I can't give enough praise to this vet office. They took care of my sweet girl and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. ????

All I can say is dr Andy has fallowed his dad’s footprints, and anyone who knew his dad knows that those are big shoes to fill but dr Andy has done it.

We've been going to Hillman for a few years and generally have had a positive experience. Until now. Earlier this week, my dad took our Labrador in for a swollen leg (thought it was broken or sprained). They took an x-ray of his paw and ran some bloodwork to rule out a snake bite or anything, and came back in to tell him that our dog had CANCER. No biopsy, no additional tests. Our options were chemo ($6k) or to put him to sleep. He had no other symptoms associated with the type of cancer they said he had. Today, he took him to a different vet for a second opinion. They ran extensive tests and x-ray'd his whole body. Our dog does NOT have cancer...he has ARTHRITIS. I am currently across the country, and have been worried sick that my dog was going to be put to sleep. All because someone wasn't certain. I'm beyond happy that he's not gonna drop dead anytime soon, but I'm livid that this vet clinic put us through hell. I'm giving two stars because this is the only bad experience we've had...but it's a huge deal. How could you do that to someone? Edit: Dr. Hillman and Dr. Lewis are great. This incident happened with the other veterinarian who works there, I just can't remember her name.

Dr. Lewis is awesome! I had a sick puppy with kennel cough, it was a Pet Land puppy so that’s how I discovered Hillman Veterinarian, they do there immediate checkup after purchase, they treated her for kennel cough that returned a few weeks later. I took my puppy to my longtime vet who after being treated for various other things still couldn’t get rid of her cough, after over $1000 in vet expenses and medications they wanted to send me to a specialist in Gulf Shores. With the mounting vet bills I decided to go back to Hillman to get help with them from Pet Land, while they’re Dr. Louis took the time to listen to me, we sat down and discussed all her symptoms and came up with a more aggressive treatment for kennel cough he prescribed steroids an antibiotics this time, my puppy got better and better and has been cough free, I can’t thank him enough, it was such a stressful time, he even called me twice at home in the evening to check on her ????????

I have a mastiff mix who is very scared of people and new places, Hillman was amazing with him! Wonderful staff and Dr. Hillman was in with us for almost a hour, never felt rushed even though they were very busy. Very well priced also. This is our new vet hands down! Thank you all for truly caring about your patient's, Brody is already feeling much better

Can't complain more...about how awesome my experience has been. We moved to the Pensacola area here via military orders and I was stressed about finding a vet that listened a staff that would take my nervous banter & understand us as dedicated responsible breeders. We did use a vet prior but the drive(4+hrs a day) and the lack of personal attention turned us off. Shannon was amazing! Front staff impeccable even with the crazy floods of walk in appointments. Ryan the Tech was amazing with Daisy! Dr. Hillman such a fun and amazing guy! Dr. Stewart was amazing with us, our daughter and our pupper getting ready to go onto new adventures.

Brought our cat in on a Friday of a holiday weekend. Despite them being insanely busy, the staff was super helpful and kind. We waited for about 3 hours to be seen (which was understandable considering the volume of patients). The doctor took an xray and noticed a problem. Got our cat in for emergency surgery immediately. The surgery went smooth and the doctor literally saved our cat's life. We're really grateful for that. Keep in mind this is a walk in only clinic. If you don't want to wait, get in line at 7:30 AM and be the first one in the door. They close every day from 12-2 to get surgeries done. Please don't harass the staff about it, that's how they have to do things. We love Hillman Vet!!

