Had an appointment for rabies shots for both my dogs. They canceled my appointment. Ok stuff happens. They reschedule my appointment. My girlfriend and I make arrangements at work to attend this appointment. I get there and they tell me it’s to early for rabies shot. Both dogs not do till June. It’s currently January. Why was I not told this sooner? This is the problem with not being able to speak to people when you make an appointment. I’ve called twice and left messages. No one’s returning phone calls. Impossible to reach anyone by phone.

Great for the help to get my pet and many other peoples pets population control and health. One thing though they are quiet unorganized and all but it's cool what they do.

Super helpful and best price in town for puppy vaccinations. Online registration is intuitive and easy. 3 days vice 3-4 weeks anywhere else in town or the valley.

Takes awhile to get an appointment, but once you do, their service is first rate. They do go above and beyond.

When you arrive make sure you walk up to the clinic even though they ask you to stay in your vehicle. They are so busy that sometimes if you are not parked right out front then they might not get to you right away even if you have an appointment. I highly recommend using their new online appointment system.

Affordable services but I had to reschedule my cat and dog neutering appointments due to undisclosed pre op info. I never got an email. They let me know in person and I rescheduled. Come the date of re scheduling I’m asked for rabies paperwork which no one told me about. The guy “helping” me told me it was in the email and highlighted and even pointed out the example where it says. This is AFTER I told him I didn’t get the email. He said “everyone gets the email” like sir im not lying to you... I didn’t get it. funny how they have no issues sending me emails requesting me to make a deposit but suddenly it’s a problem to send me pre op instructions. Final thoughts, use aspca as your last resort. It’s inexpensive but a inconvenient process and they don’t answer their phones to answer questions. Frustrating process and condescending employees

Had to get both new cats fixed in September 2021, but Covid made it really difficult to find a vet. Filled out online forms and got an appointment call within about two weeks for each. Actual appointment was another two weeks after schedule call. Drop off and pick up were quick, everything was done through phone while in parking lot. It took longer than I wanted but both cats had a smooth surgery and recovery, and the staff were professional the whole time and answered all my questions.

My cat was booked to be spayed. Getting her scheduled was super easy and about a week later I got an email about her being scheduled. Drop off was quick and easy. My cat wasn't able to get spayed due to some unexpected complications during anesthesia. The doctor called me and told me exactly was was done and how my little girl was doing. She was super professional, answered all my questions and gave me advice on what I should do next. Then when I went to pick my kitten up, the doctor came out without me even asking and talked to me and made sure that all my questions and concerns were addressed. I would definitely recommend these folks for anybody looking to get their animals spayed/neutered. They truly care.

Never called me back. Been trying to schedule a spay for months. The online booking isn't user-friendly I haven't been able to schedule an appointment via that route.

