Exceptional Pets Mesa, Arizona

My pit bull (Junkyard Jack) has gone to 4 vets so far, for his horrible rashes he gets. This vet was the ONLY vet that got him under control. They give him an allergy shot every 6 weeks and my tough little guy is finally comfortable! Thank you exceptional pets! You guys are the best! ????

The staff is extraordinarily courteous it surprised me. They were also able to work with me when it came to my dog, which was not only good for me, but my dog as well! I absolutely recommend them!

Took my dog to board there for two nights and he had horrible diarrhea after. That may have been because they gave him different food, since I brought him with just enough for the stay and there was still half left when I picked him up, or it may have been stress colitis which I understand but he’s been boarded at other facilities before and never been so stressed. This isn’t too big of a deal to me but he came with a bandage that I guess he chewed off at the exact moment I came to pick him up so the ladies replaced it in the lobby, where I could watch. The bandage technique overall was poorer than expected but what really got me was that she didn’t have bandage scissors so, rather than going to find some, pulled out a BOX CUTTER to cut the bandage material that was ON his leg. A loose blade that doesn’t offer much control to the user was her choice of tools.

My dog was born during Covid. He was unable to really get socialized with other dogs. The staff at exceptional dogs went above and beyond to listen to my cares and concerns and showed a level of true professionalism. My dog had a successful meet and greet and we look forward to a long relationship with Exceptional Pets.

Price for service reasonable. Looks like the technician did a good job. But upon entering the premise there was no one to greet customers, I waited over 10 minutes before anyone appeared. Then they were suppose to contact my pets veterinarian to confirm vaccinations and failed to do so, which then had to postpone the service until I went home, retrieved the documents and returned. Again upon returning no one was at the desk and had to wait several minutes for anyone to show up to check-in the dogs. So initial customer service severely lacking.

This place is amazing. Only place I’ll go from now on. My dog had on going problems for 3 months and after 3 different vets this was the only place that figured it out. The doctors and nurses are so kind and willing to help.

I called 2-3 other places and all of them were booking apts way out like after Christmas and I needed my dog groomed immediately! I called one day and was able to get an appointment the very next morning. So grateful, my dog had gotten into a bunch of weeds up in Flagstaff and they were matted into her fur and she needed a bath. Thanks for the quick response.

The first visit at this location was uncomfortable with the Medical Director as our vet - it felt as though he did not read the charts. He brought up issues that did not exist and continued to press on topics that were irrelevant to the visit. The second time was to put my dog to rest (I brought him here because it was close and it was his final appointment, so I assumed that the service would not be terrible) and was with the same Veterinarian. It took two hours for him to finally come in and give my dog the medication. We sat in a cold room with an old/anxious dog. I walked away grateful that I had a little extra time with my bud, but heartbroken that it took so long for the hardest decision. Not only did it take a long time, but the vet questioned my decision multiple times and suggested pain management for my senior dog that had multiple health concerns and a difficult time moving around. As if I didn't feel terrible enough to make this decision. He asked if we were going to stay and commented how most people don't stay in the room while they give the animals euthanasia. To top it all off - a ceramic paw print is an additional option that no one discussed. I have put 3 dogs down over the last 3 years (all seniors) and this is the first time that I did not receive a paw print automatically. I suggest no one takes their fur babies to this location.

They usually dona pretty good job. I take both my dogs there to be groomed. One is friendly, the other is terrified of everything. So she does not get the same attention. but it doesn't look like she was groomed at all. It's a bummer because everyone seems very nice and I didn't want to take my little dogs elsewhere and try to get them comfortable again. But Exceptional Pets is not close for me there are much closer places. I guess I will try them.

I just took my 2 husky's here yesterday & I loveeeeee this place! My boy dog has his winter coat coming in & WOW THEY REALLLY DID A GREAT JOB DE- SHEDDING HIM ! My girl looks just as great too! DEFINITELY WILL BE MY NEW GROOMERS!

This place is amazing! I bring my Labradoodle here for grooming and everyone there is amazing! I've been coming here for a little over a year and have had nothing but exceptional care. Will be a long time customer!