I honestly feel a little bad writing this. Everyone there (aside from the actual doctor I saw- older woman with orange hair who never even introduced herself) was super nice and very helpful. My biggest problem is that I brought my mama dog in with concerns of her hiding from her puppies, and I told them I didn’t think she was feeling good. I was told “she’s just a bad mom” when that couldn’t be further from the truth. She has mastitis (and is still desperately trying to help her puppies, by the way). Just as I suspected. And now she’s got an ulcerated breast because it’s gone untreated due to the doctor not even bothering to touch her or a single one of the puppies. She didn’t check anything. She just got us out as quickly as possible. Due to the disgusting looks she was giving my 2 year old, I’d say she didn’t like kids. But from what I saw, she didn’t really seem to care about dogs either. I’m disappointed, I’m disheartened, I’m out $85, AND my mama dog is sick and all my puppies lives are now in danger. Get bent lady. Truly. It’s time to retire. EDIT: Two days later and the woman on the phone told me she didn’t care that my dog had been neglected and that it wasn’t her problem. When I asked to speak to whoever’s problem it WAS, she told me I had to come in to speak to a doctor. But it’s another 2 hours of having to wait here before that can be done. DON’T BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT THEM!! They sure as hell don’t, and they’ll even tell you that!

I absolutely love Hillman Veterinary Clinic. The ladies at the front desk are so sweet and accommodating. They are always busy, but I’ve never felt rushed through and they take their time to answer my questions. The phones are always ringing, dogs barking and customers waiting at the counter, but they take care of business with a smile. Dr. Lewis is hands down the best veterinarian that I have encountered throughout my years as a fur mama. He takes his time and sits down to discuss your concerns and questions. I can’t say enough good things about him, but most importantly I feel like he cares about my dogs health and well being. That’s the most important thing to me.

This vet missed a fracture in xray and immediately jumped to idea of amputating my 4mo puppies front paw..we found the fracture with second opinion from a lady we know who works at vet. She looked at the puppy and said it was obviously broken and had her team look at the xrays and found the fracture/break... Unfortunately their services cost to much. We reached back out to hillmans for help and its been a week and they havent had time to look at the xrays again and keep sayin they will call us back but hasnt yet. I will not be going back to this vet and thanks to them my puppy now has to deal with this pain with only pain meds. Save your time and possibly your pet and do not take your animals here.

Edit 03/31/21- After finding a new vet clinic my girl is MUCH better. The new vet along with a Veterinarian friend say that the meds Dr Hillman was prescribing we're wrong all together and he should have known liquid amoxicillin wouldn't heal her skin problems. Even just a simple Google says it is a bad choice for the problems she was having. Im so glad I decided to go elsewhere. Now my puppy can enjoy her time as a puppy! My poor puppy is suffering because of this clinic. She has been here 3 or 4 times now and after several rounds of antibiotics, medicated shampoo, & other meds she is no better. She has had ongoing skin issues & not one single time has the vet tried to figure out what was causing it or done any test, he just gives more meds that obviously aren't working. I really feel like this is a place that is just about making money. They also have the worst hours of any vet clinic I've ever seen, they close 2 hours during lunch every day and aren't open past lunch on Thursdays or at all on the weekend. They also don't take after hours or emergency calls, that's passed along to another place. They also are walk in only and a typical wait is usually 2-3 hours. Do yourself & most especially your fur baby a favor & choose a better place than this one. Also, the lead vet & owner Dr Hillman was who we saw each time. Yes he's nice and has a good personality, but I'm looking for a reliable Veterinarian not a friend.

A simple x-ray. That’s all it took. Dr. Lewis and the staff are top quality. They saved my females life, after a grueling battle with bladder stones that no one else even looked for. It took an X-ray, and an overnight stay. My girl was in pain, and I could see it. The price of surgery and a stay was something I was tremendously grateful for. I like this clinic because of the quality of care. I’ve never felt rushed out the door. I brought my male in to improve his oral health, and he had some teeth pulled as well as a thorough cleaning. I’m so happy that both of my dogs have a better quality of life because of the staff here. I’ve since moved, but travel 25 minutes just to take them here, and will continue to do so. I also enjoy that on a case-to-case and established patient basis, sometimes they will let you pay for major surgeries and critical care in installments. To me, that’s dedication to their customers, and patients. It does get busy due to a high volume of walk-ins. But! Getting in for surgeries is completely reasonable. My grandmother even took her elderly schnauzer there for back-pain treatment to improve his quality of life, for a bit longer. She was also grateful to have more time before she ultimately had to put Oliver down due to his age and other health issues. Wimbledon and Winnie love Dr. Lewis, Dr. Hillman, and the staff! Top quality.

