After a bad experience with another Homewood animal clinic, a friend recommended Dr. Mike Kilgore at Homewood Animal Hospital for our sick cat. Even though she had never been there before, the staff worked me right in and Dr. Mike is the best-spent time with me in the exam room to discuss our cat's condition, followed up with a call to let me know how her procedure went and then again when some tests came back. This is how a vet practice SHOULD work, not like the veterinary money mill on Central Avenue which will never see me again-Dr. Mike is "the man" from here on.. Thanks Dr. Mike and staff for the great care, both people and critters

This place is like the “ cheers” for dogs. They know your dog and love them like it was their own! This building may be small but the quality is mighty!

I’m new to the area and my dog has had horrible allergies leading to multiple infections. Dr. Higginbothum has been outstanding and very attentive. My dog loves her and she always follows up about previous visits and any concerns we discussed. I’m a huge fan and happy to have this awesome team so close to home.

They were very good at helping with fast response in order to help try to save kittens life. Highly recommended in my book.

Mike and Meghan are spectacular!! And their team goes over and beyond to make sure you, and your pet, are well taken care of and feel comfortable. I drive 30 minutes just to go to them because they are wonderful people and they are great at what they do. I highly recommend them for anyone.

Best vet we have ever had. Been going here for over 6 years and never disappointed. They always take excellent care of our dogs, fit us in for urgent appointments when needed, are extremely friendly and personable, and very reliable. We’ve seen all the vets and they are all fantastic - Dr Mike, Dr Harrison, Dr Z, along with all of the staff. Wouldn’t want to take our pups anywhere else!

Dr. Z is great. I hate dropping my fur baby off and just leaving him, but the staff always makes me feel comfortable and provides care in a very timely manner.

They were absolutely great with all the Covid precautions. My kitty had her first visit and it went great. I had to wait in the car, but the Dr. called my herself and went over every detail with me. It did not take long at all. Great experience.

Vet very nonchalant. Kept telling us nothing was wrong w my brothers puppy. THERE is definitely something wrong with her. Was just giving bad vibes. Idk maybe she woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Lost a potential customer.

Your services sux. You broke my dogs nails and charge me to fix them and you knew that when I came back up there and bill me for it. I can't believe you ask me for my opinion.

My whole family absolutely loves Doctor Mike and Doctor Harrison. Doctor Mike has been taking care of our fur babies for at least 40 years. Would never trust their health to anyone else. You guys are great. Cannot wait for this virus to be over so that we can come inside and take some of that burden off you guys. I see how busy everyone stays all the time.

The doctors here saved my cat's life. They work as a team as well as a human hospital. Professional, friendly and everyone there cares about the animals. This is without a doubt one of the top 3 vet clinics in bham, if not the top. They are busy, especially in the morning, so expect to wait on hold a while if you call at 8am and definitely make an appointment.

New to Birmingham and found this place based off of reviews. 1000% satisfied and would highly recommend. The staff is friendly and helpful. We have utilized them for everything from flea and tick medication to minor surgeries aid check ups for a husky and a chihuahua. They are prompt to get you in, and will cater to emergencies. We really love them. And as far as pricing- they are fair, but you get what you pay for

It was wonderful. Always have good treatment for my cats. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