I love Exceptional Pets! I called after hours on a Friday for a health concern for my dog and got a response the next morning and an appointment for Monday! They were great about working with my schedule and getting me in as soon as possible. All of the staff from the grooming side to the veterinary side are kind and courteous. I trust the groomers with my Lab and will never take him anywhere else. Top marks!

I have used E P twice now the staff are really good facility is clean, well run , I have 2 special needs dogs 1 blind ,1 deaf and the staff takes great care of them .

My score is like 4.9 stars instead of 4. It is extremely difficult to find someone who will bathe and groom my two large dogs or shave my golden without lecturing me about golden hair (yes, I know it may not grow back the same and I still want him shaved.) I am so glad I found them! My only complaint (If there is one) would be that they did seperate my Doggos after their grooming session and my golden has bad anxiety if not near my shepherd. When my husband went to pick them up he knew they were seperated in the kennel because both of them were barking loudly and that is not typically how they act when they're together. They looked great though and we'll definitely come again!

My dog is very timid at first meeting new people, however she opened up to the staff very quickly! I was very worried she would be miserable the few days I was gone, so I used the awesome petcam app they have to watch my pup (seriously, I could not stop checking on her!). On her second stay, my pup Chloe was PUMPED to see her new human friends again & I even heard one staff member who was training a new team member say, ‘Chloe’s back!’ from the 2nd floor balcony :) TOO CUTE!!!! Thank you all! & we can’t wait to come back next month!

Awesome place. My dog loves his baths & cuts

Never knew this place existed. Went here because I needed Zignature dog food which isn't carried at you big dept stores (which says something about the product) found organic dog treats and high quality dog food responibily priced. Definitely will go here again. Vet was there on the phone with a dog owner and seemed very concerned about dog. High ratings for me.

Had my dog groomed for the first time at the Mesa location. It was exceptional. I found my new groomer!

I had an emergency with my dog and exceptional pets was the only place in a 4-Hour radius that I could get my dog into. She needed to have surgery and they performed the surgery very well! Everyone was very caring, sweet, attentive and professional. They answered all of my questions they made my dog very comfortable. I will definitely be using them again. I highly recommend them.

Don’t know how u cut nails in 5 minutes And my dog is happy.

I have been taking my dog here for around 2 years now for grooming and vet services and this is the best facility so far! The staff are friendly, professional, and are well priced. My dog is a miniature poodle mix who had some health concerns about a year ago and they took extra precaution to assure he is safe and comfort during his grooming appointments. I know when I drop off my dog he is safe and well taken care of. I recommend this facility to everybody!

Rachel was very sweet and Our German Shepherd Kimber looked and felt amazing. Everyone was very nice and professional. We will come back. Would recommend to bring your pet here for a great day at the Beauty salon.

I love Exceptional Pets Mesa. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our groomer, Paige is amazing. She takes care of all my dogs and does an awesome job. My dogs love her! So glad I found them!

Molly (Maltese/Terrier mix) loves getting her spa day at Exceptional Pets Mesa. They also love her too. Overall, everyone is happy. ????

What a rip off! I was quoted a specific price for two dogs and have a confirmation email that they were to receive a junior suite. My son goes to pick up the dogs and charged an additional $100 as they put them in two separate rooms and not the suite as quoted. Was never informed of the change and was told we didn't ask when we checked the dogs in for another quote. How many times do we need to ask. I was then told it was just a quote, so they apparently feel they can quote you one thing and charge you another. So make sure you ask before, during, and after the fact!

Miscommunication issue resolved .

Wonderful so far,I take my Corgi every two months for a trim and he comes out well groomed.

I’m so glad I switched from Petsmart to Exceptional Pets. And I think my dogs do too. The staff are always friendly and they interact with my dogs is a caring, professional manner.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I’ve been coming to Exceptional Pets (Mesa) for over a year now. The staff is always extremely friendly, helpful, welcoming and professional. I HIGHLY recommend going to them for vet care, grooming, boarding, supplies and anything else you need for your pet. They truly take care of your pet like their own and genuinely care about your pets well-being which is something that I think is very important. I feel very comfortable leaving my dog there and know that she’s in good/safe hands. The entire staff goes above and beyond to provide the best service and ensure that every pet is comfortable and taken care of to the best of their ability. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for pet care- the Mesa location is the one I frequently go to and definitely recommend them to everyone!