Dr. Lewis helped my 16 year old dog when no one else would because of COVID shutdowns. She lived a whole year longer because he listened and was caring and knew what he was doing. And when it was time for her to cross the rainbow bridge, he did a house call to help make the transition as comfortable for her as possible. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Lewis for this.

If you can, see Dr. Hillman or the woman doctor. I believe her name is Dr. Jeannie. Both amazing! I am always happy when we get one of those two! They are both great with our pets and very knowledgeable. The front desk could be a bit more friendly but I try to be understanding bc they are a walk-in clinic and constantly busy.

We just got our Akita puppy from Petland and he was going here for months before we got him. Dr Hillman has 30+ yrs of experience, professional, easy to talk to, and friendly. The front desk and tecs are just as professional and friendly, just understand that they are in a busy location. We will keep coming here.

Amazing staff and doctors. I brought my 7 year old black mouth cur hound in whom was very ill. I thought she had had a stroke, not only that come to find out she had pyometra. Which is a deadly infection that required emergency surgery they were all booked up for the day for surgeries and suggested me trying to find an outsourced surgery I was very upset in the doctors seen that it was urgent that Jesse needed surgery so he switched her into his schedule and got her into do the surgery that day he was very compassionate about his work and cared a lot about the animals that he's seen. I recommend this that to anyone who cares about their pet and wants people to treat them as you would.

I thank Hillman Veterinary Clonic for immediate spotting a serious potential issues with my dog’s liver. Another vet was collecting 40 per month and had not been able to detect potential health issues. Thankful that I finally have an answer regard my dog potbelly. Without testing Hillman’s looked at his belly and knew just by its bloat that there was a possible liver the observation made by Hillman was made 3 weeks after Meeko was taken for his semi annual health checkup with no mention whatsoever of his possible liver issues. Their concern was for Meeko teeth cleaning. I sought a less expensive option which led me to Hillman. Without running a blood test Hillman looked at his belly as soon as we walked in and said “this little guy needs his liver checked. “ after suggesting it I immediately said please do. And sure enough, his liver enzymes were extremely high. Thank God I went to Hillman!

I love this place! The staff is so sincere and compassionate. I recently had to put down my daughter’s elderly dog and a week later we received a sympathy card in the mail from the staff. So sweet! Thank you, Dr. Hillman.

I went in with a sick puppy. Throwing up, hadn't kept anything down in 2 days. The staff spent more time trying to find "old bills" of mine and my family members that they never even looked at the dog. When I said the dog was more important she brought another girl over to keep looking for old balances. When I said, the dog again, she told me I could just go somewhere else. Never looked at the dog, never asked what was wrong. Never will I go back to such a joke of vet. I'd love to say something positive about the vets or the techs, but I never saw one. To note, my family has used Dr. Hillmans office since the 80s, and I have great memories. I quit after Andy retired. Now I remember why. The old man would be ashamed of what that place has become. I hope my daughters puppy makes it, no thanks to this place.

I credit Dr. Lewis with saving my dogs life. For noticing something that the previous vet never did, and performing a surgery that has clearly taken her out of an abundance of pain and suffering that we could never find the root cause of. Bring your animals here. It's as simple as that. The staff is polite, and though busy...the care so far supersedes others, in my experience.

This vet is very experienced and caring. They aren't expensive, and they show that the animals are important. Best vet I've ever had, and hopefully the last vet I'll ever use.

I had an emergency with my cat and couldn't get into my regular vet which turned out to be a blessing. We seen Dr. Hillman and he was very knowledgeable, kind and took more time to diagnose my cat than the previous vet. I learned more from that 1 visit than I had over 5 years with the previous vet. I will be back especially since his condition is worse with summer verses winter he joked that I should pack my bags and move up north if I wanted his issues to be better and I really wish I could because wet flat land is boring.???? Thank you Dr. Hillman for helping my boy.
