I boarded up to 3 horses there for 12 years. Living less than 3 miles away I was there pretty much on a daily basis. Owner Susan Wolff was feeding moldy hay and moldy shavings, plus advising her barn staff to feed the “bad” hay to those owners who weren’t there as a rule. I can only hope that new ownership has integrity and a true love of horses!????

Bess is amazing!! I have 2 young boys with special needs, they both developed a wonderful relationship with Bess. Safety is a priority and they were both placed in very appropriate horses. The atmosphere is positive and professional, supportive and fun. I highly recommend Bess and Northern Arizona Riding Stable!!

Northern Arizona Riding Stables has been my "second home" for over ten years. There is no other place in Flagstaff I would rather be than NARS! The owners and staff have consistently provided the best care to my horses. The barn manager, Corrin, is attentive and always helpful with any needs I might have. The trainer, Bess, is incredibly knowledgeable and has allowed my horse and I to progess more than I ever thought possible! All barn staff is friendly and provide a beautiful and clean facility. NARS continues to meet all my needs and expectations. I highly recommend this barn if your are looking for a place for you and your horse(s) to feel at home!

To anyone who knows me, as a veterinarian, my pets are my children. I only stand for the very best care for them, and because of my high standards, I choose to board them at Northern Arizona Riding Stables. This facility is top notch with staff that truly care for the animals and clients. I have boarded there for the past 3 years, and my kids have been so well cared for. I know that if there were to ever be an emergency, they would call me right away and give the best care. Very impressed with their professionalism, friendliness, and high quality animal care.

This facility is under new ownership with a highly unprofessional owner and an inexperienced barn manager. My horse was boarded in an unsafe stall with wire where he injured himself right below his ear. When I tried to take him to the vet because it looked infected, my horse trailer was stuck in the mud and my truck got stuck trying to get it out. With the sale of the property, the area where horse trailers used to be parked was sold as another parcel. As a result, clients are required to park in the newly designated area down hill where water flows and a mud bog is created - in a prairie dog colony with huge holes and soft dirt. There was no planning for clients to park there. This includes no preparation of the ground for parking trailers and NO emergency trailer on solid ground to take a horse to the vet. As a result, my only choice was to have the one vet that will make a farm call in Flagstaff come out. They charged me $400 just for the after hours call which didn’t even include an exam. If I could have gotten my trailer out this would have been completely avoided and I could have gone to a vet of my choice. The new owner gave me no consideration on this matter. I was basically trapped. Additionally, both barn stalls I was given were often filthy and stunk where urine was covered over instead of being removed. Throughout my stay there I was frequently cleaning my own stall. I was very worried about my horse’s infection and it getting worse because of the filth so I removed him “unceremoniously” and I was wrongfully evicted with no notice from my RV spot for “bad mouthing” the barn and for “picking fights”. The new owner threatened to have an impound company come get my RV. Fortunately, some kind people at Stallings Performance Horses came to my aide. I have photographic evidence of the dirty and disorganized condition of the barn, wire, injury, mud and threatening texts. DM me if you would like to see these. Also, the barn supplement feed areas have open bags of feed and there are vermin. The feed is left in the barn aisles where if a horse got out and got into it a founder or colic would surely ensue. Additionally, NARS needed to get the brand new recommendations from clients to put on their website as I asked that my recommendation from a few years ago be removed as I will not recommend NARS in its current state, to anyone. I was also threatened with defamation when I mentioned I would be using social media to share what happened. ????

This place is perfect. The staff are some of the nicest, professional and knowledgeable people. The management and ownership are super concerned about the experience that you have and what they can do to make it better. My company couldn't have picked a better place to go. I will be coming back with my family for sure.

I’ve boarded my horse here for three years. The staff are amazing and I feel like family. Bess is an amazing trainer and a walking encyclopedia of equine knowledge. Corrin is a fun and friendly barn manager, running the place with efficiency and a smile. Fantastic facility with lovely trail rides.

I am so grateful for this stable! I came up here for the summer from Phoenix to enjoy the cooler weather in Flagstaff. My friend recommended North Arizona Stables and I am so glad she did. I’ve never had such a great experience with a stable and the ladies who run it. Corrin the barn manager is so attentive to my horses needs and is always giving me updates when I have to go back down to flagstaff for a few days. I also get to pay for turnouts that is super helpful so my horse can get some love when I’m gone. Bess the horse training (and much more) at the barn is so knowledgeable and loves horses. She has taught me so much about riding and how to go back to the crucial basics. The barn hands are so kind and Jayden helps out with exercising horses and clean up around the barn. And she’s one of the most knowledge teens I know. I attended a camp this summer for desensitization for the horses. And it’s the best thing I’ve ever done with my horse. We worked with tarps, stuffed animals, sparkly strings, American flags, and so much more! They also have endless beautiful trails to ride on right from the barn! I highly recommend this stable to anyone looking to come to flagstaff! They love horses and really care about each horse.

I have gone to the stable a few times for camps in my younger years during the hot summer to be able to ride in the cool climate. It is full of both spectacular horses and trainers, and amazing for younger ones to go for a weekend of camp to get to know other riders and learn communication skills with both the horses and their co-riders. Furthermore, the trainers and other advanced riders are kind, talented, and always have a smile. Strongly recommend this barn. Doesn't compare to any other in the flagstaff region, and is the personal favorite of mine in the state.
