If your dog wants to lay around docilely all day they'll love it here -- they'd probably love it anywhere. If your dog wants to run, play, and act like a dog this facility will eject them immediately. This is strictly a strip mall dog warehouse. I watched on the live video feed as my 19-month-old lab ran and played with a couple of other dogs, having a great time. I watched the male attendant watching and playing with the dogs as he went about his work. As expected. But when my dog first arrived I also saw the female attendant obviously didn't like my dog. She grabbed him by the collar the minute he came through the door and held him most of the time until the guy took over that room. Ultimately "the staff" agreed to expel my dog, even though the male attendant said there was no problem. Maybe it's poorly trained staff. Maybe it's their intentional business model to limit themselves to docile dogs that require nothing. But if your dog runs, plays, and acts like a dog steer clear of this strip mall dog warehouse.

I take my 50lb. 1 year old Shepherd here routinely, and we've been returning because the staff are awesome! They're always happy to see our boy, and they strive to keep the dogs engaged and friendly. They've got multiple cameras you can use via your phone to check in whenever you'd like - that's a standard of trust I like. Five Stars!

This place is incredible, and well worth the price! We recently left our dog Scallywag there for 11 nights after realizing really close to our departure date that he had grown too big to be taken on JetBlue. We were very distressed to have to leave him for so long, but Happy Pets is the best of the best. We brought Scally to daycare there a couple of times before we left, and we realized immediately that this place is not like other doggy boarding facilities. The employees are obsessed with animals and are genuinely kind/good people. Linda is a god-send. She took Scally to the vet for us when we were away because he came down with an ear infection in the middle of his boarding period. She even brought him to get a pup cup of whipped cream at Starbucks after his vet visit!!! In addition, we were able to watch Scally everyday on a live-stream app. It was so fun seeing the staff play with him and the other dogs. We will be using Happy Pets indefinitely. *UPDATE* As you can see, I initially left a five star review for HP as we had absolutely no complaints regarding the service for several months and raved about it to our friends and family. However, I believe the quality of service has been declining for three potential reasons (complete speculation) - 1) huge surplus of dogs at daycare and boarding due to PHX housing boom / end of Covid-19, 2) staff turnover and/or less active management, and 3) my boyfriend and I told the staff a couple of months ago that we would be moving to Colorado in August. We have spent thousands of dollars here, and I’m not kidding when I say it’s our second biggest monthly expense after rent. We were very surprised to see how our dogs were treated at their last boarding stay, which was 6 nights long. We were in contact with the owner because we noticed that neither of our dogs were on the livestreams the first day of daycare/group play. We found out that one dog was displaying Kennel Cough symptoms, so they had him quarantined for the whole weekend. Mind you, our other dog (6 month old pup) had just recovered a couple of weeks prior from his HP induced Kennel Cough - so that’s 2 out of 2 of our dogs getting Kennel Cough from HP a full month apart. Our other dog (the puppy) had been removed from group play due to excessive mounting, which is definitely fair and we do not hold a grudge about that (he’s not neutered yet). We were overall pretty upset about the lack of communication during the stay and felt like we were not getting perfect information (they called about our dog showing symptoms but did not alert us of our other dog being removed from group play for the entire day for mounting). However, my breaking point was when we got home from picking them up and realized 1) that our dog’s blankets and toys were drenched in stale urine and 2) that one of our dog’s food was hardly eaten - since I measured out each meal before dropping them off, I was able to calculate that he was given less than 1 cup (closer to 1/2 cup) of food per day when I clearly wrote on the bag that he should get 2 cups. On the first point, It is absolutely unacceptable to let dogs sleep in their own urine for multiple days. Period. On the second point, someone was either not feeding my dog or didn’t care enough to call and let us know that he was starving himself. I asked multiple times how he was doing and was not told that he was not eating. These are blatant signs of neglect. Advice for Happy Pets: Put a cap on the new dogs you enroll - It’s getting out of hand and it’s clear that you do not have the staff needed to support the growth in clients. Give discounts/refunds when boarding dogs are put into quarantine/removed from group play - $54 is a lot of money and if a dog isn’t getting the full daycare experience because of kennel cough / bad behaviors, the parents should not have to pay the full boarding amount. Many businesses will separate out the overnight fee (usually ~$20) from the group play fee (~$30), and I think that’s the right thing to do. I’m rooting for you but there are big changes that need to happen.

