Caring, friendly staff. Great vet! Been taking care of my pets for 18 years. 9/7/21 Best vet still. Over 20 years.

I found South Shades Animal Clinic on a Google search one day when I had to take our dog to a vet last minute. We have been here 3 times now, and every time has been a 5-star visit! They have fit us into their schedule the same day I called to make the appointment all 3 times, and all of their staff is so sweet and helpful every time.

Dr. Stark has been my family's vet for about 16 years. I appreciate her service so much that I actually am applying to work there. She takes great care of the animals she treats and is an amazing person in general.

Dr. Stark is hands down the best Veteranarian in Hoover. Experienced, kind, and so professional. Can't say enough good things about her.

I live out of town. I was staying at my mom's house when my dog got sick. I didn't want to drive home, so I called South Chase Crest Animal Clinic and told them what was going on. They saw us immediately and treated my dog with such care. It turned out he had pancreatitis. They gave him an IV and a shot and some new food. He was feeling better within a couple of days. Like nothing had ever happened. With his new diet, hopefully this will never happen again. He was so pitiful. I'm so grateful they saw him so quickly. If we lived nearby, this would be my regular vet. Thank you so much Dr. Stark and staff! Jake and I really appreciate your help!

I wanted to try a more personal vet than what I was used too. SSCV was exactly what I was looking for. The staff here were sweet and caring. The atmosphere was calm and less stressful for my cat in comparison to our old vet. They were gentle with my cat Potter, giving him lots of love and pets which I know he appreciated. I also liked that I was allowed in the room with him while they gave him his shots/drew blood. He is now home and happy as can be, like nothing ever even happened. This is a great vet to go to if your animal stresses easily and needs a calm environment.

I have worked here for 13 years and it's definitely home for me. I love everything about Dr. Stark! As a veterinarian, she does the right thing for the patient. She doesn't just tell the owner what they want to hear. She is a one on one doctor with the patients and the owner. She's very personable with a great memory! She's truly a great person and veterinarian.

We absolutely love Dr. Stark & her staff! We’ve been seeing her since moving to Birmingham in 2014. She treats all 3 of our cats like her own, even our ‘Kitty’ who tends to be pretty difficult during her visits.

We love this vet! Dr. Stark is caring, kind, knowledgeable and smart. We have 4 cats and 2 dogs and we feel so blessed to have found Dr. Stark right away upon moving to Alabama. Her office staff is helpful, kind and caring as well. It is easy to get an appointment right away and I am always able to get in touch with her when I need to. I highly recommend this great lady and her wonderful staff.

Dr. Susan Stark and her super sweet staff are genuinely concerned, loving and caring of my furbaby. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the fact that Dr. Stark will immediately take the time to talk with me when I call asking questions about my little love bug. She examined my baby with me standing by her instead of taking my panicked baby off to another room away from me. Personally, I feel better being right there to comfort and console my baby. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Stark. I like the way she takes the time to focus on my baby and I don't feel like we're just a number.

I went to SSCAC for the first time today with my dog, Maggie. I could not have been more pleased! Maggie had some health complications last year, which led me to seek out a different veterinarian. Dr. Stark was WONDERFUL and incredibly understanding/caring with my concerns. I (and my dog!) couldn't be happier, and I really wish I would have brought her to South Shades years ago!

Dr. Susan Stark has cared for all of my friends for about 15 years. You would have to look long and hard to find a more sincere vet. Highly recommend.

I've used Dr. Stark for years and for multiple pets. She is caring and compassionate toward the animals. My dogs LOVE her! I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a great vet.

All of my previous vets struggled with my cat's aggressive behavior towards vets and stuff members. However, Dr Stark and her team can handle my big boy without any issues. He is finally getting the right treatment for his bladder and kidney issues and I feel that I can trust her and her judgement.

Dr. Stark is an outstanding caring vet who has helped me & my family through illnesses, deaths & everyday care with our pets. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else due to the personalized level of care she & her staff have shown us over the past 4 years!
