My dog went to clinic stable but needing Emergency surgery. Staff was pleasant and helpful, sadly money does seem to be such a priority at these clinics now. Unfortunately, my dog ended up with complication of peritonitis post op and …

When you call, there’s always another emergency they’re dealing with and no one to talk to about your pet. Often you don’t get a call back the same day. I left with more questions than answers. My pet now has has some level of renal …

I appreciate the staff at Pet ER. Everyone was very nice and professional, I know they deal with a lot everyday but they still show compassion. They were up front about costs and my dogs prognosis.

The care our dog received during a critical life threatening emergency was excellent. Dr Allison Melocik was quick to diagnose the illness which I am sure saved our dogs life. Thank you!

Called at 10:15 am and asked for more anti nausea meds for my dog. Called again at 2:42 and asked how long I had to wait for a call back as my dog is sick. She says well you didn’t tell me that. Why would I ask for anti nausea pills if my dog if he wasn’t sick? I said when are they calling back? She says your on the call back list. I hung up. After spending the amount of $$ there, they can’t call you back 4.5 hours. She called back and says I don’t appreciate being hung up on. I said don’t worry about it, my dog is sick, I’ve waited all day for a call back, she said you didn’t say that. I said I’m going somewhere else. She said please do. Don’t recommend them for the cost, manners on getting back to you.

It was a great experience for our pregnant cat not quite ready for birth. We can count on their help for sure.

Money aside, they look out for the best interest of your pets. Thank you for helping my dogs.

For being an “emergency” you would think a veterinarian would be on staff at all times. My husband brought our sick puppy there tonight and even though I called ahead not one thing was mentioned about a Vet not being in house. When my husband got there from Wasilla they told him they can take a look at her but can’t diagnose and the vet won’t be in for 5-8 hours so no treatment will be provided.

The staff was very helpful and solicitous in what is always a trying time. They kept us informed and our pet was obviously well cared for and came out happy to see us, but not stressed as they were when we left! I could tell they had been comfortable with the people and the surroundings.

I gave it 3 stars because the Dr. And staff are friendly but wait time is horrible. We waited 4 hours till my dog Charlie got seen and treated. I really do hope that you will find a solution for the longer wait times. It’s unfortunate that this is the only Pet ER that’s open 24/7. I’m still thankful that my dog is feeling better now after the treatment.

Staff was kind and understanding and took good care of my kittie. Care was limited that they could do and was referred out to a specialist. It was a looking wait but it New Year's Eve day so I know they were full. Overall, my experiences have been good.

The front desk is incredibly rude. Is this the only emergency vet in town?

We had to send our precious dog in for an exam to find out why she’s losing weight. Sadly there’s nothing that can be done medically for her. They took excellent care of my dog , for that I am eternally grateful, we love Sara so very much. Thank you for seeing Sara, we live in bush Alaska and there is no veterinary services. Thank you ????

Our boy is home and I couldn’t be more thankful to Pet Emergency Treatment. They saved my life by saving this Devil of mine. The staff there were some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. I really just wanted to hug them all. Dr. Riddle, omg I felt like he was trying to save his own dog the way he was with Ruger. Dr. Hefley did his surgery and talked to us before and after. She talked and explained everything like we were friends. Tia up front, her energy kept me happy when I was in there and Kelly, the manager, well she’s beyond a saint. There’s no other way to put it! She’s my hero. After the experience we had with them, I wouldn’t take my dogs any where else for an emergency!

Absolutely dismal staff performance. I informed the first front desk employee of my dog's symptoms at 10:30PM and asked for expected wait times. She informed me that they were busy at the moment but would call back near the end of her shift if things slowed down. I received a call at 3:00AM informing me that the clinic was not as busy, so I drove over. I informed the front desk lady over the phone that I was sick last week but had tested negative for COVID. The lobby was closed, but for some reason there was a man standing inside waiting, maskless. The employee was also maskless. I stayed in the arctic entry to complete my paperwork. The man poked his head into the entryway to inform me that I was blocking traffic through the entryway. I proceeded to walk outside, finish the paperwork, and then deposit the paperwork in the requested bin inside the arctic entry. I waited through the night and then called at around 7 to check on the wait time. After 4 hours of waiting I was informed that there were 17 other animals waiting to be attended to. My dog and I were able to get an appointment from our normal vet after an appointment had fallen through, so luckily I did not have to wait any longer without being given a time estimate. This vet ER has wonderful veterinarians I am sure, but their front desk staff team was an absolute disgrace. My night and morning were wasted, and I was left completely in the dark when it came to updates of any sort. Anchorage's animals and their owners deserve better service.