I will start by saying I really appreciated our dog's time at Happy Pets Palace; he went periodically for approximately 18 months and seemed to greatly enjoy it. I don't have any issue with the care provided. He was bitten by another dog once but it was minor and he seemed unbothered - I think the incident was handled reasonably. That said, as mentioned in some other reviews, we have now been asked not to bring our dog back. He's a basset hound who is not quite 2 years old, so young, but a goober. As far as we know, he has never been aggressive nor has he harmed any person or animal. We were essentially told that he annoys other dogs and staff can't get him to stop being annoying, therefore he's no longer welcome. Of course I'm not there so I can't speak to exactly what is going on, but the response seems drastic given we're talking about dogs.

I have called both locations multiple days in a row and they do not answer their phones. Goes to VM. I was trying to get info on their facility for my pup but this is no way to set a first impression. Can't imagine if my dog was there and I needed to get ahold of a staff member. They won't pick up!

I love love LOVVEEE this place! Their amazing with my boy???? he’s always so happy to show up to the daycare! After spending one week with them he now pulls me to the door and goes off with no hesitation! It makes me so happy to know my baby is taken care of and I can check in anytime on the cameras! UPDATE** they ended up kicking my boy out after he was in an altercation 2 times the first time wasn’t his fault, and the second time we believe he may have just been overstimulated, but they were not willing to work with him and it’s horrible that just my boy was at fault and had to leave the center! I wish they would have been more willing to work with him, and maybe not have him in such an overcrowded class with just one person to watch all them!

They have no patience at all especially for husky breeds. Short story is they assume I got an email stating my pet is no longer welcome, well they assume wrong, specially when front staff knows Sasha and greeted her, apparently manager lacks communication in customer service but also in there staff I won’t be recommending this place for my husky friends

My 1yr old Catahoula loved his time there. Shakes his tail when we pull up. They have a video feed for us to watch him at anytime as well! You can drop them.off for the day too for a small fee. It's totally worth it!

If you love your dog, this is the place you want your dog to be when they are not with you. The staff has a passion for dogs and it shows. My dog is always happy when he realizes we are arriving and I can check in on him throughout the day via video. Totally professional and wonderful staff and business.

This place is great, it's hard to take my puppy somewhere and leave her. But after meeting the people here and seeing their operation it was easy

I always feel like I'm leaving my dog in good hands when I drop him off at Happy Pets. All of the staff I've interacted with have gone above and beyond with their friendliness and professionalism. They LOVE the pets they board and you can tell. I've had my dog stay at both the Mesa and Chandler locations and they are both great.

This review is for the Chandler location. We have boarded our three girls here twice in the last six months. Once for 3 days and another time for seven days. Both times appeared to be much less stressful for them than traditional boarding, and the girls were in great spirits and health. It's more like sending them off to doggy summer camp than boarding. Very happy we found this place, and will definitely use again whenever needed. Gucci, Mocha and Cookie love Happy Pets Palace.

Wouldn't take my pups anyplace else! Linda, the owner, is awesome. You can watch your dog virtually via an app they have too. We've tried both locations in Mesa and Chandler for boarding and day care and couldn't be happier.

We absolutely love talking our dog here for daycare and boarding! They are amazing and spend so much time with the dogs! We really appreciate how active they are on social media sharing pictures of the dogs during the day! Plus the cameras let us check in at any time! We have been to other daycares in the area but this is by far the best!

We have been taking our dog to Happy Pets Palace since he was a 3 month old puppy. The experience has been wonderful. Our dog Oliver loves to play with the other dogs. The staff is very kind. We feel extremely comfortable with the attention Oliver gets. All dogs are screened before they are accepted at Happy Pets Place. We never worry about injuries. And it is fun to watch the dogs play, using the cameras provided by HPP.
