people at Southwest Veterinary Surgical Service everything just fell into place. They were absolutely amazing. They did a great job on the dog and they made my brother-in-law and I feel very comfortable. I can't say enough about these people.

Most importantly, the double knee surgery went well. Additionally, the staff was always available for questions. This was especially important immediately after release from surgery. Our Bree is still on limited exercise, but all is looking great for her at this point.

Southwest Veterinary Surgical Center performed TPLO surgery on our dog Ollie. I am most impressed with their responsiveness to all my questions. They answer very quickly via text and address all my concerns. The reason I give four stars instead of five, is because of the extremely long wait time we were in the office waiting for Ollie to be seen on his surgery day. It was frustrating but the amazing service we've received since then and great care for Ollie, has made up for that. I definitely recommend taking your pet here for surgery.

Upon entering the facility the process was very smooth and fluid. We were met curbside promptly. Escorted to an examination room where we were briefed about the procedure. Every detail was explained thoroughly. The nurse and doctor were very positive and had great energy.

I live in Northern Arizona and was advised by my hometown veterinarian that my pet required a skilled surgeon. My Jack Russell terrier’s hernia repair was too complicated to be repaired in their office. A family member who lives in the valley suggested Southwest Veterinary Surgical Service and I am so glad she did! Southwest Veterinary Surgical Service made everything easy from the beginning. They contacted our local veterinarian and got all of my pet’s medical information and they were able to schedule the consultation and the procedure for the same day due to the distance. They scheduled our appointment at their Peoria office as it was closest to us (about a 2 hour drive each way) even though I initially contacted their Mesa office. Everyone I came into contact with was friendly, caring and professional. I felt immediately that my fur baby was in capable hands. She is home now, and doing great. Thank you Southwest Veterinary Surgical Service and Dr. Dixon!

Solid group of people here. Top notch surgeons and support staff. I hope I never have to come back, but not because of the service. It was exceptional.

Last Tuesday, 14 September 2021, we had to rush one of our feral kitties, Psycho, to the vet. We were leaving in the car and saw her screaming in pain! She couldn’t stand up or walk. We immediately took her to the vet where we learned that Psycho had broken her pelvic bone. The fracture was pretty bad. We were advised to seek out a veterinary surgical hospital. So, after hours of searching, we found Southwest Veterinary Surgical Service. They were GREAT! Psycho underwent surgery yesterday and will make a full recovery. However, she will be kennel bound for 2 to 3 months for a full recovery. Here are a few photos of our little fur-ball. One more kitty added to the household... ???? ❤ Ancient Egyptians worshipped many animals for thousands of years. Animals were revered for different reasons. Dogs were valued for their ability to protect and hunt, but cats were thought to be the most special. Egyptians believed cats were magical creatures, capable of bringing good luck to the people who housed them. Lori & G2, Psycho's mom & dad, I.E. 'Cats have Staff' LOL

The staff here was very compassionate. They were able to get our dog in for an exam much sooner than others. They have a multitude of specialists for whatever ails your pet. I would highly recommend their services.

Great people there, everyone was so nice and our dog had surgery and spent the night there. I received 2 calls about his status, 1 at 8 pm and another at 8 am from the night crew watching our baby. They were very knowledgeable about his condition and explained what meds were given and how he was doing. They really did a awesome job. We will use them again !

Clearly 5 stars all the way. Everyone there is more than professional. They are compassionate, understanding, super communicators, and they left nothing to chance. All staff members we met were efficient, caring and followed up on absolutely every thing that was promised. Their calm manner was reflected in how my dog responded to them and the treatment she received. Their communication at each stage of the surgery was very detailed, timely and all questions were answered clearly. If ever needed in the future, no other service provider will even be considered. Dr. Dixon was extremely knowledgeable and very, very skillful. They made this very traumatic experience less stressful.

Dr. Dixon and the staff at the Peoria clinic were absolutely amazing. They took the time to listen and answer my questions. They were so understanding about the fear aggression of my baby and was so patient with him. They explained all they were going to do and followed through with all their promises. Was so nice to hear from Dr. Dixon, personally, after surgery. They called with many updates and took the time for my questions, concerns and some conversation. Thank you, specifically to these technicians and client service staff for their patience, caring and understanding: Allison, Alex, Alexis, Cameron, Jaycie and Mariah. I am sure there were others involved that I don't remember their names or never met. But to you all... I am grateful! Thank you all for taking care of our baby.

I'm thankful that Gizmo may have gained a few more years in the mass removal. The cost was so exorbitant, however, I wonder how many animals die because first your costs are ridiculously high for the average person, and second, you want it all up front before even touching the animal. Also, I found out later I could have been spared thousands by seeking out the nonprofit veterinary hospital in Colorado, or at least the Veterinary college in Phoenix; secrets you keep from customers who express personal concern how they're going to come up with the thousands required to save their beloved pets. I find that part of it callous and heartless. I thought veterinarians chose that vocation for the live of animals...not the greed for money. So there you have it. For me honesty is the best policy.

Dr Dixon and his team are excellent. I would not trust my dogs surgical to anyone else moving forward.

Excellent surgical care, terrible communication from the office. Dr. Dixon was fantastic as were the techs. The communication prior to our appointment was poor. We had to contact the vet on call 2 days prior to surgery to find out what we should do for food and water. We were told to arrive 20 minutes early only to end up waiting (outside in 100 degree temp) for a half hour. We were texted just before our appointment while driving there, i.e. unable to read it. The communication after the surgery, however, was great.

Knowledgeable, responsive, caring practice! Dr. Dixon clearly knows his stuff and every staff member I encountered took as much time as needed to answer questions and do whatever it took to take care of my puppy's complicated fractured leg. In reviewing what they did with friends in veterinary medicine, everything was done to the highest standard. I hope to never need them again, but this is the practice I would choose for any surgery in the future.

I am so grateful my regular vet referred me here. They have been so helpful. Dr Jones has guided my dog and I through a very difficult journey and finally have my dogs diabetes under control. Instrumental to this was our technician Chesea

SVSS surgeons and staff are all very knowledgeable and professional. But more importantly they are very caring of both you and your pet. They treat your pet as if it were their own and take the time to answer all your questions so you have no doubt about the procedure as well as follow up care. My dogs, Lilly and Sally love everyone that interacts with them while they are there. Tremendous thanks to Dr Steurer for the recent operation on Sally. Highly recommended!
