We have been to 3 vets to try to find a diagnosis and an effective treatment for our small dog. Dr. Volpe at AZ Skies finally figured out what was probably wrong and prescribed a treatment that hopefully will be curative. I would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Nelson and her staff especially Michelle are the only ones I recommend seeing. She is knowledgeable and caring, especially with giant breed dogs which I have. Giant Breeds need different care due to their large size and rapid growth. Dr. Nelson keeps up to date on all the latest veterinary information and work with you when times are tough without making you feel guilty either. They help the community and have no problem answering a million questions or concerns you have to make sure you understand what's going on. You won't regret taking your fur babies here. I've been taking my pets there since 2008 prior to Dr. Nelson acquiring the practice. I wasn't sure I was going to stay when Dr. Nelson arrived. One of our dog at the time was an aggressive rescue who hated men, had surgery on both knees as a puppy, hated all vets and was in pain often. Dr. Nelson was very gentle with her and built her trust. In turn our dog who hated all prior vets loved going to see Dr. Nelson, and greeted Dr. Nelson by give her lots of kisses and hugs until she passed of cancer which Dr. Nelson diagnosed and took care of her till that time came.

Very happy to have found Arizona Skies! I was able to get my kitty in for a same day appointment. The staff was very knowledgeable and kind. I called with follow-up questions and the vet was quick to respond. I will be taking all my fur babies here for now on!

Dr. Nelson is great, very knowledgeable and helpful. I've been taking both of my dogs here for awhile. There was something that Dr. Nelson found on one of my dogs that another vet had missed. She had a small mass in her mouth that another vet who had cleaned her teeth did not point out. Not only did Dr. Nelson find this and point it out to me, she later spent her own time trying to look into it further and get some more information about it. I was very grateful because it could have been something bad (it luckily turned out to be benign). Dr. Nelson also discussed DCM with me and various ingredients in dog foods that have been associated with this condition. I ended up changing dog foods after learning more about DCM. She keeps up with the current research and this is important to me also because I want to keep my dogs as healthy as possible. I would definitely recommend Arizona Skies Animal Hospital.

I asked Dr Nelson to see my sister's dog who had severe glaucoma and needed an eye enuculation. Chicago where she is from was very expensive. My sister was visiting over the holidays with her puppers. My sister said she has never had an vet take the time that Dr Nelson took with her precious dog. The procedure was performed at 1/3 of the Chicago cost, and Dr Nelson called my sister every night including Christmas Eve to check in on her. I am so thrilled I pushed my sister to try our vet. The Sutures were perfection, and were removed before they headed back to Chicago and she is pain free. So very blessed to have such a skilled and caring vet at the same time.

They took in my puppy immediately when she swallowed a sock. They also cared for my pup for eating various other items causing stomach issues both immediately in person and over the phone. They have a responsive front desk and compassionate vet that explained everything, helped us immediately, and truly cares for our puppy. Couldn’t have asked for better care while we have been visiting Arizona. Very grateful for this practice!

They are amazing! Dr. Nelson and her staff are hands down the most caring animal lovers. My 6yr old lab came to them with the weirdest of symptoms and issues and they took their time and care with her and after 6 months of treatment I have my fun loving lab back! We drive to them all the way from Buckeye, that's how much we love this vet and will never go anywhere else.