Update 10/5/21: The influx of 5 star reviews seem VERY fake. Some may have a 5 star experience, but the authenticity of such reviews is highly questionable to put it mildly. There's a trend in 5 star reviews especially after the consistent negative reviews from proven clients who've all experienced the same recurring issues. Read for yourselves & scrutinize accordingly. It's very easy for Ms. Donnelly to beg clients to leave 5 star reviews, despite their genuine experience, and even easier to fabricate such reviews. Simply put, if this place genuinely cared about it's mission, there wouldn't be such a high number of dissatisfied clients experiencing the same recurring issues in operations & communication. This is a direct result of Ms. Donnelly's inability to effectively & efficiently lead by example. Ineffective & inefficient operations will persist until board members address this issue directly. Truth matters. Fake 5 star reviews will not save this establishment. They only contribute to the communities mistrust of a non-profit that is supposed to directly benefit the community at-large. The benefit seems most apparent in non-marginalized communities. Do better. Hire an organizational communication consultant to uncover organizational truth. Turn this place around. Do it for community! Update 11/22/20: Their response is very telling & a horrible attempt at deflection. A symptom of guilt—ask Trump. See invoice below. I’m a former client that was “banned” for speaking truth ????. Not a former employee. Don’t blame ur ineptitude on former employees. A current employee gave that absolutely false response. The issue clearly persists. Thanks for putting it on display for the public to judge for themselves. Original Review from Sep 2020: From the executive director (Kelly Donnelly) to the front desk staff, this facility operates inefficiently & ineffectively. Regardless of COVID-19, other vet facilities—especially non-profits—have a duty to uphold & fulfill their mission. That has gone out the window and is perpetuated by Ms Donnelly’s ineffective & inefficient leadership. This facility will continue to go down the drain as long as Ms Donnelly’s inept leadership is trickled from the top down. Patrons can do everything right and still be met with cryptic disingenuous disgruntled customer service. The compassion went out the revolving door along with several genuine employees whom finally said enough is enough. There’s a reason why employee turnover is so high. There’s a reason why patrons are often bewildered and appalled by the way they’re treated. I’ve personally witnessed a recurring transactional demeanor from employees towards “certain” patrons and it’s alarming! Ms Donnelly has failed this facility on every level. The actual vets do decent work. However, Ms Donnelly’s inability to effectively lead, overshadows the vets & permanently stains this clinic. I’m fortunate enough not to need this facility’s service. But unfortunately, there are many marginalized pet owners in Alaska who rely on this facility for pet care. They’re forced to deal with the clinics operational mess in order to obtain pet care at a reasonable price. And again, there’s visible disdain from employees to “certain” marginalized communities. The disdain shown towards “certain” patrons at this clinic took its final toll on me. Including Ms Donnelly’s blatant disregard and inability to resolve the issue in an equitable manner. The clinics new favorite phrase is “your welcome to go somewhere else” which effectively translates to “your kind is not welcomed here.” I encourage those seeking refunds to dispute the charges with the credit card company. There’s a reason this place is riddled with credit card disputes in favor of the customer. Her name is Kelly Donnelly.

The blatent shaming of the local rescues that work so hard to provide safety to so many animals that would be killed otherwise, is absolutely disgusting and distasteful. Very much not a professional post and leaves me permanently questioning the quality of the people that are running your page.

The staff and Dr.at the Ak .S.P.C.A. are top notch! We had a very positive experience with our dogs dental surgery. Dr. personally called after exam and before and after surgery. We in Alaska our lucky to have this fine community service, happy to support them.

I found myself very short on time amd needed a vaccine for my cat in short notice. Fortunately, a walk-in appointment was an option and I got my Sophia her shot with haste despite my concerns of being in a last minute position. Very warm and pleasant staff as well. I'll bring Soph back for future needs.

I took my boy in to get neutered. They do not let you in the building because of covid right now. Its not terrible, just different. I dropped him off in the morning and picked him up a few hours later all groggy from the anesthesia. Their communication was excellent and the staff was courteous and professional. My boy's stitches held well and he did not get infected. All in all it was a very good experience and I would recommend them for neutering. 5 stars.

We filled out an online form to get our two sister kitties a spay and vaccinations since they were about to turn 10 months! It took a couple of weeks to have a solid appointment and deposit down. We were sooo heartbroken to drop them off and leave them there! We had to wait sometime (20-35 mins) during drop off hours (7-7:45am) which was sad but the more time to love my babies, I did not mind. We nervously spent the whole day wondering about our babies but by 5pm I got the call that the spay was successful and they were good! They came home comfortable and after some food they are sleeping and relaxed. One of my cats managed to take her cone off though, we got it secured after 1/2 an hour of not knowing it was off since she went to her bed. I was skeptical and nervous all day but now at the very end of the night, I am appreciative for all the people who took care of our precious babies. There was no signs of any foul treatment, after all I was so scared of them being traumatized. The ladies at the drop off and pickup were amazing!! Honey and Zelda are safe and taken care of!
