This is the ONLY veterinary hospital that has ALWAYS made time to see my pets in an emergency. I have never been turned away. I think that speaks volumes about their true care and compassion for animals and their owners.

Dr. Lukert and staff did an excellent job taking care of my dog who need many teeth extracted. They were caring and let me know immediately once the surgery was over that my dog was doing good. Thank you!

I have been using Douglasville Veterinary Hospital for years. I lost my 16 year old lab in June. They were so compassionate and caring as I went through that. I have recently adopted a rescue and they have been just as amazing in taking care of her. She was spayed and Dr. Lukert did such a beautiful job that she doesn't even have a scar. ALL of the doctors and staff at this clinic are amazing! I love them all and I can't recommend them highly enough! If you are looking for a place to take your animals where they will be treated with love, compassion and tenderness, this is the place to go. :)

This place is awesome! The staff is friendly and they know your pets name as soon as you walk in the door lol. I'm always impressed how polite and friendly the staff are. The Doctors here all love their careers as caring animal lovers! They all rock!

Our 15yr old Pomeranian little buddy developed a hernia. We were told by a previous vet that they would not even try to help. Dr. Lukert and his compassionate an dedicated staff listened, explained and next Friday will do his surgery. As the Doctor said "If we don't try to help a 15yr old, why are we even here..." Every staff member made the entire visit a joy. They interacted with every one in a way that showed they cared. Bless them all. If your animal buddies need care, this is the place.

brought two of my fur babies in for a scheduled exam at 5:00pm. we checked in at 4:30p & did not see the vet until almost 6pm. we watched other people walk in after us and after our scheduled 5pm appointment, get serviced before us. We were told at 5:45pm that the vet was running behind due to being in surgery. At 6pm we were brought to a room and told that the Vet we were scheduled for was still not available and suggested we meet with another vet. Fine. - this vet (don’t remember her name) examined both my fur animals in under 2 min and did not offer any information about their results/findings or health. just told us to come back when their next shots were due and walked out the room. we were charged for a pointless service and left with nothing to go off of. This was by far the worse veterinarian experience I’ve had.

When I adopted my cat about a year ago I was given a discount to get her vaccinated at D'ville Vet Hospital. Both times I visited with Lily Belle they were so great. Lily is a kind of mean cat around strangers. Dr. Rachel and Amanda were so thorough in her exam and had no problem. The front desk staff are just wonderful. She was limping and needed a rabies shot. They don't charge too much and I think Lily will get good life long care there. :)

My pup had kidney stones and they were able to surgically remove them all and took great care of him and it’s only been 2 days since I picked him up and he’s acting like nothing happened.

The staff are friendly and courteous. They demonstrate a card and concern about animals. The office is efficient and clean. The doctors are very professional.

I had an emergency situation and they accommodated me the same day, whereas several other vets could not have cared any less about the plight of poor animal. Choose your vet carefully.

So i personally love the vets here who have treated my sweet boy with so much care and love. HOWEVER- we won’t be back because the receptionist here is so rude. I walked in this afternoon to pick up my fur babies prescription and never once was acknowledged standing at the counter for a solid 7 mins- finally after waiting she looked up and and asked what i needed in the worse tone, when i asked for our records her tone completely changed to being friendly. I get things get busy, i work in the medical field as well HOWEVER you can not be rude to your clients because of a hectic day or in general.

I highly recommend this Veterinary Practice. The Vet I normally use was on vacation, and my moms cat got very sick. I had called 4 other animal hospitals trying to get the kitty seen & I was continuously told they were booked. When I called Douglas Vet, it was lunch break but they still took the time to hear me. They had me bring her in within the hour and she was quickly seen. The Dr was very professional, the tech and receptionists were very kind. They took care of our cat & she is doing so much better. One thing… they are very pricey, compared to my home vet, but it was worth it and their compassion was felt.

We love our vets office! The staff are super friendly, and very supportive. They are always upfront with us in regards to our pets care, and of course cost. The doctors & staff are loving and caring, and THAT is what we want when it comes to our pets care.

We moved to the area 20 years ago, and our Vet in Vinings referred us to Douglasville Animal Hospital. We have been pleased with the care we have received over the years with all of our pets. They have handled torn ligament repair, emergency sting/bite, cancer, routine check ups, dental cleanings and so much more. We appreciate the excellent care and patience of Dr. Lukert, Dr, McCumpsey, and all the staff

I've been bringing my pets to this facility for 20 years, and it's a shame how the front office customer service has deteriorated to its current level. Other reviews have mentioned how the buyout by PetVet Care Centers conglomerate has greatly affected the level of service, and they are right. I literally just spent 20 minutes on hold, trying to make an appointment for my dog to get her annuals. This was actually my second call -- on my first attempt, I was placed on hold for almost nine minutes. I decided to hang up and call back, thinking I'd have better luck getting through. After answering, the person put me on hold, resulting in the 20-minute wait. I even tried calling from another phone while I was waiting, thinking they might have simply forgotten me. Nope. The person answered and put me on hold. I understand a vet office is a busy place and front desk staff have other duties besides answering phones. But it's absolutely unacceptable to leave a caller on hold for that long without as least checking in and asking if they want to continue to hold or would like a call back. And for the life of me, I can't imagine what was going on that required them to leave someone on hold that long. I've been in the place when they've had emergency walk-ins on top of a crowded lobby and they still were able to address calls within a reasonable timeframe. So multitasking in a fast-paced environment doesn't seem to be a strongpoint of the current front desk staff. And to be frank, they're not the friendliest bunch either, which can put a bit of a damper on a visit. However, the vets are nice (although we sure do miss the awesome Dr. Porter, who retired) -- it's just too bad you have to deal with an administrative staff that acts like they can't be bothered with giving you the time of day. We'll be looking for a new vet.
