VCA is wonderful! When my boy had a grand mal seizure followed by a string of smaller focal seizures they got him in right away. Took great care of him and watched over him to help control the seizures. They then had their on staff neurologist check on him and work with us to adjust his medications to prevent seizures. He thankfully has not had another one for 5 months now and I can not express how grateful I am to the amazing people who work with VCA and care so much.

One of our cats, Charlotte, was sick with pancreatitis last week and we had such a great experience with VCA ARECA. Dr. Moyer, Dr. Thomas, and all of the vet techs that we worked with while Charlotte stayed in their hospital were extremely …

Unfortunately I had to allow my baby priscilla to cross the rainbow bridge ???? on new years day. She was totally fine at Christmas then a few days later starting acting like she wasn't feeling well. I took her in to be seen and her kidneys were failing.... as much as it was horrible ???? it wouldn't have been fair at her age to put her through treatment that may not have helped her and cause her more distress. My baby got her wings that day and everyone here made things as pleasant as possible. Thank you VCA for helping make my furbaby pain-free ❤

The staff of VCA Areca helped us through a very difficult time for our boy Lucky. They performed an emergency surgery on him to remove a mass from his abdomen the day before Christmas Eve when everywhere else turned us away. After surgery they kept us updated every step of the way on Lucky's condition and were only just a phone call away if we ever had questions. Lucky was able to come home after some time in ICU and spent New Years Eve resting with his family. Unfortunately Lucky did not recover the way we had hoped and we had to say goodbye just a few short days following his return home. Even at the end VCA was there to guide us and provide care for our boy and helped us feel a little better knowing that we did everything we could for him. All of the staff are amazing but we would like to give a special thanks to Ashley and Dr. Sinha for their incredible kindness. Any pet would be in good hands here. Rest easy Lucky.

Although I do understand why everyone feels its expensive, they saved our girl Daisy (Boxer Dog) and for that we couldn't be more grateful. The amount of care she received was worth every penny. She was previously over at another emergency vet, twice. So coming here after a week of no answers was a sigh of relief! She had an undetected blockage - They took action right away, were experienced and saved our girl when no one else could or would! They showed compassion and it went a long way because by this point I was a wreck, lacking sleep and thought I was gonna have to say bye to our Daisy. She went from sick and miserable to now, recovering nicely. Every front desk gal we spoke to was on their game, and patient with us. Thank you guys for saving lives. And staying kind, knowing pet owners get distraught. You guys stand out and will always be a part of the story.

Absolutely wonderful experience here tonight! Our vet tech, Caitlin, was very professional, reassuring, and kind. She made our visit so easy during a stressful time!

Unless your animal is literally on their death bed these people won’t take you. I had been trying to get someone to see my cat after everywhere being closed for the holiday weekend. I told them he could barely breathe or move and had been throwing up constantly and they told me he wasn’t sick enough to even be seen. Receptionist was rude, terrible customer service. Luckily Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic cared about his life enough and took him in without hesitation after I got refused by this place. What a disappointment of a pet hospital.

BEST 24 HR VET!!! Came in the middle of the night because our dog was really sick. We got seen IMMEDIATELY! And the prices were beyond good! Great service, our dog got the medicine she needed right away.

My little Silky Terrior, Dakota, was seen by Dr Ulrich on Dec 12th. I am so pleased with the care and results of this visit. The Dr and staff go out of their way showing compassion. It was well worth the 80 mile drive!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have taken my dog here for emergency treatment two times and the first time they sent me home with meds. The 2nd time after the meds didn't work they told me it would be at 2 to 3 hour wait for a dog that hasn't eaten in almost a week with no offer to triage him. I am now driving to a different emergency vet in Scottsdale. Whoever answered the phone today was snide and lacking any empathy. There is no supervisor on weekends so I'll be calling again Monday to get an explanation for this terrible service. Hopefully with my dog alive and well.

