I Want to APPLAUD Dina and Dr. Pelio for taking care of our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Luce) today for her cardiology appointment. Their professionalism is absolutely the best, as is their caring, kind and compassionate ways. This is our 2nd cavalier to be under the care of Desert Veterinary Medical Specialists group, and we know Luce will get the same great veterinary skill and attention that Hudson did. Dr. Pelio's very gentle way definitely puts a worried pet parent at ease, with complete explanations and plenty of time to ask questions. Even time for viewing a picture of his lovely Pomeranian pup. Dina's follow through is always right on. THANKS Dr. Pelio and Dina- you two are absolutely FANTASTIC. Bonnie LaRussa

Consultation with Dr. Church was outstanding, I understand my dog's situation completely now and feel that I can now make a very informed decision.

Dr. Riensche and her staff are incredible. She cared for my senior cat for almost 4 years. He had a combination of issues, including possible small cell lymphoma (she never pressured me to biopsy), CKD, chronic pancreatitis, and arthritis. She always understood that i wanted to focus on quality of life, and she never pressured me to feed any kind of RX diet. It was always easy to leave a message when i had questions, or needed medication refills. And when my senior cat collapsed and died suddenly at home two weeks ago, she called me and help provide me some closure on what likely happened. I'll certainly be back of when, or if, any of my other animals need speciality care.

The people were so kind and helpful. They made sure my Tucker was taken care of and helped me come up with a plan for future care. If you're pet has an emergency, this place is your go-to choice????

My dog needed an echocardiogram and they were booking for next July. How sad.

These folks are simply the best. From the specialist we see for complicated medical issues, to the staff who is always caring and attentive to the ER facility that has literally saved our pup more than once. You’re in good hands here.

Dr Jones is the vet I have been searching for!! Our dog has Cushing's disease, which can be difficult to diagnose AND treat. I was very impressed with the depth of her knowledge. The time and effort she put in to our visit isn't something one sees every day. Then a few days later, I received a DETAILED email reinforcing every thing she said, outlining the plan of care, explaining each and every medication (what it's for, side effects, when and how to take), and a copy of the full H&P (history and physical). I haven't seen full documentation like that since I worked in the ICU. Having my own hard copy? Priceless! Cannot recommend Dr Jones and this practice highly enough!

What can I say about this place. Absolutely terrible in every way. Overcharged me. Did not resolve the bladder issue with my pet just gave him an additional prescription. Canceled on me 2 times when I took the day off work I had to beg the 2nd time not to cancel. They also didn't call a prescription in which I really needed and were rude about that too. I would never take my pet here again they obviously have enough business that they can treat people rude and unprofessional. Worst experience I've ever had in my life. Don't take your pet here they won't help and they don't not care!

Hands down the nicest vets in the East valley. They take the time to listen to all your concerns and discuss all the options.

The vet staff is extremely courteous, professional and most importantly actually listen and include notes. Dr. Renche herself is incredibly empathetic and can give you hard news without sounding robotic. It's clear she actually cares and explains clearly and concisely what the issues around your pets visit are and how to handle them, while being friendly and understanding. I live in Goodyear, but her outstanding professionalism has made me consider it worth the drive to Gilbert to ensure the best care for our pets.

The ophthalmology clinic was wonderful. Everyone was very kind and helpful, they took great care of our dog who lost her eye due to sudden glaucoma.

My Ruby was sick for 6 weeks. She’d seen numerous vets who had no clue what was wrong and gave me very little information. It’s been roughly two weeks since Ruby saw Dr Emery Jones and her vet tech Mallory. We finally have a preliminary diagnosis of a very difficult to diagnose disease. Dr Jones is by far the most knowledgeable vet I’ve ever met. The same goes for her vet technician who is next level smart as well. I was frustrated by the lack of diagnosis and ineffective treatment before seeing DVMS. Now I’m hoping I can make Dr Jones and Mallory Ruby’s primary care team.

