Pet Vet Express Mountain Brook, Alabama

The staff here is unqualified to handle animals. I have two dogs, grew up on a farm, and have had lots of experience with both animals and vets. We have given this place a shot multiple times for simple nail trims, but they can't seem to even handle that. Took both my dogs up the road to another vet and got great service, and a much better price. It also seems like the staff here is only capable of handling dogs that cost ten grand with "doodle" in their pedigree. The staff was too scared of one of my dogs to even trim his nails and the other dog they keep offering a rabies shot for when she's two months overdue like she's going to come in and make them all feral. This whole place is a major eyeroll!

We have seen very good results with our elderly pug with existing health issues. Friendly staff and Dr. Burks has been wonderful providing care for our pup.

After some time, i wanted to write a review on my experience with Pet Vet Express. A while back, i started searching for a reputable groomer that had experience with grooming certain breed of dogs. After much time searching and speaking with the groomer there, i felt that they would provide a better grooming service than most other groomers in the area. I have a long hair purebred dog that requires dedication and experience to be able to groom the dog successfully. I have decided to leave out the breed in this review. Our dog is more of a rare breed canine that requires someone with patience and experience to groom the longer hair so that it flows, prevents knots and keeps with the overall breed's style. So, here goes; I dropped my canine off to be professionally groomed and waited to receive a call back on picking the dog up. First red flag, was when they never called to let us know we were able pick up. I had to call to see if the dog was ready to come home. After arriving, i was horrified on what i saw. I could not believe they called this grooming. Our dog was literally shaved to the bone and to make matters worse, they had literally shaved all the hair off the tail and ended up clipping the tip which caused extreme bleeding. Not only was my dog bleeding profusely, they did nothing to try to stop the bleeding. I was shocked that the vet on site did nothing as well and i had to place my dog in the car with the blood continually flowing. I was so mad that i had to constrain myself from going back in and ringing someone's neck. I hope someone else who reads this review thinks twice about bringing their dog here, especially if you have a canine that is a purebred and has special requirements when it comes to grooming. Just because of where they are located, does not mean the groomer and vet knows what they are doing. I could of hired a monkey to do the job that they did.

This was my first time coming and I can truly say I absolutely love this place especially Brandon groomer Christian. She’s the bomb!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The Pet Vet staff are always so kind to my dogs. The exam is thorough and Dr Burke is so good at explaining my dog’s health. Would highly recommend them!

I was able to get my sick dog right in. They were very nice and fixed her right up. I am thankful!!

I feel like I coming home every time I take Sophie to PVE for a bath or full groom. It's obvious the staff at PVE loves taking care of pets. Jennifer, the groomer, does a fantastic job.

Pet vet express is the best! They truly take the time to get to know their patients and are so kind and thoughtful.

We started taking our cat to Pet Vet Express because it was so convenient, but we will keep going there because of the great folks who work there. Even kitty approves - and she is tough to please! ;)

The entire Pet Vet Express team is absolutely top notch. My puppy loves Dr. Burks, Amanda, Erica, and the entire staff and gets so excited to see them with every visit! I cannot express how thankful I am to have had such an attentive, caring, expert, and patient team looking after my puppy and answering every question I've had as a new dog owner. They make vet visits EASY (something I never thought was possible), and we love being part of this family!

The good humans at Pet Vet Express in Crestline took wonderful care of our beloved dog, Chloe, right up to and including her death. They handled a difficult situation with empathy, compassion, and kindness. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for Chloe and our family. Thank you!

I finally tried this place after seeing all the before / after pics displayed in the shop window ! I noticed they were always busy ! I recently got a westie who needed grooming and I was honestly so impressed with the difference !! She was there on “ small dog day “ - the prices are the same as I paid at vet for a simple bath , nail clip etc ! I’ll be using them from now on! Noticed they do a beautiful job on Doodles too!! Highly recommend these people ! They’re super nice and they keep you informed as to progress throughout day! You get a darling little laminated card w your pups pic and shot record that is super convenient ! But mostly they’re just really nice people !! My Willow looks like a different dog since she started only 3 months ago ! Highly recommend!! ( Update (10/2020), I wanted to review “Kristin “ - she started grooming my Westie and she’s really good ! You can tell she is very experienced, she’s listens carefully to make sure you’re pleased ( like the length may change for you in summer vs fall , etc) I highly recommend these people (Amanda at the reception desk is a sweetheart too! )

Groomer listened to my requests and took time with my pets. The staff genuinely loves their pet clients. I couldn’t be happier with Pet Vet Express.

We have always had the best experience at Pet Vet Express! The staff is great. Thankfully, we haven't had the need for medical care other than regular shots, but I know if we ever do, Sully will be in good hands with Dr. Burks. Sully had a nice spa day yesterday and came home clean, fluffy, and smelling great!

Everyone here is very courteous and excellent at what they do. This has been a great experience every time we have brought our pets.

I have always had a very wonderful and personalized experience. Dr Burks calls himself with results, the whole staff knows me, my cat, and even my baby. Scheduling appointments is easy and convenient, even same day with problems. They make us feel welcome, loved, and well cared for. My cat has had a lot of health issues in the last year and Dr Burks and his staff have provided excellent care to not just my cat but to his upset owner too:)
