The Pet Stop Anchorage, Alaska

I have been to multiple veterinarian clinics in my pet parent time. Pet Stop has been one of the best that I have encountered. Veterinarians are excellent diagnosticians and they are very good to my pets.

Wonderful team of professionals. They truly care about their patients. I never witnessed one patient come in where they weren’t greeted by the staff in a loving manner. Excellent doctors as well with good communication. Thank you!

Dr. Chang is awesome! My husband and I. And all of our fur babies all have and do love her to! Highly recommended. ????❤️

Dr.Willis was amazing with our vet anxious dog! He took the time to make him feel comfortable and didn’t try to push him more than he had to. I recommend him to everyone! Overall the best experience I have had at a vet. Even the front office workers are so nice and helpful. So glad I switched over to Pet Stop!

Staff is great with all of our pets, always friendly and caring, they do a great job of explaining what is wrong with your pet, sometimes its hard to get an appt., but they will try and work you in if they dont have any openings, defenitley worth checking out if you are looking for a place to take your fur babies

Wow! Pet-Stop is the best! My dogs and cats love going there. The front desk gals are awesome. Sharon so kind and considerate. And the Docs really care about the Pets large and small. A shout out to my Doc Chris Michetti who we adore, Dr. Wilson and Dr. Palmatier you are the best! I’ve been going to the Pet-Stop for over 20 yrs. This place has gone above and beyond for my pets. Michael's an awesome groomer and the staff are always kind. Our chihuahuas are nearly 7 years old and we've been taking them to The Pet Stop since they were about 10 weeks old. We've never had an issue and quality is consistently high.

Great pet. E.R. took my 3 month old puppy in very quick and made sure he was ok. Treated his ear infections and charged a reasonable amount for a pet emergency.

I enjoyed my made-to-order omelet. My daughter loved her eggs Benedict. Friendly service, clean restaurant, huge portions and a great cup of bottomless coffee. What more could you ask for?

Rude staff, pulled my pupper before the grooming started. My Maltipoo had a bad feeling about the groomer, and he was right.

The vets are great but the front desk staff are always rude. Often go elsewhere because they are so rude to deal with over the phone.

I have been taking my pets here since the late 80's or early 90's. The staff is always friendly. The vets are knowledgeable and treat my pets well. We will keep bringing our pets here because all of the staff is caring, helpful, and kind.

Dr. Boyd was amazing with my dog Nova. I came in with very vague description and general symptoms, but she was able to find a severe UTI and get the right treatment going. She even called me after to make sure I knew what to do and what other follow-up steps were need. I have recommended all my friends and family to switch! I am more than satisfied.

After being a twenty year client of this Vet, I was surprised to find out how unqualified they are!! In October 2019, I made an appointment to get our Yorkie in for an appointment because she could not use her limps and could barely stand up. The Vet made a diagnoses as GME and prescribed 10 mg cortisone tablets twice a day. Our little Yorkie responded in two days and we ween her off the medication. Fast forward 6 months and our little Yorkie had the same symptoms and could not walk or use her limbs. We tried to get an appointment at this Vet during this Covid-19 but to no avail; not a return phone call for over 36 hours for an emergency condition. We went to Pet ER here in Anchorage and they contact Tier 1 in Palmer which had an Orthopedic Surgeon available. In the fall of 2019, We were informed by Vets at Pet Stop we had no Orthopedic Surgeon/Doctors in Alaska; of course we believe them, they were our vet for 20 years. So, we took our little girl to the Palmer and an MRI was performed and the results were absolutely shocking; she had 4 ruptured disc in her neck!! We were devastated at this news. However, this was our little girl and the surgeon gave us high hopes for recovery if she had surgery. She required immediate surgery because she lost function of her limbs. So, this became a no-brainer and we hope for the best however, our little girl did not make it out of recovery; trying to repair two budging disc at one time seemed to be too much and she took her trip across the rainbow bridge. We could have had better results if this diagnoses was revealed in October 2019 instead of the GME diagnoses. What really hit home was the Vet stating there was no orthopedic doctors here in Alaska and it turned out there are at least three available. So, I would really use extreme caution when given a diagnoses that this Vet Clinic. Also, please check the qualifications of each veterinarian on staff to gain a comfort level and most of all, get a second opinion!!! We lost our little girl because we put all our faith in this Vet Clinic and it definitely was the wrong thing to do. In addition, we are moving out of Alaska and we had an appointment to get our pets vaccinate on March 26, 2020; they cancelled the appointment and told us to reschedule one week before we leave Alaska; we called today and now it is impossible to meet that schedule of one week. We have lost all faith in this Vet Clinic and I will be glad to put Alaska behind us because of all the smoke and mirrors that comes from these people.

I brought my 13 year old dog to Pet Stop for most of her life. I have attempted to make an appointment for some of her elder care needs over the last year and they have told me they only have appoiments in 2 weeks, 3 weeks, and most recently 6 weeks. Sadly she is now at the end of her life, and we would have liked to have a vet we trusted to help her move on from this world, but they are unavailable.