Dr. Riensche has been wonderful to work with. She is knowledgable, responsive, caring, and is responsible for the recovery of our year old puppy. We owe her an enormous debt of gratitude and would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Church and the support staff are excellent in every way. He has saved the lives of two of my dogs and continues to give all of my dogs the best of care. We drive from Tucson for our appointments, and it is worth the time and the money. Thank you, Dr. Church, Deena, and all your support staff! ADDING TO MY PRIOR REVIEW, NOW IN JUNE 2021: I've been visiting Desert Veterinary Clinic for over 5 years. Dr. Church and his staff are caring, attentive, very knowledgable and sympathetic. He and they have treated six of my dogs for various heart ailments, a few in emergency situations. I have Dr. Church to thank for saving my Ollie's life when he went into heart failure. He was honest with me and kept me informed step by step with his recovery. With Dr. Church's excellent followup care, Ollie lived another 3-1/2 years with fine quality of life. My Louie developed collapsing airway disease, and the internal medicine folks were just as attentive and kind. I highly recommend Dr. Church and his clinic for your beloved companion animals.

Although I didn’t go in with Reya, my husband did. I appreciate your patience and understanding with her regarding her fear anxiety! You also put us at ease knowing that there is no treatment at this time!

Dr. Church is a very thorough and compassionate cardiologist. I had a chihuahua with a heart murmur when Dr. Church was first starting out so I was already familiar with him and his practice. I just discovered my current chihuahua, Andy (12) came from a liter where all the puppies had heart murmurs and are all now deceased. I knew I would feel more comfortable bringing him to Dr. Church for confirmation that he does not have a murmur. Dr. Church assured me that he did not hear a murmur but said if things changed to bring Andy back. He spent time with us and I left feeling confident that Andy is in good health.

I am so pleased with and grateful for our experience at DVMS. Each person we interacted with was professional, caring, and showed sincere interest in our case. The surgeon took the time to explain our options, the procedure, the process, and next steps. My doggo is super stressed at the vet, but otherwise a great guy. The staff recognized his stress and allowed him to spend time in reception both before and after his procedure. This meant so much to me and to him. I appreciated receiving photos and video of the procedure too. Overall, just an exceptional group of folks to work with. Many thanks DVMS!

Hands down the best communication and care I've experienced for my pets. The staff is amazing and does their best to educate and give options.

This was a very pleasant experience. The staff was kind and highly professional. Our concerns were addressed. Even though we had several questions, none of them was forgotten by the staff, and each was answered to our satisfaction. Despite it being a busy practice, I appreciated that we were given thorough individual attention.

If something from your vet doesn’t seem right, get a second opinion and listen to your gut We had to put our two year old Australian Shepherd Charlie down this week. She was on antibiotics prescribed by Dr Renchi (spelling?) due to issues with vomiting. She would get sick once a month or so and our primary vet couldn’t figure out why. This was a long term problem though so it wasn’t something new for her. Fast forward the doctor gave us a 6 week course of antibiotics that immediately made her significantly worse. Her appetite was almost non-existent and she started getting sick at least once a week. We told this to Dr Renchi and we let her know that she was immediately much much worse and she told us to keep giving them to her. After the antibiotics were done she remained worse. She would barely eat and kept getting sick and Dr Renchi then put her on a four week course of steroids, which is apparently a very unusual amount as all of the doctors at the hospital were very concerned by this and immediately started weaning her off them. This was a huge red flag. At this point she really took a nose dive and ended up going into kidney failure. None of the vets at the hospital that she spent her last days in would admit it but everyone knew what happened. Dr Renchi killed our dog and the only mistake we made was listening to her against our best judgement and not getting a second opinion. I wish I could go back and do things differently

I was very upset upon arrival, still upset today. At first I was mad but saw how caring of a staff is there. My heart goes out to everyone that works there with the biggest hug. I lost my Murphy, they did the best anyone could with taking the time and care of me, it was a heartbreaking decision but he is in a better place and no longer in pain. Thank you again for everything that was done, this is very hard for me, they did the best at comforting my baby and myself.

Gizmo and my experience at the Gilbert office were great and I felt supported, heard, and got the answers I needed to help my cat. I am so thankful for the kindness and understanding from the staff. Everyone made me feel confident in their abilities and I felt reassured that we were doing the right things to help Gizmo. Thank you so much for helping us!
