These people are wonderful !!! My puppy and I are clients for life now.

The vets and the vet techs at this clinic are very professional, compassionate, and polite. I had to put my 12-year-old dog down because of a splenic rupture, and the doctor let me stay with her as long as I liked in their spare room after. I bring my other dog here all the time, he's a bit more difficult than she was, and they know cut to the chase with him. They handle my insurance in a timely manner. Update after 7 years: Still great! I called after a long weekend because my dog got himself a scratch on his eye and it was looking kinda gross but it wasn't an emergency, the front desk said Dr. Maggie was overbooked but I could text a picture. Dr. Maggie called that same morning saying "Hey you can bring him in or we can try antibiotics, it looks minor" (which to her credit is basically a free visit, so I don't expect that to happen often or really ever) and I was able to pick up the antibiotics that afternoon. She really cares about your pet.

Called for a quote to get a male cat fixed and it was priced over $650. Talk about price gouging.

Have an older pup who couldn’t stand when she woke up. Watched her for a bit. Tried to feed her but she wouldn’t eat. Got concerned and called East Anchorage VCA (our reg vet clinic). They told me to bring her right in. When I arrived they already had check in paperwork done and I immediately saw Dr Maggie. After checking Ivy out, they prescribed some meds and sent us home. She’s back to her normal ol’ self thanks to these folks. Probably an over-reaction on my part taking her in but can’t thank all these people enough for their quick response on such short notice. Five stars aren’t enough!

SUGAR UPDATE: This morning VCA East Anchorage Animal Hospital tried to force us to sign a surgery agreement with over $1000 additional charges after signing original agreement at $1474 one day before her surgery. They tried to add additional testing we choose not to have which would have made the bill over $2200. We questioned the malicious intent to VCA Animal Hospitals and they vindictively cancelled her surgery with a donation deposits for her surgery with $265 outstanding balance due tomorrow that we were going to finalize per their agreement. Meleah Fowler, Office Manager, intentionally slander our family to VCA Corporate. My past experience with her when I was 15yo working for VCA, she verbally abused me at work as a minor and was my first job. Fast forward, Then took out her grudge for over 25 yrs on Sugar by denying her a surgery without the veterinarians approval or knowledge of changing the estimate after being signed and agreed upon. They also refused to hold to the contract and agreement set forth on her last appointment, including trying to charge us additional $240 for a process that was already paid for. We are currently seeking a new doctor on Feb 15 with a renown Doctor that has helped our Rugers passing and our First Alaskan dog, Boomer, saving his dog via emergency blood transfusion. Please pray for resolution. We were not going to get bullied into more charges from greedy company and doctor from VCA.

They did a great job keeping my boy calm and comfortable, while observing Covid precautions. They did a phone intake, then came out to the car to bring my pet inside for his appointment. They were quick and courteous, and the follow-up coutresy text a few days later to check on my baby after his shots was really thoughtful.

The staff is always very caring and understanding. Always makes me feel comfortable asking questions.

I really like the staff and vets here. Sometines the price seems high, sometimes its low. But they make it super easy to book apptments, pay, and text/drop off.

Awesome!! They were very understanding that I didnt have a vehicle (Covid-19), and went above and beyond for my dog!

we have been to vca east 3 times. Each time trying to coordinate our finances with procedures the receptionist was very rude. With a nasty tone and comments like "well she needs to have this looked at, its just going to get worse, in addition to the uncertain cost in procedures. We ask questions so we can make financial moves and plan as money is extremely tight since we are paying for IVF. I didnt appreciate our conversation with her the last 2 times we spoke. I and my husband felt as tho she showed zero compassion for the situation and zero compassion for a consumers RIGHT to understand what they are paying for. We have had every intention of bringing dixie in but felt like we were put down and shamed for asking questions about the financial aspect of things. I would also like to add this is the first animal hospital we have been to in the 8 years of being dog owners that did not give set pricing. Thw vets are amazing but the staff need to work on customer service

Dr. Maggie and all of the technicians here are wonderful! They really go the extra mile for their patients. I'd also recommend signing up for care club with them!

There's not a better Vet Clinic in Anchorage. We drive from the opposite side of town just to visit this clinic for two of our dogs. We have contemplated switching our 3rd dog to this clinic as well. The staff and Dr Maggie always go the extra mile to accommodate us. They have really made caring for our special needs dogs less stressful and we love that they routinely check up on our dogs to make sure they are doing well.

Our Cat Sheepy had a bloated belly for the last few days and with one appointment they were able to diagnose the problem and get surgery right away, we couldn't be more thankful with how kind and helpful they were with our cat, our baby. Never going anywhere else.

I've brought my cat a few times for routine exams and shots and each visit has been pleasant. I was impressed with their implementation of curbside service during Covid. The technician came out to the parking lot and collected my cat while I waited in my car. The vet called me afterwards to go over the exam and answer any questions I had.

I got my dog spay at VCA East. I was very scare about the procedure because my dog is almost 7 years old. VCA did a great job. She heal well and fast. I only didn't enjoy the staff member that took my dogs labs days before the surgery. She seems to mad because my dog was scare and she was not confortable with other dogs aroung wanting to play. That actitute almost made me turn away and cancel the apt but I am glad I didn't because the vet that helped my dog was super nice and kept my dog safe. The vet even answered text messages and check with me every week to see how my dog was healing or if I had any concerns. I will use them in the future for wellness checks and other procedures!

Thank you to Dr. Maggie and all of the staff at VCA East! Our large pup recently had two surgical procedures, and I was very nervous about making this happen given COVID precautions. This clinic went above and beyond to make sure our pup was seen and treated, all while exercising great care with social distancing/protective measures. Thank you for answering all our questions and making sure our pup was taken care of!

Dog i known for over 10 years ,since i was 10. Had to have him put down. Nothing really to sweet coat. I needed to step out & smoke. The staff i couldn't thank more for handling my dogs last time on this earth with professionalism & courtesy

VCA always takes great care of my Jack Russell. The veteranary doctors are knowledge and well versed for excellent care for your pet. Great staff!! This is somewhere is definitely visit again and recommend to others. It's really a place that cares about your pet.