While I did find it a bit pricey, the staff was extremely polite and courteous. They did an amazing job of caring for my puppy. Even though they were very busy they took care of my dog with a quickness and kindness that made me feel like they genuinely cared for his wellbeing and safety. In my opinion their quality of service is unmatched in the city of Anchorage.

Receptionist was more caring than the Doctor. They kept misleading me that my dog would get better, to keep pumping money out of me. Knowing she wasn't. Vet care shouldn't have to be this expensive. We would just be waiting in a room for hours before someone came back. When they did come back, it would be someone different. I felt like they wanted me to give more money and keep my dog in there knowing that she wasn't going to make it or just let her go. I didn't really feel any sympathy other than from the nurse. If this wasn't the only pet emergency that was 24 hours I would not take any pet here

Nobody likes taking their pets to the emergency room. But the staff and Doctors here are fantastic. Everyone was kind and helpful. And in the end they fixed my poor girl right up. Thanks!!

Took our pup in after having a scare. Waited 5 hours to get in (they are the only 24 hour pet ER in Anchorage at the moment) and almost made it before a serious emergency came in. They were nice and said they would call us when the vet would be available so we didn’t have to spend the night in the parking lot. Got our pup in at 5 am and the vet and techs were great. Got her all checked out and received several options of treatment. We were also told to bring her back immediately if she got worse or just wasn’t getting better at all. All things considered I really recommend this place for after hour vet emergencies

Have been here a few times in the last few months (we tend to adopt dogs with chronic health issues apparently) and every time have been treated with such kindness, compassion, and absolute thoroughness. If your animal isn't critically ill, chances are you're in for a long wait. Fill your gas tank, bring snacks and a blanket - it's winter in Alaska. The reason for the wait is because these people are doing their most and best to help the animals currently depending on them. They care, which is rare to find. I always think about how I'm blessed to be able to wait, that we're not in a life or death situation. They assess stability when checking the animal in, so if it is an emergency - they'll get you in! Each time, we left knowing exactly what was wrong AND a game plan. I couldn't ever thank them enough for the consistent, amazing service.

I took my dog in 2 days ago. The staff were so compassionate and sweet. They quickly took my dog through and began to care for her. I was allowed to visit her for a while. The vet, Dr Richardson, explained everything to me very clearly and truly worked quickly and efficiently to save my dog. She called me every step of the way to keep me updated. We both received the best care and my dog is safely home and doing well. I cannot thank everyone there enough for the kindness and care they showed both of us. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

we brought our very ill pet in last week. with Covid getting into our regular vet has been difficult. The office staff was the nicest! we waited 5 hours in our car to see the vet. I had given all my pets history and recent reports to the office staff. hoping/expecting the vet would review them prior to seeing us. (she was currently being treated by her vet for a bladder infection). It was after hours and we were told to go to pet emergency. after 5 hours of waiting, knowing our pet was not doing well, we saw the vet. Dr Riddle. He was not very kind. He had not even reviewed all the records that had been provided and even asked "when is the last time you went to a vet", He did not provide any recommendations or support. I told him we were getting ultrasounds tomorrow and seeing a specialist on friday. ( I was feeling pretty sure she was suffering from cancer). we did feel comforted, were not given any recommendations or options. this "consult" was $115, and made us feel like we were terrible parents. not impressed. and will not God willing, go again...

The front desk woman in the early evening is EXTREMELY rude. I have noticed several other comments about this on here so maybe it is time to make a change. I am well aware of what an ER is but when I can't have my dog seen by my regular vet for over a week and she is limping around, I have no choice but to call the ER. The woman was so rude, asking me if I knew what an ER was and that well I'd just be waiting for hours. So unprofessional and lacking any ounce of compassion. Thankfully Midnight Sun animal hospital is seeing me tomorrow as an urgent care appointment. I'm extremely disappointed in the PET ER.

We went to pet emergency treatment last Friday with our 8 week old puppy. He tested positive for parvo and from the time they took him in and the time we got him back they were on top of his treatment plan, they all kept a close eye on him and did everything they possibly could to help our little guy fight it. Thankfully our miracle puppy made it and we picked him up today. I honestly don’t even know where to begin to describe how grateful I am for everyone who works here. The wonderful ladies at the front desk never got annoyed with how much I called, they were always super sweet and telling us they were rooting for him. The techs took amazing care of him, they played with him, loved on him, spent time to try and get him to eat on his own, and made sure he was getting everything he needed. The doctors really personalized his care, they made things happen when he started going down and really made sure he was getting the proper nutrients he needed. The most amazing thing about all of these people is that they were all treating snickers as if he were their own puppy, they were all sad when he started going down, they were all happy when he came back up and everyone was ecstatic when he got to come home. No one ever comes here on a good day and these amazing people definitely understand that.