Unless your animal is critical, like, on death's door, don't come here. If anyone from front desk answers, they'll likely hang up on you a few times before finally taking your call (but say they put u on hold). I was referred here by another hospital and called ahead to let them know my situation and if they were accepting. I was told "it was better to just come in" so they could see him. Once I arrived and called to check in, they told me they weren't accepting any more patients... WHAT?!? you're supposed to be an emergency facility and stop accepting patients?? I convinced them to take my pet based on prior conversation, but considering the lack of care/concern I have no doubt the receptionist will make sure my wait is SUBSTANTIALLY longer than necessary. Additionally, upon expressing my frustrations w/the receptionist, she called me disrespectful (mind you, I didn't yell, swear or call her out her name) she threatened to NOT ADMIT my pet...again...what kind of facility and STAFF would decide to punish a pet in need of care? If this is the level of compassion from the front desk staff, I would be highly concerned about the rest of treatment.

I took my dog there her leg detached from her hip, with out a blood test , the 18 year old vet told me she had cancer, worst he seen, and showed me a xray of it, and put her down, because of being dirty from work, I was judged and my dog paid. I took the hair they gave me and had it tested in Colorado, came back with palmatic acid poisoning from a customer I was doing work for. If you own a pit bull or a pit bull mix, stay away from this hospital they will find a reason to euthanize your dog, the picture was takin 3 days before they put my dog down,

We brought my son’s cat in a couple of days ago, emergently, with an unbeknownst to us complete urinary obstruction. Sadly, we lost him. It was heartbreaking. Throughout the sudden event, the staff were empathetic, caring, and handled the situation with urgency. They took my son’s cat from his arms when they saw him, and rushed him to the back to treat immediately. We received a call shortly after from Alexis McLaine, giving us her findings and plan to attempt to save. During the conversation, he went into cardiac arrest. Ms. McLaine managed to bring him back and call again. Unfortunately we were too late and he was too weak to sustain life. She was very sweet and honest while conveying her honest thoughts on the situation, and asked for my son’s decision and permission. Awful situation. But I can’t thank the staff enough, and to A. McLaine for her hardest efforts, deepest compassion, and on the minute communication. We’ll never forget the way we were treated during a time when we needed you most. Thank you so very much for doing all that you could.

I had taken my 3 year old pit bull to 2 different emergency vets before I came to this one and got an answer. My baby boy has lymphoma and although very heartbreaking, thankfully they referred us to the oncologist in Tucson and they took us in right away! I will never forget what the staff did here for my boy. He is now doing very well on his 4th round of chemo. Thank you so much. ????????

My dog baby was attacked by another dog and I was freaking out because he had several large lacerations, I called several other clinics and unable to get in anywhere. We had Sarah and Dr. Heuss help up and they gave me plenty of options due to my financial constraints and I was incredibly worried about not being able to afford to save my dog they literally saved him and it was incredibly affordable for the service we received I’m literally shocked at how amazing they were to both me and my baby I highly highly recommend going here. I hope I don’t have another pet emergency but if I do this will forever be my families go to

The day of our emergency was a nightmare. It was a holiday and we drove all over The Valley with my dog critically ill being turned down everywhere because they were at capacity. But this VCA took her and the vet tech noticed right away that our baby (who was only 10 months old at the time) was pale and got her inside ASAP. My dog was so sick she was admitted to the ICU. If it wasn’t for the vet tech and the rest of the wonderful staff, my dog wouldn’t have seen her first birthday. Thank you to the great emergency staff and internal medicine for saving her life. It means everything to us. Cameron gets to continue playing with her favorite toys and keep our family whole.

I had to take my English bulldog into the hospital as my vet was not able to get him in on an emergency visit. The team at VCA were absolutely amazing. Thank you Dr.Brian for taking such great care of Tubby. The nurses were amazing and I appreciate everything you did. The whole experience was fantastic. Thank you again.

I came here when my puppy was having an allergic reaction. Her legs were swollen and belly was bright red and she was shaking with a fever. It’s a Sunday so I was thinking this is going to cost me a fortune. They got Hera in right away, didn’t do any unnecessary testing. They prescribed her meds and were very professional. I’m thankful this place was open. The price is what I would have paid at my vet, I was shocked at how reasonable it was!!! Thank you for taking care of our sweet puppy!

I took my dog in at 11pm one night with concerns of him being sick. The staff was so friendly and gentle with my boy the whole time, they listened to my concerns and found out what was wrong with him. The staff treated max with such love during his 2 day stay. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I brought my puppy in with a rawhide bone piece stuck in her throat. They did everything they could, unfortunately the piece was large and ripped her esophagus when they tried to remove it. They were so kind and obviously upset at the loss of my fur baby. While she is no longer with us I felt better knowing she was with people who truly cared about her welfare. You can tell this isn't just a job to them. Thank you to the staff for caring for my baby.

This place is great! We had to take a newborn kitten here several times this past week. The staff here was beyond patient with me and super helpful. The vets are so great that I wish I was able to make them our regular vets! Our unnamed cat will be in great hands if there is another emergency. Thank guys you were all amazing!

VCA will take your money, (> $20K) - if you question ANYTHING, they will abandon your pet....There is no way for me to respond to your comment...so i will do it here. To be clear, so that you dont mislead other customers. Mutual resolution??? On the same page??? I have no idea what you are even talking about. The only conversations that anyone other than Madison had with me in the last couple of weeks at VCA were when you were demanding more money money from me. And, trust me, we were on the same page. You got ALL the money you demanded or you would have let my dog die. Further more, had I listened to Dr. Keeney's d/c plan, my dog would be dead. Finally, without so much as a single word from VCA, you literally cancelled my dogs f/u appointment less than 24 hours before the appt. Now, I have found another amazing vet clinic and and an emergency vet hospital that is less expensive, far more compassionate and far less money hungry. If good, unconditional vet care that isnt entirely about money is important anyone reading this, especially during an emergency, go to the Scottsdale 24 hour vet clinic at 7311 E. Thomas Road.

I waited close to 7 hrs for an update on my kitten because someone did not update the number on my file and they kept contacting the wrong #. I provided the number to the first person I spoke to and kept calling in every hour or so for an update only to be met with the response that someone would contact me. They were prompt in asking for payment though. Good location and good people, just be sure to confirm your number with them.

Came to have my dog seen and they took her back right away. Was called by the vet Brian on an update within 15 min. Everyone was super friendly and I felt like my baby was in good hands. Thank you so much.

They helped me right away. I called first and explained my situation. They said to bring my dog in right away. They attended to me quickly, let me know what my options were and price. It was seedless. Highly recommend VCA Animal referral and emergency facility.

I found out Sept 12 2021 after a regular appt at Banfield that my baby had a very large mass growing. After calling around a bunch of places about getting a ultra sound I was able to get her seen at this emergency VCA. I found out she wouldn’t make it through the week. My baby was diagnosed with aggressive tumor and most likely cancer. The staff was extremely attentive to my baby and walked me through helping her cross over. My life changed in the matter of hours. They handled her like family. I didn’t even tell them she loves being in blankets and they brought her to me wrapped up and warm. Butters is usually very fearful of vets and other people in general. Yet she was completely comfy. They made this loss a little easier. I am so so thankful for the staff here. And I even recommend my friends and family to these guys. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CARING FOR MY BABY BUTTERS. YOU WERE ANGELS. Becky I believe was the lady who I talked to on the phone initially and then she was there the rest of the way. Thank you for being so kind and genuine. You guys made the worst day of my life less stressful and I know Butters wasn’t scared and that made it better. Thank you all again

Easy 5 stars. VCA ARECA is very responsive; someone always answered the phone. The three persons I spoke to all were informed on my cat's situation. I called VCA ARECA around 10:30pm right after my cat's injury occurred. They told me their wait time may be 2 hours and how to do the curb side drop off. They got to my cat within 20 minutes for the first look and called me with an update. I got the call from the doctor about 20 minutes later with the diagnosis, care options, estimated cost and took my questions. The nurse called after a few minutes to go over cost and payment details. The three persons I spoke with are all very courteous, responsive and great a relaying the details. And the operation and post-op recovery went very well. The cost was what I expected for a late-night operation.
